@@WolfTheGhost3775 It was actually “king in yellow” by Robert W. Chambers that inspired lovecraft, as lovecraft read the king in yellow to his own works and put in a reference to the yellow sign which to my knowledge originated in Chambers’s book.
Indeed, Cthulhu is extremely powerful, but Hastur is a Mysterious entity that has not even shown its true potential. From my current view and analysis, Hastur has great power hidden from us and his avatars can already give Cthulhu considerable work to defeat them.
@@WolfTheGhost3775 Cthulhu is the strongest Great Old One, what is the specie of Hastur, Cthulhu comes from Ultimate Void meanwhile Hastur comes from Dreamlands, also, they both are stated as other priests but Cthulhu is a high priest
@@LordMiraakedits2142 As far as I've read, Cthulhu is not an Outer God nor does his true form reside in the Final Void. His true form resides only in the Dreamlands like the other Great Old Ones. The Final Void is specifically made for the Outer Gods or those who have permission/access to go there. Indeed, Cthulhu is the strongest and most powerful of the Great Old Ones, but he needs no exaggeration. If you could show the sources (specifically the books and quotes from them) I would be very grateful.
@@WolfTheGhost3775 Nah, Hunt horrors and shantaks can travel to Ultimate Void too, like Outer ones who were from Ultimate Void, also, the Outer ones are priests of Cthulhu and Hastur, so, Hastur is probably from that place too (The whisperer in the darkness) . But Cthulhu is constantly stated as the strongest and main Great Old One, the another Great Old Ones are stated as vassals of Cthulhu, what includes Hastur.
@@LordMiraakedits2142Look, I just reread The Call of Cthulhu, a little of The Whisperer in the Darkness and Dream Quest of Unknown Kadatah and I see that you made some mistakes and mistakes. Cthulhu does indeed have a certain authority over the Great Old Ones, but the size of his power is more to keep R'ylleh in balance and also to FREE the Great Old Ones from their prisons, but nothing that is Ontologically superior to them. Cthulhu is still a Great Old One, but with a higher level of power than the other Great Old Ones, his position and power is not ontologically or conceptually superior to Them. The true form of Cthulhu and the other Great Old Ones possibly resides in the Dreamlands, and their existential essences that keep them existing (archetypes) are stored with Yog-Sothoth in the Final Void. Nothing much so far. Hunt Horrors and Shantaks are subordinates of Nyarlathotep, an Outer God who has access to the Final Void. It is extremely likely that these creatures can only go to the Final Void with the help of Exterior (Nyarlathotep) or someone who has access to that place and not by themselves. If I were to correct the Edit, I would say that Cthulhu beats Hastur with Mid-High Diff.
Correction: Cthulhu Wins Mid-High Diff

As I know, Hastur is not a canon in the Cthulhu Mythos, right?
Could you tell me where I can find more information about him?
Lovecraft made his own character of Hastur. But it was an inspiration from another story ("Haïta The Shepherd", by Ambrose Bierce).

@@matthewzard oh, thanks
Cthulhu gets all tbh, he slams badly (except in cosmology because they're in the same)
