Are we not just getting a rebadged Rival groupset at a higher price point? Granted a power meter & chainings for $440 is very attractive. Looks like the oil-slick look is migrating from the mtb world to the road riding world.
I like the new Force, might be able to go to this model from my 2015 original ETAP 22. Maybe not as good as Shimano but I grew up on Campy down tube shifters lol.
Very nice, looks like it will kill off any remaining RED stock that is left. I'd love to see a video comparing the weight of the new Force crankset to the '22 Red crankset...since they look identical with the exception of the 'commando' black rings. Also...the weight of the new Force shifters compared to '22 Rival shifters. What the weights are of this new mid-tier SRAM groupset compared to Shimano's latest Ultegra.
Hahahaha awesome video bro, I just love your shenanigans…lol…specially when they come out of nowhere, you’re really good at that, it makes the video so much better…keep up the awesome work 🙏👍💪
I’ve seen this same complaint way too much. It seems to make sense on the surface but seriously with the amount of time it takes to wear out those chainrings, it won’t matter. I’ve had a Red crankset for ages and the chainrings still look almost new. By the time they’re actually worn, most regular users would be ready to upgrade or buy something else anyway.
@@charliethedog7579 I hear you about the wear factor. Some people I have read say it also makes it harder if you just want to change size of the chain rings at some point.
The fact that SRAM has to offer a 50% trade in program says they know the option is a poor design. The smarter thing to do is release single and dual sided pedal power meters, they have the technology. They should release them $400 for dual. It’d undercut Assioma who I think are the cheapest, it’d bring more people to the SRAM family, it’d lower the cost of power meters ongoing for replacements either through wear or they just need a difference sized chainring.
Can’t wait to see the new SRAM Red. I am using SRAM Red AXS FD + powermeter crank 52-39 with Force AXS groupset and it is great! The only thing that was useful and I pre-ordered is 4 battery charger. The rest is meh.
Thanks for the review. I would certainly buy it if the price point is like ultegra. Lets wait end see. And I agree about the 10-26 cassette. Also in the Netherlands this favorit
Lol, I love that you time stamped the F***KING SRAM. I went to rewind because I didn't hear what he said, and boom. There it was lmfao. Giving the people what they want!
Well i heard from a very good source that soon sram apex axs will be launched also sram apex 12 speed mechanical those will have cassette that fit standard shimano freehub starting with a 11
Hi GC. Love the channel. Question, can you mix and match Sram groups? I would like to keep my rim brakes. Looking to piece together, SRAM Red AXS hoods and Force everything else. Doable?
NGL the new Force looks nice, at a very attractive price comparatively. Might have gone with it if it was available last year rather than Shimano Ultegra. Would have been a hard choice.
I have Red on my road bike. I never minded the bulk of them because I have fairly large hands. But, I test rode a bike with Rival and I did like the shape and feel of them much better than the Red. So, I am glad they went to the same shape on the new Force. I am contemplating on a new bike but am planning on going with Force rather than Red again. I expect Red to update with the same shape. Since they didn't really change much on the new Force, I agree with you that they may make a bigger change with a new Red. My guess is that they may change the motors or something to make the shifts a little quicker since that is one thing people keep raving about on Shimano. That would help further justify the price difference.
About a week ago, I was about to change my current 46/33 to 48/35 chain rings, good thing I did not. Now I can with this new chain rings. My only gripe is, I can’r reuse my current PM🤦🏽♂️
@@GCPerformance18 no worries. It happens but not often… only going to the big ring but never in the small ring. Plus, I have a k-edge chain catcher. Of course it was set up properly by a pro mechanic but it tends to happen to red compared to force. So I’ve heard and read.
I think I'm still going to stick with Shimano. Love my GRX on gravel and DA can't be beaten on the road. Have brand-new AXS ready to put on my MTB but still deciding whether to keep or sell since word is Shimano has a crazy new e-XTR coming out...!
Love my Rival hoods. If they really are the same on Force I’ll definitely upgrade to Force. Really want the adjustability of Force but with the Rival hoods.
I'm all for top spec gear, but this is cookie cutter gear, all copied from other groups. but I'm honestly more excited about Cues and what that means for the industry.
Love your videos. Very informative. Went to my local specialized dealer here in Germany and bikes are going on sale. Looked at the Crux and they directly started with 10% off. How low will this go?
I would be curious to know if you're able to upgrade only certain components of this new group set if one already has the previous Sram Force group set?
hm..the price what i allways see is almost the same price on the market then the sram red here in euros 800€..... and it looks like that it is havier then the red one... so currently it would make sense to go for the "old" Red crankset then the force?
yea it is lighter for sure, but also the srasm red stuff has been discounted for some timenow making ti a tough buy between the two, if you can get the sram red group for close in price it is the better group for sure
When I compared the same bike with old force and new Ultegra there was a 460g difference in favour of the Iltegra. I wonder if this gap has been closed with the new one piece crank?
I wish they would get rid of XDR hubs. I have 2 scram bikes, but all others are Shimano. I feel like they are trying to trap people into only buying scram.
I have Force but, I would love to have that crank set with a power meter. That painted chain ring is purty cool. How much for just the cranks and when can you ship them to me?
Any idea when this will be available to buy? I just got a pretty good deal on the previous Force AXS group but I still need the crank set and considered getting the current Red AXS one because of how ugly the previous Force cranks are. Even googled for black Red chainrings a bit so this is exactly what I wished for.
Deleted wired remote buttons 😢.the wireless buttons are to big and they’re disposable so they’ve got you trapped into buying replacements for life of the group. No bike computer integration is a epic fail.
@@GCPerformance18 if Shimano can make small buttons then so can Sram. I’ve tiny buttons from Cateye that are wired into di2 system that you can barely see. No excuse for omitting computer integration 2023.
Bruh 😂 when you said "damn that guy is sexy" and then you started moaning I was like "uh oh..." LoL As for SRAM I still can't get over their gearing. Looks nice but give me Shimano instead any day 🙌🏻
I for one do not like the new shifter body. That little lip right there gave me blisters so bad that I intentionally sought out an older set of shifters from Force.
I think this one piece crankset actually makes its direct competitor Ultegra's crankset look cheap. All subjective though and I'm glad we have options available.

Nice looking groupset. I agree with you regarding the 10-26 cassette.
The holographic stickers make it look cheaper than SRAM rival. Oil Slick components make your bike look like a cheap gas station knife.
When I oil slick I think kids micro scooter and fidget spinner!
i think they just realized how much they overdid themselves with rival so people weren't willing to spend more on force lmao
I have to say... You were right and I was wrong. You said SRAM would probably go all black and I didn't think so. Well... KUDOS!👍
man I hear a lot of things in this industry ;)))

It looks sick! I'm running the Rival right now, but I could see myself upgrading.
Why? Just change the crankset. The rest you already have lol
The fact that the power has to be thrown away with the chainrings is unbelievable.
theyu have a 50 percent trade in program so u only opay 50 percent of the chainring cost which is 220

They also last like 4ever. They could be used for about 15,000km I reckon. I used some RED AXS rings for 10,000km and barely had any marks on it

Sram just needs some 11-xx cassettes. 10t is far too chunky to pedal hard, as a 10sided polygon it's not round enough.

SRAM to acquire Classified and revolutionize their top tier groupset - just speculating!
