I wish I was still working nights on the garbage truck in the Bronx some of the bags weighed a bunch and had liquid in them. That’s the hit the hopper and stand clear juice spraying out.

Great video but those bins seem so inefficient with all the stuff that gets left inside and on the edge of the hopper
13:33 All the freon from the ac unit is in the atmosphere now :/ The person that threw it into the dumpster needs to be ashamed of themselves. Honestly, seeing this, along with all the recycling being rendered useless makes me extremely angry and sad. I am living in a city where our recycling quote for paper is 80%+ and plastics is 60%+ and I'm recycling even the tiniest piece of paper, and these people just throw everything into one dumpster.
Thats what I was thinking about the ac unit. I could have gotten 20 bucks out of that at the junk yard.

someone needs to tell him that his rear axle on that truck is not safe. I watched those torque arms moving around a lot as he was unloading at the transfer station. Driver needs to do a better PTI on the truck.
Believe me man, we want this truck retired. This is one of the largest flaws in private refuse hauling imo. Cost cutting leading to unsafe conditions
Truck used to have 2 axles in good shape, one broke so they cut it off and didn't bother to spend the money to replace it 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️. So we avoid using this truck like the plague

They need to make recycling easy, thats the problem. My hauler charges extra for a recycle container, so im not doing that. In the city they have dumpsters were you can drop off recycle, but im in the country, im not wasting fuel and time to make an hour round trip.
