The ps2 era of games will always be undefeated. They just don’t make games like they used to. Obviously games look much better these days but imagine a hulk game like this with todays graphics and technology!
Definitely, ps2 was a great generation for the freedom of more games and ideas to try , I hope the ps5 goes in the same direction

@rebel2191 there is but not enough are being released as they were in the ps2 days and so many get canceled or not even started due to today's contracts and than for today's games , it can lack so much content until dlcs pop up and still lack so much content compared to what we were use to during the ps2 era, the ps2 era we had tons of content especially in consideration to what we were use to, the ps2 hulk came with alot of content, the ps3 hulk main feature was breaking down the city which was a great addition but ps2 hulk had more fun things to do as it seems, during ps2 era many games had hidden features to continue stories that you didnt even think were there unless someone read a game informer, the menus were even more polished but that's also because game devs don't take a real advantage of games being online connected where they would send out unfinished patches and keep working on them as time goes, you couldn't do that during ps2 era so games had to be fully polished where it should still be like that and worked on even more with updates

With how advanced games are now tho, I just wonder if you can get past the implications of NPC’s that resemble civilians dying from Hulk’s rampage or say, destroying a building.
The limitations of games back then kinda seemed to make that easier, but maybe I’m just wrong lol

For sure. I remember spending countless hours in the training zone just to use all of Hulks different abilities. How many other games let you hammer toss a freaking tank, or use a wrecking ball as a melee weapon, or catch a missile and throw it back. This game straight up spoiled us lol

That's like saying Prototype is better than Incredible Hulk, but it really all depends on what you like about the game. I'd rather play Hulk than Alex Mercer any day of the week because I like Hulk, and really don't know or care who Alex Mercer is.
2:28 Excuse me but you can also destroy some buildings in Ultimate Destruction and those gives you smash points and some comic book collectibles.
I love the green energy effects on hulk in ultimate destruction. I hope the studio that made it makes a new one or a remaster. The combat was so fun!
Knowing how Activision operates the studio is either no longer around or a support studio for CoD at this point. The amount of squandered talent over at Activision is honestly one of the greatest tragedies in the gaming industry.

I kinda feel that Disney/Marvel isn’t trying to portray The Hulk as this kind of character anymore. Which just sucks. The last time we saw a rampaging hulk was in age of ultron and he was being mind-fucked by scarlet witch lol.

couldnt agree more. Its sucks that it seems an almost impossible task for modern devs to create such a game. Or maybe they dont want to idk but it sucks that it seems we'll never get another game like Hulk Ultimate Destruction that plays and feels the same.
PS2...the GOAT console. Guess it will be hard to defeat. So many great games. Devs this days should look back and learn how to make very, very, very fun to play games like those two.

The Gameplay couldn't keep up with Hulk Ultimate Destruction. I can't think of a bigger complaint about gaming than that sequels to Hulk Ultimate Destruction were never made. Hulk fans don't want Prototype. We want Hulk.

The only thing better about the 2008 version is you can break the city down with hulks power, not sure if you get better enemies or not but due to the game being newer , im sure some of the button tapping will feel better but from what i remember, ultimate destruction is also way more agile
You can actually destroy the entire city in Ultimate Destruction. The uploader just didn’t do a good job on comparing the two. Anyone who played Ultimate Destruction would agree.

A Devil Hulk skin for Ultimate Destruction would’ve been awesome…I was disappointed when I found out there wasn’t one.
There was an Abomination skin. I remember unlocking it, but Devil Hulk is like 20 times taller than the regular Hulk, so it would've been impossible to free roam
I guess it's also the reason there wasn't a skin for the Abomination's second form

Hulk Ultimate Destruction will always be the Ultimate Hulk Game. I've had so fun playing it growing up. I'd be thrilled if they were to rerelease it for the current gen consoles.

Man, Ultimate Destruction is in my top PS2 games. High Replay Value, really explored the Hulk Character beyond common knowledge. Wide open and just so much fun. Glad I got to enjoy it as a kid.
I still have this game. Got it after a summer baseball clinic and I had no clue I picked up a classic.
I feel like Hulk Ultimate Destruction was a way more fun game despite the graphics being a lot more dated in comparison to The Incredible Hulk. Something about Hulk Ultimate Destruction gave me those Spiderman 2 vibes that only those games could give me.
I miss games like this, just a fun single player sandbox where it’s just an ultimate power fantasy I need me a prototype 3

H:UD led into Prototype, which was a unique game for the PS3, jank and problems aside.
Meanwhile, TID will remain a forgotten movie license game, on the PS3.
Ultimate destruction had waaay more finer details that made the game come to life. Things like bigger impact points and having hulks run animation actually bob him up and down and kick up dust as if he had real weight unlike the other one where you are running but the sprite is otherwise almost perfectly still.
It does get some points for letting you demolish buildings but that's as much as it gets
You can see the evolution of video games as time goes on with this comparison the fun just seems to just bleed out of it

We just need an open world Incredible Hulk game that allows you to be nearly impenetrable to smaller and weaker enemies and then really be tested by the stronger foes.
Ultimate destruction is still fun to play even today you just feel unstoppable the intro gives me goosebumps to this day

It's so obvious now how the Hulk: Ultimate Destruction game mechanics inspired the same ones used in Prototype 1 (2009). probably developed by the same team.

I’ve never played ultimate destruction took but holy crap the gameplay is amazing it’s on par with something like jedi academy and just being very fluid, cinematic and smooth looking when he was in the air with that ball or whatever and grabbing stuff and jumping in the air and being able to target an enemy and throw it that’s pretty good. Most games now just have the ol’ pick up with x and throw in whatever direction your actually facing

Ultimate Destruction is superior in every way. It even has better graphics than the PS2 version of Incredible Hulk despite coming out like 3 years earlier.

I have a soft spot for The Incredible Hulk since I remember being young and gaving a blast with the destruction and combat..
Just for fun when I found out civilians were invincible,
I'd pick out a random from the crowd and act like I'm having this intense battle that moved from block to block and took down buildings by throwing or punching the poor random guy into them..
As you guessed ut was really just a fun ragdoll session.
I also loved taking an enemy or NPC to the top of a building and then grabbing and jumping off to slam them into the ground as high and as hard as I could..

Damn, I forget how good Ultimate Destruction is. I need to revisit it sometime. Everything about the movie tie-in game came off so cheap. Despite being next-gen, UD still looks better than the flat, gray mess its little brother turned out to be. The sound was absolutely terrible too, my god. Wish we still had Radical Entertainment around. Some talented individuals there, cut short out of greed and profit as usual.
As a kid, I had a chance to get Ultimate Destruction for the GameCube but didn’t. I kinda regret it now, but I managed to make the most of the Wii version for the movie-game.
When I was a kid the commercials blew my mind so I went to game-krazy to rent it and I accidentally rented the shitty movie version of the game I was really disappointed. I didn’t realize my mistake until it was too late and I still really wish I got to experience it when I was still a kid

Man ele é o melhor jogo do Hulk fácil fácil, como o amigo falou aí em cima, ele tem muito mais agilidade e você joga com gosto e com vontade de controlar o Hulk, agora esse inspirado no filme do Edward Norton você não pode fazer nada enquanto ele tá travado no Pulo, esse salto dele trava o personagem na animação de pular e você não pode fazer nada quanto a isso, não só isso! como ele tem muitos outros defeitos que fazem o jogo ser extremamente difícil e facilmente uma merda! Ultimate Destruction é superior em todos os sentidos.

Biggest problem with incredible hulk 2008 is that it feels so sluggish,janky and just flat out unfinished and undercooked game you can tell the people who developed that game wanted it to be good as ultimate destruction but didn't have enough time cause the company wanted to rush the game out the door

It was published by activision but not made by it. The company that made them was radical entertainment which sadly shut down years ago

I've never played Ultimate Destruction, but I can understand that, from many videos, The Incredible Hulk has some elements from the former.
How good is that game (not 2008, I still play it to this day)?
Its great tbh. The combat is awesome with tons of combos and weapon and environment usage. The story is also pretty good as well. The 2008 game has better bosses and unlockables but the combat is a bit more limited. I prefer 2008 game actually but Ultimate Destruction is a must play superhero game. You will have a good time with it

I always knew the incredible Hulk ultimate destruction was better, but I do like The Incredible Hulk game loosely based on the movie for the fact that it not only looks nicer graphically but you can literally destroy every single building in the entire game.

Ultimate destruction for gamplay, new hulk for graphics. I enjoyed both but the weaponization in UD has never been replicated since then and left quite the Hulk sized hole. Don't know how that game has never gotten a remaster.
