I’ll stand by this statement until the day I die, out of every single opponent that lost to Roman during his universal title reign, demon Finn balor got the most screwed
@@payrysdoscs4903 I understand that but I expect someone like Roman reigns to retain his title because of bloodline interference. What I call bullshit on however, is Roman retaining his title due to “an act of god”
That turnbuckle breaking at the end that costed Finn Balor the Match was literally the worst way I’ve ever seen a wrestler lose a championship match ever
For me, it was The Fiend vs Goldberg. At least Finn had a competitive match. Fiend was booked to be a Jason Voorhees unstoppable type character only to get squashed in 3 minutes by an old man with a botched Jackhammer.
The turnbuckle breaking was supposed to go further into the storyline, but the plans were changed. I forgot why but theirs an interview with Finn explaining it
For the Steve Austin ladder match, they literally explained on the next show I believe that it was Big Boss Man. It's a big Mandela Effect that they never explained who it was. Bossman was previously fired from the corporation, and there was a stipulation in the match saying that the Corporation couldn't get involved in the match. Since Bossman was fired, he wasn't part of the corporation and thus interfered by raising the briefcase. He was soon thereafter rehired to the corporation.
Made a similar but less in-depth comment. It was supposed to be an example of subtle story telling and this channel is exactly why wrestling can't be subtle
3:15 They explained who raised the case, it just wasn’t said explicitly. The match stipulation said no one from the Corporation could interfere. The Big Boss Man was fired from the Corporation on the prior episode of Raw; he was rehired the next night after KOTR. He was the man operating the briefcase mechanism so Austin couldn’t grab it.
I would add one crazy way a wrestler TRIED to win a match. When Umaga tried to count a pinfall on the wall in a *Falls count anywhere match". That truly meant falls count ANYWHERE. 🤣🤣🤣
I think bigshow won a match that way one time. Don't quote me on it though. It's like a fleeting memory in my mind. I just remember him yoinking a little guy up sideways and the ref slapping the wall.
3:21 there actually was an explanation for that on the next episode of raw where it was revealed that Big Boss Man pulled it up big boss man was kicked out of the corporation for one night so he could do that, because the corporation was banned from ringside it's such a lame reveal that no one remembers it
@0:51 As they lie-in the ring together, Roman is touching Balor’s wrist which is code for - “thank you or well done, good job, hope your ok.” I love noticing these subtle gestures within a match.
A wrestler actually won a match after he was already dead. Luther Lindsay suffered a fatal heart attack on top of the rope and landed on top of his opponent. He got the win but was already dead. That's right. He won a match while he had just died on top of his opponent. That beats every single one of these.
9:36 an 'Extreme rules' match ending via Disqualification ?? Thats gotta be the second worst match ending ever. Just below Rollins vs Wyatt at Hell in a cell 2019
You forgot about the tag team that attached a bottle of head and shoulders shampoo to the mannequin "head" to be able to pin it during a "tag team" match against al snow and head.
At the time Grandmaster Sexay and Scotty 2 Hotty were known as Too Sexy Brian Christopher and Too Hot Scott Taylor their tag team name was Too Much . The match in question took place at 1998 King of The Ring and Jerry The King Lawler was special referee and mostly favored Too Much .
6:57 They stole that from The Bushwhackers and Men on a Mission at the 1993 Survivor Series . With Bam Bam Bigelow the only man left on his team he was pinned by Mabel , Mo , Luke and Butch the only one who didn't join in was , Men on a Mission manager , Oscar .
Till now i still don't understand fin balor top rope breakage that's crazy and no one is questioning it how? Like how? Was it scripted or it was a creation failure someone please explain cause it can just be “And Act of God ”
2:40 I can't remember the match but John Cena won a match when Shawn Michaels superkicked him onto another wrestler for the pin Edit: It was the Fatal 4 Way in 2007 John Cena vs Shawn Michaels vs Randy Orton vs Edge
Although they briefly showed a picture of it, I'm surprised that they didn't include the way John Cena won that Last Man Standing match against Batista.
0:36, maybe the Bloodline (knowing the Finisher of Finn) manipulated the top Rope. Would be an interesting idea, if Finn and one of the Bloodline should ever meet again , it could be a crazy story. Instant personal.
"It's truly a miracle that fans didn't stop watching WWE altogether after this" Actually, I die. After Balor lost there I didn't watch WWE again until the 2023 Royal Rumble. I think stopped again after Manja 39 and am finally back to watching now that the damn title is finally off of Roman.
I would have been so ok with the top rope breaking if it was a "finn was screwed" story. Like there was definitely a way to make that super interesting .... but nope. it was just stupid
The storyline behind Taz intentionally losing the FTW title to Sabu was not because he didn't need it anymore, but because he kayfabe hated Sabu and knew if he lost the title he was granted a rematch, ensuring he could hurt Sabu some more.
I can't believe you mentioned Rikishi but left out the tag team match ofRikishi and Rico vs Billy and Chuck where Rikishi super kicked out Rico who fell on Billy Or Chuck to win the pin fall for the tag team championship
The last one is semi why i stopped watching the wwe version of ecw. You would think every ecw match would automatically be extreme rules but no. I believe it was the dudley boyz vs evolution with ric flair as the ref. One of the dudleys threw a punch and got DQd. After that I was done.
I’m with WWE on it being God because just think about the math where Brock Lesnar had the big show on the top rope combined that’s like 700 pounds compared to Finn valor which is like 100
wwe should use a storyline where fin balor would look back at the match and try to find who the culprit that broke the top rope during his match with roman and the person that broke the top rope should be damien priest and then a baby face fin balor should challenge Damien for the world hevyweight championship and win claiming the world title after 8 long years
The number of times you sarcastically mumble "maybe it was an act of God" makes me smile as it proves you were as pissed off by that level of BS as I was.
6:58 no one seems to realise that the big show was holding himself, and the other guys up so Edge wasn't suffocated under just about 800 pounds of man
