Found this old promo for when Fresh Beat Band of Spies came to Nick Jr/Nickelodeon introducing the animated Kiki.
Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer, who played Kiki on the live-action series also did her voice in the animated version. Yvette is a multi-talented Cuban-American actress, author, singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist who has toured and performed from Madison Square Garden and Carnegie Hall to Broadway to LA Live with artists including Justin Bieber, Engelbert Humperdinck, Ne-Yo, Jason Mraz, Wyclef Jean, Flor de Toloache and others. She won the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, signed with hit songwriter/executive-producer Billy Mann/BMG Publishing and records her own material.
Her earliest memory is her mother making her a cardboard violin to play with, which is fitting because we cast her off a video audition she made in New York where her live violin playing caught our ear.
Yvette has already had an amazing career beyond Fresh Beat Band. On stage she appeared in The Heights, originated the role of Fate in the Grammy and Tony Award-winning hit Broadway musical Hadestown and recorded, co-produced, co-arranged and wrote on the Hadestown Holiday Album. She performed as Cha Cha in FOX’s star-studded Grease: Live, on Madam Secretary and Criminal Minds and received two Imagen Award nominations for playing Kiki.
She's an amazing actress, incredible musician and an amazing person.
