The weather in the Med has been bad recently, my daughter works on a super yacht and they have had 2 instances this season & the weather is bad again. My thoughts go out to all involved, don't forget the crew are ordinary young people earning a living before any crass comments about rich people. It's not nice for anyone. I hope everyone recovers well and that those missing are returned to their families - a sad day

It has always been bad! You don't fool around with the ocean. The Yacht was a terrible design. Never should have been in blue water😮 there must have been someone on the crew that saved the lucky ones. When a boat goes down that fast😮it's not good😮

..So his VP gets run over by a car and killed only a couple of days earlier, now Mike Lynch is missing and also on board was a chairman of Morgan Stanley Investment Bank that is also missing... There were two boats close together, so one - a state of the art 56 meter yacht gets completely destroyed by the 'water spout' and the other boat close to it, is completely unharmed. It could have been a set of completely freakish events, but logic contests..

It appears that he bravely remained on board, helping to evacuate others. So, I think that he can be recorded as having died a hero. No reason why he should have done a Maxwell - not easy to arrange a typhoon, anyway, even if you are a tycoon.

There have been cases where a Private Act was the easiest way to resolve the problem - Parliament simply declares that the person was deemed to have died on a specified date. That means that, even if he does eventually turn up, he is still, legally, dead, which provides certainty in respect of the administration of his estate. Otherwise, consider the problems - a Grant of Probate is obtained, someone buys his luxury mansion and, five years later, he turns up and tells them to move out, the Grant of Probate was not valid because he is not dead!
