[ hi-09 ] Cuckoo Clock Activation

Saw a few videos of the deadend but couldn't find someone activating the cuckoo clock.
It activates on the hour (not exclusive to midnight, I just thought it was originally), and from what I've seen it doesn't seem to affect anything by being activated (granted, I only wandered around for a bit so don't take my word for it)
Edit with some thoughts/speculation: This cuckoo clock is a non-quartz version, meaning that it doesn't automatically turn off in later hours and its call is made with instruments rather than a prerecording. Its design seems to be similar to Swiss or potentially Soviet clocks (especially Majak bakelite cuckoo clocks), but definitely not German (tend to be extremely intricate) or English (tend to be box-shaped and placed on a surface rather than a wall).
What's interesting about this inclusion is cuckoo birds are brood parasites and essentially act as mimics to enter nests and push out/fatally injure all other chicks from the mother bird. This could potentially be hinting at a major story beat (someone we trust isn't who they seem to be), hinting at a new monster (potentially a shape-shifter?), or something else.

Clarification: This isn't actually exclusive to midnight (I originally thought it was then had a moment of realisation about what a cuckoo-clock is LOL). The cuckoo-clock seems to activate on the hour every hour
