I really think you should use a clip on light on your back or something reflective to make yourself more visible to car traffic. Even just some stick on reflector pads on the back of your skates and helmet would make you much more visible.

I ride my TT bike through traffic of all shapes, sizes, and speeds all the time but I've got multiple flashing lights and reflectors on me and I'm wearing ridiculously bright and clownlike cycling kit. Visibility is the #1 best thing I can do to prevent getting blasted by a car. A $5 LED light that clips on his back would be far cheaper than the copay at the emergency room.
@@Thezuule1 they say an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. but the reality is, sometimes you may never fully regain your original health/ability no matter how much "cure" someone can buy. so it's best to take every measure that you can to prevent any unnecessary risks in the first place

Skating through NYC at night during the power outages in the summer of 2003 was surreal. So many people were out on the streets, few cars and no traffic signals. It was like having a huge park all to yourself.
I've been skateboarding and longboarding my whole life. Never had an interest in rollerblading... that was until i watched this channel. .... now, i am practicing the to not only Rollerblade but to be fast af. You're am inspiration. You should be proud. Good content fosho
I used to rollerblade as a kid, kept up with it until around 18-19 I got into longboarding and then that took over for maybe 15 years. Just getting back into blades and I’m in love with it. I still love my skateboards, I still have a lot I want to do with them, but putting skates on again has given me something I didn’t know I was missing.

I think years of motion-sports stuff has made it so I have a lot of the balance and comfort with momentum to adapt quickly to it. The good news it doesn’t really matter how good I am. It’s fun to do, and that’s all I need.

Nice! I really appreciate inline skate channels with the 360 cameras. So relaxing to watch. I live in Spain and film the same type of acitvity, with one important difference. Skating is prohibited on the roads unless the sidewalk isnt in good condiiton.

I was born in New York and lived there for 35 years. I know a lot about NYC and NYC cab drivers. Got hit twice in my life by them while riding my bike in the city in broad daylight. They saw me just fine. They're always racing to pick up that fare on the next street corner to make their 💰 and if you're in the way, I hope your "reflector" will save you but....prolly not. Btw, the second cab driver that hit me when I was a teenager took off afterwards. But at least if you're a good skater, which Ari obviously is, you can skate fast enough and skillfully enough to outwit the money-grubbing cabbies.. And it's not the "tourist drivers" you have to worry about ....most tourists don't bring their cars into the city anyway. They find other ways to get into this city and then.... they take....*gulp* ...TAXIS! 👍

Thanks for allowing us to skate with you again! BTW, been looking at the helmets that the skate land crowd uses. Your helmet shells are ok. But you typically use an EPS that is too dense and hard with an extremely thin cushion layer. Not sure why. The helmet shell will protect you from very slow impacts. But anything else...not that great. Don't see how that EPS will offer much protection if at all. The impact just gets translated instead of absorbed by the EPS layer.

@@MrAkaprimetime a higher end set could cost you between $200-$300. upgrading the frame (that holds the wheels) could cost another $100-$300 for the best stuff. then there's wheels and other parts. you can always pick up entry level or gently used gear to see how serious you feel about it and go from there

I've only rollerbladed in the city one time with the Wednesday night group and they DID stop for lights as I recall. But when i used to ride my bike there, I would only stop if there were actually cars coming. And people jaywalk in NYC constantly, so ... with the exception of cars....stopping for red lights in the city seems rather optional

People open their doors to throw out garbage, pour out some drink they don't want, or to check that their door is shut all the way. Smoking is still a popular enough thing, as well, to warrant a question. I'm sure plenty of people hang their arms outside of their cars during the summer.

I mean like when going down a hill did it feel alien or just normal or a small adjustment to muscles? Sorry for the long winded message. Love the content. Keep on rolling. 💚✌️
Just switched to 90s from 80s. Feels more stable, if anything. I also upgraded to the endless frame and the slight rocker gives you wicked mobility and is still much superior to my powerslide 80 pro stock frame. Everything felt loads better.

I would honestly stick one on my helmet so I don't forget it or get a helmet with a light built in. The traffic is too crazy to not use a light.
