S2000 is the car you never sell. Its funny how many high end sportscar owners also own an s2000 and enjoy it.
Great comment, I agree, yes lots of S2k owners do have high end cars. For me, it was great value and fun for the money. Probably the best car for the money when you factor in fun and reliability.

I agree, the S2000 are the best sports cars for the money. They are exciting to drive, they hold up much better than European cars. They have much lower insurance costs than American sports cars

Glen I have heard you in the past mention you used a paint thickness gauge on your S2000 when you bought it. What should the readings be if the paint is original? I assume you are looking for a particular range on all panels?
Yes, I don't remember the actual measurements. Usually original paint is about 6 microns, give or take. Every manufacture is different, what you are looking for is consistency for each panel. Both quarter panels should measure the same. If a panel has been repainted, it may read 12 microns, wildly different from the other panel. Usually a double digit number instead of single digits like original paint. The number represents paint thickness.
Still looking for one..........................Owned an AP1 before now thinking go for a AP2 but I'm torn.....
tough decision, two great choices. I prefer Ap2 but I see how the 9k redline of the Ap1 is addicting.

Glen do you have any experience with what it costs to replace the soft top if needed?
I don't. Mine were all low mileage, roof in great shape. This is an aftermarket Robbins top which is supposedly better than OEM. I believe it is about $3k installed.
