This is a STALE NEWS. The Director General of Civil Aviation Authority clarified that on two occasions at the Ministry of Information Tuesday Press Briefing last year 2024 that the ban had been there since 2008. But since her assumption of office Musuyeroh Barrie intimated that she has held discussions with the International Civil Aviation Authority on ways to remove Sierra Leone from the red list. According to her IATA has done trainings with her staff and the last piece of the training is going on now in Italy by some of her staff. She assured us that in the first quarter of this year 2025 Sierra Leone will be out of the ban list. She gave us this assurance, that IATA has promised to remove SL out of the ban list after the last set of training. This will in turn have a rippling effect on the reduction of Flight tickets after the ban will be lifted.

A total of 129 Countries were banned, Sierra Leone has been banned since 2008! It has nothing to do with the current Air Sierra Leone Aeroplane(s) but rather a complex issue
