I think you kinda benefited from not having the subtitles, as halfway through the episode they slow down and lag
The subtitles get delayed at one point and make it a bit weird to understand if you read them so it's better without...
This is basically a kid friendly version of "I have no mouth and must scream".
I must say.. I didn't really loved the look of this show.
I watched maybe one teaser and stamped it off as bad.
The pilot kept showing up in my recommends so I gave it a try...

My theory is that Cain created this world for himself and built a headset that transferred his consciousness into it. But he failed to consider that afterwards he'd had no way of disabling the entrance, so over time others have stumbled upon it as well. So now he takes care of the others as best he's able, despite the fact he's a bit insane himself.
This show is like the exact opposite of _Murder Drones._ It's bright, cheery, and comedic on the outside, but full of darkness, heartbreak, and existential dread on the inside. And I'm going to love it just as much.
So much potential with this story, so fingers crossed they can get funding for a series!

Not sure caine is that evil, he is a bit crazy but he seemed kinda sympathetic when he was trying to make an exit door because they kept mentioning it. And when he creates games for them so that they wont go insane. Eh maybe there will be a darker reveal later... but he seems actually like some caretaker

Yeah. It seems like he’s likely an AI with very little knowledge of how humans work or of the outside world. With what he was able to learn from them he was able to recreate a labyrinthine approximation of the office building that they possibly worked in, but clearly doesn’t have enough info to finish the exit, nor to understand what they truly want or need. He does seem to be trying though.

According to Gooseworx, Caine is an AI programmed to create and maintain a happy wacky cartoon circus world for humans to have fun in, but he’s incapable of actually understanding humans and he can’t interact with the world outside his game.
It's honestly amazing how much internet animation has blown up in less than decade. Hazbin Hotel, Helluva Boss, Murder Drones, Lackadaisy, Ramshackle, this show, and so many other short films/pilots have blossomed and have or are beginning to shine, and that to me is amazing. Despite being a notorious b***h about copyright, UA-cam really is a mostly "friendly" place for potential animation creators and showrunners to be given a chance to strut their stuff.
Also a couple fun facts: Gooseworx was one of composers of the pilot for Hazbin Hotel and the voice of Zooble, Ashley Nichols host of the Hunicast, was a lead cleanup artist for Hazbin Hotel and is also currently developing her own show Far-Fetched.
The whole independent animation scene was something that was never on my radar, but yeah there’s a lot of super talented people out there making great shows

I honestly think I liked this better than Murder Drones episode 1! This hits all the notes I love in horror stuff. A little eldritch, a little liminal, very hopeless. And I like how colorful (no pun intended) the cast is.
Poor Kaufmo.
I can totally see how this could actually be better than MD, but I’m just not there yet. I need to see more, but this is a super strong pilot. I have no doubt it’ll be made into a series. It was Glitch’s fasted video to 1 million views
Imo, its alot better than murder drones just by the pilot alone
1. Insane pacing yet easy to catch up with
2. Didnt let the characters connect very quickly
3. Didnt say a fuck ton of stuff in 1 episode
4. Jax is hot
@@MikeyVentureAs someone who started Murder Drones because of this pilot, so they’re both very fresh in my mind, I’d say this was way better than the first episode of Murder Drones. That said, I’ve heard that Murder Drones only gets better and better as it goes on, so I’m sure at some point I may end up liking it more than this pilot, but I prefer this pilot to that of Murder Drones.
@@BeyonderStar This pilot just feels more polished than murder drones ep 1. The Pacing isn't all over the place and the dialogue feels natural. What makes it even better is that the characters aren't allowed to swear so its automatically less edgy and somebody on the team said there will be zero romance.
Glitch really outdid themselves with this! It came out so good and was just the perfect balance of goofy and unhinged and I just loved how it came out!🔥
It's a very strong pilot. Great core group of characters, which if you have that then you're off to an amazing start
Fun fact: This show (and Murder Drones) is animated using Unreal Engine.
This same software was used to make tons of video games, including ARK, Fortnite, Doom, PUBG, Gears Of War, and Yoshi’s Crafted World.
Cane seems to be some sort of dungeon master he seems to have direct control over the realm and what happens the only thing he doesn’t have control over is the characters minds and since but he seemingly doesn’t have the ability to let them leave because he never finished the exit but is clearly hiding something and knows more than he lets on
actually there are multiple things he cant control in the realm.

I love the bouncy animation and cartoony sound effects.
Jax is indeed an "awful boye" but he's awesome for it

This has to be the best pilot I have seen.
I’ve watched it three times now, and I really enjoyed it on my first watch, but I’m loving it more and more with each viewing
It does its job really well. It sets up the world, introduces and explores the main characters (even Zooble, Gangle, and Kingler who are not even on screen for as much as the others).
The exposition is the most well done and natural I have seen. And the only problem I have seen anyone have with it is the pacing. But that's a problem almost all pilots have, and I personally didn't find anything wrong with it.

You right it really looks like a old horror PC game, which makes me feel both uncomfortable and curious😅. I didn’t like Murder Drones (I’m not a big fan of 3D in general) but I’m more interested by this. Let’s see where it’s going.
The animation was a big reason I was staying away from Murder Drones, but the storytelling and characters were so strong that I was able to look past it. Same thing has happened here for myself haha
I bet "C & A" in the office stands for Cain & Able

23:02 Caine is an AI here in the game here, ADMIN AI would make sense cuz he has backend access like his watch that alerts & pinpoints him where a “cast member” has been astray & immediately he goes there to retrieve easy peasy, whereas it was a long journey for Pomni to b “accidentally” led into the Void. I have some theories of the Void & that exit door like the door for some reason bringing her to the digital aether after dragging her thru the same office rooms is sus.
But back to my point Caine is the admin & enforcer (the non-swearing + the super fast copyright speech, he’s there to make the game kid-friendly but gives warning to users/players that legal action would b taken for misuse of product)of this world, well it’s “his” to control cuz at this point we have no idea who programmed Caine. Let alone knowing who built the whole VR system & why/how their system trapped humans inside for years. 🤔

That’s exactly what I’m saying to make. It actually seem more like it’s in a video game sentence, animated so in real life live action.
7:39 one more, it may have been or STILL is an ongoing experiment. Considering the number of doors crossed out, there were MORE people before. I think there was initially a large amount of people who were play testers of the system. But something(s) gone wrong and they’re unable to take off the headsets. Someone on tumblr counted 26 doors, 26 letters of the alphabet; it’s no coincidence no one’s name has the same letter 🤔
Jax being such a Jackass (a Jaxass if you will) seems like an act to me.
We see another side of him shine through every now and again when he enconunters signs of abstractions, his smile dissapears and his pupils get really small, its like his smug composure all dissapears in an instant.
My theory is that someone close to him got abstracted (or he knows something the others dont) and he has developed this bugs bunny esque carmic trickster attitude as a sort of coping mechanism to not loose himself...
But thats honestly just a guess on my part.
I know you didn't really ask for it but my own theory is that, before being sucked in the digital circus, Jax had a pretty hard life, possibly overworked or surrounded by toxic friends, so when he became a part of the circus, not only he could vent his negative feeling (even if he's being an asshole doing so) but getting rid of his old life allowed him to be "revived" of some sorts ^^
Or he finds the circus an opportunity to say whatever he wants without getting in big trouble
I really hope that the real life counterparts to these characters is just the VAs
I think the headset just made a digital copy of their consciousness and trapped that copy in the digital circus programm
In the initial description their described as human souls so I'm more on the line that it actually them not a copy also considering this is apparently somewhat inspired by I have no mouth but I must scream which was about humans being trapped and tortured by a evil ai
I really hope they make more of Digital Circus, the lore is so mysterious and i wanna see how the characters develop.
Also am i the only one who gets PS1 vibes from this show?? For some reason it feels like a nostalgic early 2000's playstation 1 video game 😄

For myself I need to see more to feel that way, but there's so much potential here for a really interesting story. I can see why many people could prefer this
Jax is basically what would happen if Angel Dust and Alastor had a baby.
This show is going to bring some interesting things for the 3D Era of UA-cam Animation series. As I hope Glitch make it a full series if the money is right for the audience to praise more of. 😄 Also it seems interesting to say that their being some unique characters in this show that have some iconic voice actors in this show.
Like I never knew that Ashley Nichols done the voice for Zoobie as well noticing that Zoobie goes by “They/Them” in this series. As i believe they are the first Non-binary character in this show.
From what I've read, the creator has confirmed that Caine is not evil. He's an AI whose job is to keep the humans comfortable, he just doesn't always understand humans enough to do that well.

This show and Murder Drones are pretty much opposites.
While Murder Drones is dark and horrifying, yet has an undertone of a (kind of) wholesome, cheery atmosphere.
Digital Circus is bright and cheery with a hint of psychologically horrifying and ominous.
Murder Drones’s universe is more my style, so I kind of have a bias towards it, but even so, Digital Circus’s Pilot is really good, and I can’t wait for more.
murder drones has a aesthetic of being dark and horrifying but its not even close to being dark. Not even as a undertone

@@Iso20227 The destruction of the human race is barely addressed at all. The monsters and "cosmic" horrors would be a little dark if it wasn't for the cringe fest of jokes used every few seconds. The series has never taken itself seriously even once throughout all of the 5 episodes

Because if you did, then you’d know that you are literally factually incorrect.
Episode 5 was a little weird, the constant jokes ruined any amount of suspense, and yeah, that was the worst part of the episode.
Episode 6 was much better, and I’d even go as far as to say it was the best in the season so far.
Watch it, it’s good.
If you still have your opinions after you watch episode 6, *then* I’ll give you an argument.
I have a feeling that Jax wasn't always that much of a jerk. I mean who knows how long he's been trapped in that place.
Jax: tragedy is when I get hit in the head by a gloink. Comedy is when Caufmo gets abstracted and is put in absolute pain forever.
This show will definitely make it past a pilot… it hit like 10 million views in a day or two… TV shows from even get that many views! People seem to like this show/concept and I can see it happening
I think some of the rooms have X’s because those are previous people who abstracted (reached their breaking point)
I found this pilot alone more entertaining than the entirety of Murder Drones.
Likewise. Murder Drones tries way too hard to be dark and deep compared to this, I think. It doesn't help its story's convoluted, either; I've watched every episode of it so far and I honestly can't tell you what Murder Drones is about beyond the base premise.
Might have something to do with the show’s writer and character designer; Gooseworx having more experience than MD’s current team.
Just for clarification, I do not think Murder Drones is bad by any means. I find it entertaining, I just have a preference for this.
I have the hardest time differentiating one murder drone from another. Their designs are not inherently unique and identifiable. Unlike these incredibly identifiable guys
Ever heard of the book "I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream"? This show is heavily inspired by that book, but with a more colorful and comedic twist to the whole thing.

I liked your reaction but I give you a suggestion because you provide good comments:
I recommend you pause the video every time you want to talk about what you are talking about because there are dialogues that you need to pay attention to, by talking while the dialogues are passing you will miss the details.
Have it as I recommend as a new sub, without more than saying good video.
This is definitely one of the better reaction channels.

24:57 a lot of things of this show is sus, even the description. It said the show has 5 humans and the arrival of a human woman, presumably Pomni here, making 6. Kaufmo thru me off, I thought he’s some NPC (Jax pointed this outright at the beginning, Caine can make NPCs) of a clown-like character that Pomni would replace. But NOPE, he’s another human that just went bat$#% insane & is presumably thrown down in the well with the OTHER HUMANS THAT WENT B@t$#% CRaZY TOO (look at the crossed out doors and ALL ThE EYES in the cellar ☠️). So it’s technically 6 SURVIVING humans currently living in the game, well 5 we don’t know if Pomni will last long as these 5 did 😅
So basically Caine is an AI who’s trying to be a good host, except that he doesn’t really understand humans especially since there isn’t and never has been an “outside” for him

I mean they sorta had live action(?) It's like those "old ad commercials" in the second trailer which also have some lore clues you can find as well.

The animation reminds me of the older CG kids shows I used to watch as a kid, like “Math Monsters” and “321 Penguins.”

i think the reason why jax is being a dick and a (not giving a shit person) is probably because he wants to make sure he won't go insane and become abstracted. So i think he forces himself with a edgy personality, we also don't know yet how long he has been in the digital circus, while they said that kinger has been the longest, but i think jax was one of the first ones and now has just kept living like this to remain his sanity, this is just my theory tho

Caine is not a player, he’s an AI, he’s also not nessessarily evil, he genuinely tries to help the players but he doesn’t understand human emotions nor does he understand mortality, he gives them all the adventures to help keep them from going crazy but they tend to be deadly because he doesn’t understand the concept of death.
We’ll see…we’ll see

He's definitely an AI, but who created him and why? And the purpose of all of this and how they came to putting these headsets on. There's already so much mystery setup in one episode!

What does it mean by Pilot?
A pilot is an episode that is relatively standalone and is used to essentially test the waters with an audience to see if it's worth putting money towards to make it into a series.

I enjoyed this show than murder drone
I can totally see how this premise and style can be preferred. I need to see more personally, but it's awesome to see that it's being received very positively. Hopefully they get the funding for a series, which I think they will
I wanted to like this reaction, and for the most part I did! But, I tried to ignore some aspects, I really did... sadly a few things just set off my OCD and overloaded my senses. The most noticeable one is the volume of your voice compared to the volume of the video. Because my brain is trying to hear both at the same time. And the second, the occasional switching between full screen of the video, and then the full screen of yourself. That drove my OCD low-key crazy.
Well, sometimes can be difficult to understand some dialogues when commenting about stuff going on, I would recomend leaving the comments after the reaction
So then there’s no point in making a video if I’m not going to comment while watching. Then I’m just sitting there going “oooh” and “ahh” and I have no interest in making a reaction video like that. That’s not me

Caine is not evil.
My Fan Theory, all of the characters are NOT actual humans, but AI constructs created by a personality scan of whoever puts on the "Headset" - The reason they can't remember their name is that nobody is always thinking about their own name, so their name was not at the top of their mind when they put the headset on.
Their shape is based on the personality scan, and without a lifetime of human memories to stabilize their personalities, each one needs to accumulate their own memories. When they over-obsess on something, their personalities become unstable and eventually "Abstract" and become the Shoggoth looking things.

Kaufmo refers to two things. Andy kaufman, and Franz kafka.
Andy Kaufman was someone who pretended to be a comedian but was actually only on stage to make fun of audiences. He was never funny. Not to the audiences. Only two other comedians who heard about what he did to audiences. So he was never funny. Just like kaufmo.
French coffee wrote a novel called metamorphosis where the main character inexplicably transforms into a giant cockroach who couldn't talk anymore. His mind was trapped inside the Cockroach body. It was an allegory for someone who suddenly became disabled and was a burden on his family.
