It was so great to catch up with Phil again and to this time be able to meet his wife and young son too! Often, I get asked what tiny house couples do when they decide to have children and I think this is such a great solution! I hope you all enjoy this weeks episode. With love, Bryce & Rasa
Hi Bryce, this was an awesome catch up. What a gorgeous family, their ethos, their humbleness, their creative spin on everything, their versatile, future proofed, natural, abundant homestead. Wow just wow. Thank you Bryce and Rasa. You never disappoint. I hope one day to share our future tiny house alternative living homestead back here in Aotearoa with you guys too. Thank you, lifes been quite tough lately and this video really cheered me up.
@Ellie5621 It is Salt Spring, one of the mildest climates in Canada. You rarely have to stay indoors for days on end... if you do, you're probably sick in bed or just plain wimpy.
Man, you're such a good interviewer! You're engaging, always ask relevant questions, and are genuinely interested in the people you interview. Some TV show hosts could take notes from you.
This could be the start of a new "revisited" sub series. It would be interesting to see where many of the people are now and whether they've stuck with the tiny lifestyle.
@@TammyGrosso me too, I know on THN which is a little fake to me, there were so many for sale the first 3 years of the show, tiny house listing made it hard to search by putting in the name of the show. One was for sale before they aired! This show is different, people build them and live in them and it's not for publicity.
I think I was ahead of the tiny house movement, we called it poverty! I adore this little house under the mountain, and would love to see more of others.
This is legitimately one of the most inspiring channels on UA-cam. Just happened to catch this one minute after it was uploaded and thought I'd share my appreciation. :)
It certainly delegitimizes owning property, which is known for building and keeping wealth. This channel is certainly an inspiration hobby for many people who think paying down a mortgage is cliche and so daunting.
I never get tired of watching your videos. They always bring a message of positiveness and happiness through simplicity. It's enchanting, thank you very much!
Building a second place for their child is a great idea. Having your own space as a child / young adult is very important and its good that they realize it!
This !! And it's also great that they are aware that ofcourse the child will get older and the small space wouldn't work as much anymore as I've seen with some other parents only having small bedroom situations for their kids which is ridiculous and not fair on the child/ children in an already enclosed space . It's so great and will make it easier on the whole family dynamics ☺️
The house is nice but it seems that their relationship would make the houses a home! Love the fact that she is able to be home with their child & that he has more time to spend with his family instead of being overworked. To me houses aren’t really special but it’s the family relationship that makes life special. It’s that wonderful wife that makes you feel like you can’t wait to get home knowing she is anxious to see you too & greet you with love. The more simple we make our lives the more we can enjoy peace, nature & the things that make life worth living💯
The little woman waiting at home to greet her man only works if you can find two people willing to go with a more traditional relationship. This would definitely not work for me, as I am a career person--and a woman, by the way. And I've seen plenty of Bryce's videos that show amazing family/couple relationships that aren't necessarily so traditional, esp. the video about Jaimie and Dave's shipping container home which they built together, even working through Dave's spontaneous intercranial hemorrhage. Indeed, many of the comments focus on the couple's relationship, rather than their amazing tiny house. THAT is inspiring to me.
Another great video as always. Bryce and Rasa, you have heavily influenced our decision to go tiny and build our own home! The interviews on this channel are great because they are always honest about the good AND the bad. This really helps people make an informed decision for their home!
"The real artist is nature..."" -Phil i felt the love and pure emotion of Phil being a good father! yes! im really addictive to this channel, thanks Bryce and Rasa!

I love the way they they have added a new tiny home to allow more space for their growing family, rather than selling up. Its more than just a house, but a way of living altogether
The door, THE FRONT DOOR!!!!!!!! I have to live like this, it’s a real life nursery rhyme - magical! The garden, the windows - everything. Your normal is my dream. The real artist is nature 🤘🤘🤘
I think these “revisit” videos are so terrific! Thanks Bryce. Would love to see everyone even a THIRD time if possible. It’s just fun to see how they’ve all grown and changed, and to get their feelings in their on living after a couple of years’ experience.
This couple is incredibly talented. I love all of the branches tied in and whimsical touches. Great idea to use two tiny houses for different things. The outside look of each home is also so unique as well. Smart and talented!
It would be wonderful, as the movement continues to grow, to have a website that has a list of cities/communities that will allow tiny homes. Also, each community's rules for tiny homes would be great. For instance, my city, Des Moines, Iowa USA hasn't approved actual tiny homes that aren't on trailers yet, but they did approve a plan for 24 containers to be made into a sort of apartment building for the homeless.
Fire_Element - That depends on the person. It may be the best way for you and others, but not for someone else. I lived in a 26' travel trailer with slide-out for 2 years and did ok. I know what it's like to live tiny. I have my hobbies and need room for them. I'm in a very old, tiny 2 bdrm home in the country now and feel this is the best way for me. : )
So nice seeing this couple again. Phil's first house inspired me to start doing my drift wood work again which brings me hours of pleasure. Thank you Bryce for the update on this lovely family.
There’s another tiny house behind the others ...🤔. Because of you, I have really altered my view of what I wanted to suit the needs of my large family coming to visit me. I always imagined an old Hacienda style, u-shaped building, with a courtyard. Now? Tiny homes!! Around a garden courtyard Brilliant! Self contained, off grid, eco friendly, the list goes on. I have even changed the way I live in my current home, the way I garden, the way I use utilities and store water. It’s because of you two. Your personality is perfect for the interview, the camera Loves you Bryce. And Rasa sure knows the shots to get! Plus, hands down the best editing. Bryce is such an amazing interviewer and really what Phil has created it's like a dream house and the outdoor looks so beautiful 💕💕well nothing could be more magnificent than nature itself 😊❤
"We didn't need that many toys" I loved this!! Kids get bored too soon with most toys, and eventually they can become a waste - having the adventure of outdoors is a child's greatest toy 😭♥️
Not only is this a practical and reasonable expansion plan, in particular with the new baby but it works & makes sense and has beautiful surroundings on top of it. Plus, much of it is changeable & flexible as their child grows. Best to them all!
They definitely need a big front deck, which will totally change the the way that this homestead looks. Well organized and thought-out. Insted of changing the lifestyle they like, they made an addition, very smart 🤗

Thanks for another heartwarming episode! What a delightful family! What a sweet mother who allows her husband time to sleep during the night! She must be exhausted! Love this family! They have their priorities straight!! Happy Family!
Why bother having a child with someone who isn't going to be a full partner? I keep seeing he has to go to work the next day, but what do people think she is doing? Also, working. Taking care of a child is work, it's not that easy to keep a tiny human alive, especially with little sleep.
She did not seem too happy that he is sleeping in a different place. Cosleeping dads adjust to the little bit of noise in the night. Babies that cosleep and nurse do NOT stir and cry much if the mom isn't overtired from ignoring her sleep needs. Nursing mothers never go into REM sleep and therefore are aware enough to wake up from just a few little nudges and grunts from baby.
Bryce...this one is hands down officially the best video of 2019. I have never shared your videos with my friends or colleagues on my social media...but this one, I will. For a very simple reason : the peace and calm on this young couple's face strikes a special note for me and make me pause think...what are we running towards. Thankyou for sharing this video with us. What a charming couple, lovely homes and so anchored in on the lifestyle they have chosen. I think, if I can say so, that they just may have hit on a really important aspect that many (not all), need and crave...alone time. It is already incorporated into their plan. Many in my gen. feel like we caught short shrift w. regards to dad time...instead we got Dr. Spock and rules and regs and formula(s) in bottles and otherwise. So pleased to see many in this gen. breaking out of the usual mould and embracing the importance of family. I have one of 3 boys who are setting out roots in this direction. A cabin up north where they may spend the summer. He is a business owner, she the consummate wife and mother w. 3 daughters. I hope those girls learn about the importance of family and what it means to BE a family! The tiny home movement embraces that ideal to a T! You make screen time so pleasant & enjoyable. You're kind and very gracious. It's a joy to watch your show. Thank you.
I could use so many words, but this is simply STUNNING!!! Awesome 👏 idea and job. Love the use of natural wood. He’s correct in saying nature is the artist.
I love how they created a second tiny house for their expanded family, with the same whimsical feel the first tiny house has. There is such beautiful wood and artistic elements that they both tie in to each other perfectly. Thank you Bryce for sharing this update on this adorable couple and their new son. This was a fun one to watch.
Such a good example of a loving husband and dad caring for his son and family. Got a cute little baby boy, a gift from above. I was smiling the entire time I was watching this video. Such amazing homes, and a lovely beautiful couple! I really love their energy and how humble they are. ☺️
Its a beautiful design with perfect layout of every tiny detailing of your tiny house.Phil your humble and beautiful thoughts made it a part of Nature, who is a creator or architect of this beautiful earth.Just say perfect for your tiny beautiful home.
I love their lifestyle..They are such a beautiful loving family and it makes me happy to see people like this so happy and loving life. Their two tiny homes are absolute inspirational. Thanks so much!
So cool! We have 4 kids and I've often daydreamed about how we could still do it with 2 but so far we just use tiny house principles in our 1300'sq traditional home.
@@tlqpansy It's so true! I never thought of it like that before but you're so right. If one person can live "tiny" in 350sqft by themselves certainly a family of 6 or 7 living in something 4 times the size should still be considered part of the tiny community. Also congrats on your seventh family member!!
Hey Bruce. We love your videos! My 7 year old daughter loves watching them with me regularly. She told me today that she “really likes that man”. When I asked her why, she said “because he shows us different kinds of mini houses”. Thanks for all you do. -Easton and Noelle
Adorable little family. I saw the first video of their tiny home. Their second tiny is just as beautiful as the first one they built. Looking forward to seeing more from them. Definitely one of my top faves that you have featured on your channel. 💜💚💜💚💜
very cozy and nice tiny houses...it would have been nicer if it can be connected as L shape then disconnect while travelling..that way it is more secure and connected as in one bigger space.
Phil and Cynthia are two remarkable people and parents. They're visionaries. Like you Bryce, I would love to revisit them in a couple of years and see where they are then. I'm sure we can't even imagine what that will be like! Thanks Bryce, another awesome video. Be well my friend, take care. ;)

Love it when you revisit tiny homes. When you used the drone at the end it looked like there were 3 tiny houses Yes/no? We love this channel!! Thank you for sharing these beautiful tiny homes :).
These people are my absolute favorite couple! What a beautiful outlook on life they have. And the idea of a new room for each child, it's lovely to see that concept bought back. Beautiful features- nearly a magical feeling about the place. I'm so envious, but glad these beautiful people have made themselves such a wonderful place to raise their family ❤👏❤❤👏
This is such a lovely setup. At first I was like “Why?” Then looking through both the beautiful house I totally understand. I absolutely LOVE the homes and the entire area. I would live there in a heart beat. Just gorgeous and such a sweet sweet family! ❤️
Loved seeing this as my partner and I want to set up something similar with one tiny house being for living, and one for working (we work in film and boy oh boy are we on the computer a lot editing) and let’s be honest... we’ll probably need to put a bed in that in that one for our alone time. Thanks for featuring this inspirational couple once again! Everyone needs space, especially once a new family member arrives, and I love how honest they are about that.
Often in your videos we see another out-building next to the tiny house. In many instances, this out-building is not explained to the viewer. Could it be a storage shed, one that would lend more understanding of how individuals live tiny by storing extra gear and belongings there. I love your videos but would love to have this element brought more into the light. Thank you!
This is what I am in the process of doing. Building my first main tiny house for myself, mom and my two kiddos. As they get older I will build two more. I don’t want them to have to ever worry about having a roof over their head. These are beautiful!
Wonderful video and wonderful family! I second that idea of a 'revisted' series...catching up with tiny home dwellers to see what they've changed, what they'd do differently, and what they absolutely love!
Such a sweet family. And lovely personal spaces. My husband and I will build "his 'n her's" tiny homes when we retire in a couple more years. Really looking forward to it.

You have such a wonderful demeanor; you make everyone around you light up - yes, I think you bring out the sweet, gentle side of your interviewees! I catch myself smiling the whole time I'm watching. You make screen time so pleasant & enjoyable. You're kind and very gracious. It's a joy to watch your show. Thank you.
i love it i love it i love it. This guy has got an amazing taste when it comes to decorating
So nice couple!! That's why their cute baby smiles all the time. They are so happy and they love each other. I wish them the best!!
Amazing that he can see what the application can be by just looking at the driftwood.
Phil did it again . Always something magic about those Arch doors and NW driftwood touches . the 2nd house has a Lady's touch too i think . 🤙
He sure did!
Such a good example of a loving husband and dad caring for his son and family. Got a cute little baby boy, a gift from above.
America is still a beautiful country to live in and there is still hope for America. All is not lost, we Christians will always be praying for America. Shalom and Godspeed and have a blessed Christmas and Happy New year
If I had that guy's creativity and skills, I'd build a tiny home for sure.
Judging from your vids you definitely have the ability to gain the skills necessary so why not go for it
@@Michael-gb3cj Thank you for your kind words and encouragement.
You could definitely do it!
To find a new video from your channel on a Saturday morning, perfect start to the weekend.
Beautiful place and a beautiful family.....Stay happy and healthy.
Good to see them again, love the calm and happy energy they give out.
Very love this channel, i will make Tiny house too🙏😇
I love their lifestyle..They are such a beautiful loving family and it makes me happy to see people like this so happy and loving life. Their two tiny homes are absolute inspirational. Thanks so much!
Beautiful houses from a talented couple and joy for their child.
What a beautiful addition to their family and tiny home! Thank you, Bryce!
We love the elements of Mother Earth throughout both houses.
So cool! We have 4 kids and I've often daydreamed about how we could still do it with 2 but so far we just use tiny house principles in our 1300'sq traditional home.
Same here! So far I can squeeze us into a 10x44ft tiny home with 2 lofts but that’s on the bigger end of tiny and most people don’t think it counts.
@@evie6811 it's not fair... "tiny house" should be decided on Sq ft/resident not total dwelling size. We had another baby so 7 in 1300'sq =
❤😊mini houses 🏘️
Very cool video.. very cool family .. And what a brilliant mother . To let her husband sleep ..She is absolutely genius
Adorable little family.
I saw the first video of their tiny home. Their second tiny is just as beautiful as the first one they built. Looking forward to seeing more from them.
Definitely one of my top faves that you have featured on your channel.
💜💚💜💚💜
Thanks Jo! Glad you enjoyed the tour.
very cozy and nice tiny houses...it would have been nicer if it can be connected as L shape then disconnect while travelling..that way it is more secure and connected as in one bigger space.
Phil and Cynthia are two remarkable people and parents. They're visionaries. Like you Bryce, I would love to revisit them in a couple of years and see where they are then. I'm sure we can't even imagine what that will be like! Thanks Bryce, another awesome video. Be well my friend, take care. ;)
can't wait to meet weekend to watch your videos. great job Bryce and Rasa
Thanks!!!
Two beautiful little nests, awesome!!👍🏻😃 Baby's crib is unique and stunning! And the wee Baby himself is the most adorable little elf, CONGRATULATIONS Mummy and Daddy!! Wishing you all a beautiful happy future in your little nests!🤗💖🍀🐾🌈☮️🇨🇦
Love it when you revisit tiny homes. When you used the drone at the end it looked like there were 3 tiny houses
Yes/no? We love this channel!! Thank you for sharing these beautiful tiny homes :).
I loved the total package..indoors amd out. I could see a deck with cover being built to walk out of rain and not in mud and slush/snow
very little snow on Salt Spring
I think this is my absolute favorite tiny house of all the ones I've seen on your channel! This was surreal with beauty!
Absolutely my most favorite tiny home!!! So pretty inside and out. Now you have built a second one. What a wonderful thought for your baby’s future.
What a wonderful way to live and raise your children. Very admirable.
Such a beautiful couple! Congratulations on having a baby! The Driftwood makes the home look magical. It's all so charming, cozy and beautiful. 👍👍👍
Wonderful video and wonderful family! I second that idea of a 'revisted' series...catching up with tiny home dwellers to see what they've changed, what they'd do differently, and what they absolutely love!
You always bring the most amazing people into our lives. Bless you 💕
I feel so jealous 😁wow this is so Amazing and inspiring 😍😍thank you for this video
Wow beautiful homes, and people ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
I love their house! It’s beautiful!
Thanks Emma!
These videos always make me smile.
When he said "the real artist is the nature" I just wanted to hug the guy,
Lovely house, lovely family!
Congratulations on your new additions. Beautiful❤️
Love the concept two tiny homes, very spacious and beautiful ❤️
It works sometimes, I see a musician couple that did that, sold theirs a couple of years later.
They are so lovely as a couple and as parents, and their tiny homes and the landscape they have created is beautiful 😍 I'd love to live like this!!
You have such a wonderful caring nature towards every one
Such a beautiful twin house and what a amazing property, simply WOW ♥️♥️♥️
Glad you like it! Thanks for watching.
Those handshakes were everything.
Such a sweet family. And lovely personal spaces. My husband and I will build "his 'n her's" tiny homes when we retire in a couple more years. Really looking forward to it.
What beautiful homes!! Love their whole layout of the garden, the solar, their hammock chair seating area. What fun!
❤️💜💚
