Thank you for posting this! I'm amazed you've left it up so long being you're not outdoorsy. I love sitting in mine nearly everyday. *FYIs;* white does not absorb the sunlight like black does. We use cheap clothesline because it doesn't break as easy, and usually lasts a few years. Adorn guidelines with beads and/or toys if your kids or anyone keeps getting hung up. At a party, I've seen garland wrapped around it too. Theme friendly!! Also, campers will small children wrap theirs in mini lights, making it trip-free after dark. That grommet hole is supposed to drain rain. You could add grommets or velcro strips (sewn on is my choice) to use for more tie-downs (which would help hide the frame), or use $1 wooden spoon (whittled) unless you can find a post with a split end. The split end is hooked onto the frame with a pointed end set into the grommet hole to hold it up. Then the rain will not collect and discolor the material. Push the hole taunt and measure to the frame, allowing for a point to add half an inch on the length. You can paint it the same color as the material for it to seemingly disappear. I'd still tie it though, in case the wind loosens it, as it could fall. *Waterproof after washing?* Waterproofing usually only lasts 2-3 years IF you don't use soap or chemicals (even vinegar), which will remove the waterproofing agent. Spraying with a hose 'sideways' to knock off debris should not remove much waterproofing. You can either use natural elements, such as candle wax or coconut oil (which is a lot of rubbing and wiping), or buy a can of waterproofing spray. Let material dry absolutely completely before storing. Do not dry in a dryer! However, you can wash it in a front loader since there is no agitator for the material to wrap around, which causes tearing. Then, you will need to waterproof the material after washing it in a front loading machine.
We got the same one this year and you can't beat it for the price at Big Lots, I used a welcome15 coupon and that helped me justify the purchase. I think since we're in Houston we're going to do the same and take it down in late fall and store it until February/March. I used some waterproofing spray on ours and it's helped with the mold SO FAR. Maybe when you put it back up you can do the same and have a link to that as well! Thanks for sharing.
I got one and my husband and I pur it up today. The assembly was fairly easy. Literally as soon as we finished hanging up the mesh a breeze (not a gust of wind) came through and blew it over. The gazebo snapped and broke immediately. $130 bucks down the drain. Wondering now if Big Lots will refund my money?
We have the same gazebo and just today it was ruined due to the plastic ring that you tie the tie down to at the top of the frame BROKE and thus the tie down released and wind blew it over. I’m so mad. All the other ones held so had that one not broken I’m sure my gazebo would still be standing. Calling manufacturer and telling them to replace due to defect in material.
How long had you had it, and how did the manufacturer resolve it for you? I know I’m an entire year late, but I’m just seeing this review and reading some of the comments. I’m so sorry that happened to your gazebo.
There are setup videos. I'm thinking about getting a single person setup gazebo for Father's Day. They have a palm button in the middle, he (haha) uses to push up until it clicks. Then, each leg is extended to a good height. They have different thicknesses on the frame and legs. So, shopping...
I just bought one from big lots last weekend for $69.99. I love your tips thanks for posting
Wow and now in 2024 it's $129.00

Great info!!! Just got one today. I’ll go buy the waterproofing spray like you suggest. can you recommend one? Thanks for all of the details!!!
These pop-ups are notorious for pooling and water pouring through the holes. I returned mine for that reason 😁
Very thorough and helpful. Thank you!

It’s looks get. I just picked up one today. Thanks for sharing.
Do you think dark weather curtains can hang on the same string as the net?

The are holes on the top of the canopy, how do you stop rain from getting inside?
Can you take down the gazebo without taking off the canopy.
How do you secure it on a concrete patio? Cant drive the stakes into pavement

Did they honor a manufacturer's defect?

You made a cool video
How did you attach the netting

What exactly is the issue? Do you still have it?
Hi do u think I Can drill it to ground instead of using strung or sand bag?
I take down in Sept and leave the framing. We screwed to deck. Back up in May, but hard to find canopy replacement.
I can’t get the top to click in ! Any suggestions?
Neither can I unfortunately. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Beautiful!!!
