If you ever go on a cruise out of SF Bay, the Coast Guard gives the ship an escort (2 Coast Guard boats), with gunners on the bow. Sometimes they give us a show and start hot dogging their boats showing us off under the Golden Gate Bridge. I have a lot of respect for our military. Makes me want to book a cruise just to see the Coast Guard escorts. You should see them get after the wind surfers who look like they want to get close to the ship.
To let everyone know who has not gone through this. This is an inspection not a search. The coast guard does not need any warrant to conduct an inspection of required safety gear. It's called federal law. If your curious Google it.
Inspection and Search is the same. You still need under the Constitution to have Legal cause to stop an American from going about their daily lives. Nothing Trumps the Constitution. They try to make laws that are not legal and do not stand up in court.
How is this constitutional? Stopping Vessels for life jackets and other BS because 14 U.S.C. § 89(a) trumps the Constitution? This needs to be challenged in the supreme court. Two major issues with this: 1. Military being used against United states citizens is almost a form of marshall law. Even though they Claim DHS. 2. There is no Reasonable articulable suspicion that they are in violation of any law. 3.when it comes to search and rescue local LE, fire, commercial salvage, and other nearby mariners beat USCG to saves because they have to wait for multiple persmissions from every level of command to launch. They cant even put out a vessel fire unless it almost kills somebody. 4. USCG should just break ice because thats all there efficienct at. 5. I joined the army because the CG is a joke.
@@RMwalkwithJesus Yes its an inspection of required equipment as per 46 CFR 25 for recreational vessels and part 28 for commercial fishing vessels. You don't have a right to own a boat. To many idiots were dying out at sea because they thought they could just launch a vessel they just bought with zero safety gear on board. Yes we the Coast Guard inspect that gear to ensure that lets say if you forget to put your drain plug in or want to go fishing during a tropical storm that you have the required gear to possibly save your life until help arrives. Speaking of which we are a branch with 44k active duty and a budget that is probably as big as the Army's ammo budget yet we actually perform more missions on a daily basis.
Interesting how they kept the firearm on the floor. When in the State of Florida it is legal to open carry a firearm while Fishing, Hunting or Camping.
maritime law is not the same... They have unchecked powers to board detain and fine! Even though they are now considered law enforcment thanks to Bush!
Love these guys. They save many lives. I used to do inspections. Biggest items were expired flares, no placards for waste, waste valves not secured, for larger boats rules of navigation book not onboard. Most good boaters have all else but tend to overlook those items.
Jeremy, great video and great channel. If any boater is unsure of what they need on their vessel while underway, the Coast Guard actually has a great phone app that will tell you that and more. The app also has a float plan you can fill our before getting underway to send to someone you trust as an added safety feature. Also, the Coast Guard Auxiliary does free vessel safety checks. The will go thru your vessel just like the active duty does and let you know whether or not you have everything you need. And the great thing is they do not report anything to law enforcement. Fair Winds and Following Seas and keep up the great work.
I have my boat Coast Guard safety inspected every year and in doing that they put inspected stickers port and starboard in clear view, do that and they’ll leave you alone 70% of the time.
Some people go out on their boats without a radio which if they are declared missing takes a up a lot of resources because nobody could contact them. The Uk coastguard will check your boat for safety stuff too.
Those Guys were OK , I realize its a bit of a hassle , but they are the same men who will save your life too! I thought this was a great video and thanks for sharing ! J...
If you get your boat safety checked every season by the coast guard, it will stop a lot of these stops looking for safety equipment checks. They will give you a sticker (at least in Jersey they do) and at the very least it will give them a reason NOT to stop / board your boat to do a safety check and move onto those without the stickers... Now a check for what you caught or for proper licenses not so much so they may still stop you for that. We do it every year at our marina in Jersey at the beginning of boating season and get the sticker just one less hassle to deal with.
Like seeing videos like this...iv never ran into water enforcement that was not super professional. I’m with y’all on the not drinking part. And if I do have guests, I make sure the boat stays clean (no empties flying around). One thing that’s important for all boaters to learn is when you’re getting pulled over...is to simply stop the boat and let them come to you (pending the spot is generally safe for a non-moving boat but signal by hand acknowledging contact if you need to move before stopping).
Logan B ...we have Coast Guard, Sheriff, and Game Warden all on the water and all can perform vessel inspections. So water enforcement kinda sums them all up.
Seeing the black boots being worn by the USCG boarding party reminded me of this story. In 1977, as a brand new USCG Ensign, I was assigned to the USCG Eighth District, Intelligence and Law Enforcement Branch, New Orleans, LA as the Assistant Branch Chief AKA: Shitty Little Jobs Officer. My first project was to write a response to a Congressional Query about a USCG boarding somewhere in the Eighth District ( St Marks River in the panhandle of Florida to Brownsville, TX). A person wrote a letter to his/her Congressman complaining about “black scuff marks” left on the deck of his boat by the black hard rubber soles of the work shoes of the USCG boarding party. So, I wrote what I thought was a professional response telling the complaining boat owner “Sorry about the scuff marks, but the USCG has a maritime law enforcement job to do and our boarding crew was doing their job”. Did I mention that prior to joining the USCG, I’d been a police officer for three years. I had to tone down the “Admiral’s response”. I completed my three (3) year commitment after getting my commission and went back to being a police officer/deputy sheriff. Eventually, I was hired by the US Customs Service as a US Customs Patrol Officer and US Customs Special Agent. My time in the USCG was a valuable learning experience.
I remember those days! Recreation boardings are much easier than commercial. Yes....they check the standard equipment thats required. And he's absolutely right, when being asked if you have any weapons on board, explain, where it is, DO NOT reach for it. And yes....if the operator appears drunk, they will conduct a field sobriety. Operating a vessel while intoxicated is illegal. Wonder if they still use the 4100 form?
Why is it a federal law enforcement agent's business if I have a legally possessed firearm? How would I know off my guests on board are carrying - I don't frisk them when they clip aboard. That initial questions seems invasive, silly and outside their jurisdiction. Besides, Aren't lots of things on a boat weapons? Knives in the galley,, ice pick, boat hook, a fire extinguisher to the biggie will ruin someone's day, etc etc
To all the commenters that keep posting the lines about unreasonable search and forth amendment. This is not a search. They are not going around the boat searching for anything. This is a safety inspection. They are asking if he has all the required gear to be on the water. All any boater is required to do is show the CG all the gear they say is asked for as required by maritime laws. Thats it. Just like a car inspection. Also, if you were inspected that year/season already, just show them the receipt and they dont inspect again. It turns into a search if they have probable cause of a crime committed, not because they cant see all the life vests on board. As for the firearm, they asked. If you are legally allowed to carry in the waters off the state you are floating in, then there is no problem with telling them. If they dont ask, you are not required to tell them anything if the state laws says you do not have to during a boat safety inspection. Check your laws. And before folks start quoting federal statutes ... They apply in federal waters. As a boater in state waters you are bound by state laws and they cannot conflict with federal laws. If they conflict, state laws win so long as you reside the state. Venture out into federal waters then obey those rules. I'm no lawer, just read a lot of law. Check these yourself, or just go ask them at the CG station to provide the statues. Being nice and polite goes a long way.
My family was boarded at 1 am on July 5th a few years ago by cg from Gloucester ma. We had a couple fourth of July drinks earlier. We had all the equipment and it went just as smooth as this video but it was the middle of the night
Connor Shekelstein I'm not a cop, I'm a firefighter. Cops don't just go around judging people. Sometimes some individuals are more shady than others so they are more bound to catch an officers attention.
so does a little defiance. a little more defiance and maybe they would think twice about stopping someone like this again. Juste depends which side youre on, do you become fearful and lick the boot to make things easier? or are you the type of person who has the strength to take a stand to help others in the future.. i see which side your on
I was brought up with respect for law enforcement. My dad was a river rat. He had alot of respect for the USCG. The stuff they check for will be the very things needed when things turn bad.
yeah but getting shot in the back by someone who just hates any form of authority whatever the reason, is not very safe for them. And what happens if they do a safety check aboard a vessel smuggling coke or something, discover it and they don't know where the guns are. Many of these procedures are written in blood, because they to have a right to go home at the end of the day. @@ccasta7393

Its very simple "yes sir, no sir.....have a nice day sir" and you will get a form indicating you have been boarded so next time they won't board you til next season. I have been boating on Cape Cod for 35 years and been boarded probably 10 times for routine inspection. Never had an issue and generally they are very polite and to the point.
"Yes" and "no" are fine as they're NCOs and not commissioned officers. I was attached to Group Woods Hole and might of being one the guys that boarded your vessel. If people were cool with me I was cool with them. Thanks for being polite to us.
See? I tell people that as long as you comply, and show respect and just make their jobs easy, you’ll usually get the same in return be it from the coast guard to local law enforcement
I got safety checked last year by the coast gaurd and they was nice, even let my seven year old son on their boat to check it out.Im good with their safety checks but I wouldn't have been ok with him sliding my firearm across the floor of the boat.
Great video. I find if you are respectful to the Coast Guard , they will always respond in kind. Kudos to maintaining all current safety gear. Thank you.
They won't say it when they are inspecting your boat for all the required safety items but they are also looking for drugs and weapons being smuggled and also they are looking for humans who are being smuggled into the U.S. I have been searched by the Mexican border guards going into Mexico and they flat out told me to empty all the firewood I had in the back of my truck. We were just on a surfing/camping trip. They said they thought I had guns under the firewood. I told them to unload it themselves and they peeked under a few pieces and let me go on through.
If they were searching for drugs there would have been more than 2 of them boarding and the boat wouldn't have just dropped them off. Not to mention their demeanor would have been remarkably different. The CG doesn't just search for drugs unless they have suspicion. This was simply a safety check to ensure the captain and his vessel were complying with boater's regulations.
For all of of you people talking about this being "unconstitutional" know that when the revenue cutter service was created in 1790, it was America's only maritime law enforcement not to mention the only seagoing military branch. We had a strong need to enforce tariffs and defend our ports. The laws the coast guard have today are still the same as they were then and the coast guard is the only branch that has total jurisdiction of us waters and can board any US vessel anywhere. A quick look into the history of our country has shown many times the coast guard has used their law enforcement capability to save lives of many and defend America from countless threats. 14 USC 86 may have been written in the 40s but it comes from policy that was written pre constitution
Unconstitutional law is not law. Pigs could have legally been shot. A case like this already happened and the mans charges were dismissed by a federal jury, setting federal precedent, cases below. "A federal jury has found a man accused of firing at a U.S. Coast Guard crew not guilty of both weapons charges handed down in an indictment by a grand jury in September. Daniel Michael Szabo, 41, was facing a possible life prison sentence for charges of trying to kill a Coast Guard officer during a boarding and using a firearm while committing a violent crime. But jurors on April 6 only found Szabo guilty of failing to stop his vessel when ordered to do so by the Coast Guard." “When a person, being without fault, is in a place where he has a right to be, is violently assaulted, he may, without retreating, repel by force, and if, in the reasonable exercise of his right of self defense, his assailant is killed, he is justified.” Runyan v. State, 57 Ind. 80; Miller v. State, 74 Ind. 1. “These principles apply as well to an officer attempting to make an arrest, who abuses his authority and transcends the bounds thereof by the use of unnecessary force and violence, as they do to a private individual who unlawfully uses such force and violence.” Jones v. State, 26 Tex. App. I; Beaverts v. State, 4 Tex. App. 1 75; Skidmore v. State, 43 Tex. 93, 903."
I respect the Coast Guard and appreciate all they do. Having said that, it seems now days you cant go fishing anywhere, lakes rivers or ocean without some enforcement officer of some branch of Government intruding on a nice day fishing. I don't remember it that way 40 years ago. When I grew up we really DID have freedom and rarely if ever encountered law enforcement.
More boats on the water and a tighter CG budget has lead to this (on their side at least). More resources in the area also means if your day goes south they can get to you quicker. Plus if you've been boarded within a year's time then show them the copy of your inspection report. If no major discrepancies still exist then they'll be on their way.
This is how it should be, here in Va Beach the cops are exceptionally rude to tourists on the ocean front.Instead of explaining the issue they threaten you.Not good for business at all.
I've never been to Va Beach; I live on the West Coast. But with respect to Va Beach Police, they probably deal with a LOT of touristy douchebags who are almost always drunk and causing problems; especially on Spring Break. I don't think my attitude would be peachy either if I was in their shoes. They probably signed up thinking it was going to be like something out of "Bay Watch": hot girls, beautiful beaches, awesome weather, laid back atmosphere, cool cars and gear.....only to find out that they're having to deal with fat drunks at Bob's Biker Bar, college kids OD'ing on drugs, and things like that. But again: I've never been to Virginia Beach, so there you go.
I grew up in Va Beach back in the seventies, graduating from Kellam High in 81. It was a really nice place back then. The population has exploded over the last forty years though, and with it has come big city problems. I sure wouldn’t want to be a cop there now.
The Silenced Gamer the USCG has many boats since they do so many different missions, hoardings, search and rescue, research, diving, patrols, pollution, etc.
I am joining the Coast Guard straight out of high school. I will be doing the 8 weeks of basic then the 7 weeks of Maritime. I hope I pass math though.
I would recommend trying a line to your throwable. In the unlikely event that you had to use it you could pull the person in the water back to the boat. Plus, if you make a bad throw you could retrieve it to throw again.
etikkboksen you must be blind to not see that the coast guard is not only for migrants/drug runners....they're mostly out there for boaters safety, sniff your own boots bud.
I know that, I like them when they rescue, I hate them when act as cops. Sorry for calling you a boot sniffer, it was really childish of me, I had few beer too much i think. Have a good summer, stay safe at sea.
Same here man, they really are good people.....same as anyone who goes out from the mainland, they want to make it home too. Just remember they need to act as big brother too not just a standby presence, the majority of what we/they do is public safety! Stay safe!

Sometimes though, they don't really know everything about their job. One time when I was boarded, they told me I had an infraction; I asked them to please verify that was the case, and after some going back and forth he finally did go back to check and realized he was in the wrong and that there was no infraction. Above all, be friendly and polite even when they yell at you (sometimes they do to me even when I am respectful to them), making your kids cry, and there won't be a problem in the end. Most of these guys are kids that just want to do their job, and for the most part they want us to be safe.
I'm a retired merchant marine, I proudly fly my coast guard and merchant marine flags. I also have a baseball cap specially made for me, with the merchant marine logo on it
Great video. USCG boarding teams have a tough job, just be respectful and it will go well. However, the USCG boarding team needs to zip up those PFDs for them to be effective. I know it is hot and uncomfortable but if they fall in, especially with all the other gear, having the PPE slip off makes a bad situation worse. Semper Paratus!
The Coast Guard has a tough, dangerous job. We do not enjoy the same 'rights'/protections when on a boat. Thank you for posting. I like you channel! I've been boarded twice in 45+ years of boating. Both times were similar to yours. They were polite and professional and my boats are always in compliance. Just curious, you were speaking clearly during the boarding, but in non-boarding part of the video I was not able to understand some of what you were saying.
A good thing to do if you belong to a marina is a yearly vessel check, our marina has some certified people to go over our boat then tell us if we need to change anything then we put a sticker on the windshield so we don’t have to deal with random stops
This is what all boat crews are trained to do at a small boat station. This is just extra duties, the rating is what they normally do when not boarding boats.
Nope, the constitution is clear about law enforcement searching your property without a warrant. These tools do it regularly. In Nazi Germany these kids would have been Nazi's. There is no honor in any organization that does this to people.
hmmm at 2:45 I noticed that the coast guard member said "whether you sit on it or umm yea." think he needs to look back over the boater safety course which specifically says that type IV throwables are not to be used as seats. LOL just a thought.
oh and by the way nothing against the USCG I have a huge respect for them and im currently working on my application for the USCG Academy with plans of becoming a USCG Helicopter Pilot
happen to me once in miami .. i just got a warning. they are nice people (looks serious and grumpy but are nice young guys) . They actually belong to the military for your info, so is not just a cop that is just boarding you ....
Wrong. They are under the DHS . They WERE under the Department of Commerce. Only in the event of a Presidential order ( god forbid this now) will they engage in war time actions. USCG was involved in coastal ops in The Gulf as well as Vietnam. LE's are still LE's. NOT to be trusted under any circumstance
if i were ever boarded by the coast guard, or the fish and game protectors, i would absolutely want it to be carried out by people who behave like them.
HP pulls you over to get your money, uscg pulls you over just about 99% of the time to make sure you and your vessel are safe, if you end up having a bad day...no pc needed based on 14uscg89a federal law....
They are a military Core and they do this stuff like that because many people bring beer, drugs, and other illegal things out while on their boats witch can be a real saftey hazard witch is why they do this. They also try to make sure your not catching endagerded species of marine life.
I would rather it be the USCG they are at least friendly and less likely to harass me and look for a reason to smack me with a fine. Reason being even if they do fine you the money won't go to the coast guard.
They don't search off the bat, they initially ask about weapons on board because they're assessing the situation they're entering into. All boats are different and the boarding officer will ask that the firearm owner simply stow the weapon (if not done so already) or work on a solution that works for everyone.
The idea about the weapons check, is that they don't know you, and they do not know your thoughts towards government officials. So while they are looking at your safety equipment, designed to save your life, they don't need to be getting shot at.
@@paulh.7833 And if I refuse to answer of the rationale that a legally possessed and concealed carry weapon is no business of federal law enforcement whatsoever?
The USCG has enough problems without boaters trying to persuade them otherwise, I actually am always thrilled to have them on board, OK so it bothers the people on the boat for 15 mins guess what who cares, their doing their jobs to help us safe, just sit back, thank them for their service and all they do and then go about your day, simple and easy!
Reel Hazardous - You did everything right. Good job. The disrespectful morons posting here will depend on the Coast Guard to save them when they get into trouble. It is at that time that they will learn to have a lot of respect.
Simple safety boarding. The only minor one they saw was the life saving device and they just told him to take it out. Nothing to violate the boater about.
Thanks for all the comments but just a reminder please do no use bad language and be respectful of each other. Comments with bad language will be removed.
Reel Hazardous We used to keep our boat at a marina near a phosphorus plant, and we were leaving one day, and an ammonia ship was coming in - we were boarded by the USCG fully loaded with M16 Carbine Rifles
I seem end up watching a lot of sovereign citizen videos just the presence of the Coasties would have set them off! Do what you are asked, politely, and get it done... it probably took less than 20 minutes (total). You were nice they were nice, everyone was polite and fast to do as asked (they didn't even scare the fish, probably) and were gone.
I don’t like the fact that they took possession of your legally owned and carried firearm! What law gives them the right to disarm law abiding citizens. They kept their firearms and you should have been allowed to keep possession of yours! Everything else was fine and legal.
I'm happy to see Coast Guard patrolling, all the shady boaters go away and I can fish in peace. They are professionals just like any other law enforcement agency, corporate with them and their cool.
I'd like to see more Coast Guard people are alway' s blowing through the no wake zone where I keep my boat on the Anclote river in Tarpon Springs Florida .So many power boater's either don't have a clue or don't care if they damage other people's property jet sky's are like torpedoes they think rules don' t apply to them I guess .There are a lot of people that kayak , sports teams row , small dinghy's about and people actually blow it up around the spoil key's blind to what is on the other side . And the very worst of it is the manatees don't move to very fast .
Write their registration number down and better yet take a photo file a damage claim local law or USCG and watch how fast it takes. A lot of beginners and weekend boaters don't realize they are responsible for the damge their boat and boat wak cause.
Write down the CG boat #, the date and the time it happened... then call the station and ask for the C.O. or Officer in Charge... they have to have a sortie # for each time the boat leaves the dock and there list who is the boat coxswain driving it... if the C.O. doesn't stop the problem call the Group Office and the Group Commander will make sure it no longer happens... signed A Former Coastie
Jetski operators are supposed to abide by the same "rules of the road" as boaters do, and supposed to have a boating safety course before they hit the water
It happened to me ... It bothers me that they bitched about expired flares in my can of current flares. I passed, all the time my fishing buddy had a bag of doobage in his shirt pocket. This was about 5:00 AM, before sunup, as we were heading out to our fishing spot in lake Michigan.
Too many folks would buy a $4 rowboat and take it out to the ocean with expired safety equipment only to find themselves in a whole heap of trouble later on. The CG would then have to go save them, putting their lives at risk when a simple safety inspection or common sense could have prevented it.
You gotta think though, its a whole lot more money, time, and hassle involved if they gotta haul your boat and corpses out of the water instead of just a couple minute check to make sure you got the stuff to prevent anything from happening.
WHEN DID THEY GO TO THE HAN SOLO HOLSTERS?!!! Our ops teams didn't even use those. Looks so vulnerable. Easily accessible, not only for the officer but for bad guys.
A cop is a cop no matter how he is dressed. I had a friend who check out his boat all over. But he forgot his flares. They caught him with one out of date and he got ticket. The only reason they will come after you if you get in trouble is. IT'S THE LAW!
Lonnie read the 4th amendment, as a natural born American citizen, we have the right be be secure in our persons, and private property. Any obstruction, or violation of such rights is unconstitutional.
Dude you sound like one of those people who claim they are roaming the land under the Articles of Confederation. Not everything is cut and dry, there are exceptions to everything. You need to read up on Constitutional law. Just because the second amendment says we have the right to bear arms, it does not mean we aren't subject to regulations.
Reece Mechanical no. Vessel inspections are not considered searches since LEOs are asking to see the equipment. Not searching for it. The boater said his equipment was in the compartment under the coasties foot. So its more like a building inspection. No secrets of the coasties develops probable cause that a violation of law has occurred all the amendments apply.
If you really want to know what a boarding is like, bring your vessel on the St. Clair river between Lake St.Clair and Lake Huron. Within 15 miles you can get boarded by the city police of Marine City, Marysville, and Port Huron, the U.S. Border Patrol and the St.Clair County Sheriff Marine division....Oh! I can't forget to mention the DNR stopping to inspect you in their "gun boat" too. However if you want to try and enjoy your day on the water, just travel on the Canadian side of the river. They just occasionally have the OPP patrolling the water. Nothing is more fun than taking guests out to a restaurant on the water where you have reservations just to be stopped and inspected for 45 minutes to an hour (and miss your reservation) and then be stopped again after you leave the restaurant and spend another hour having another inspection. If you are on a Power Watercraft you can definitely expect to be stopped as those poor souls seem to be a magnet for the authorities. It is out of hand.

@@CuriosityPlease-vz1gk Remember that when your boat is taking on water....
Thanks for the tip!
Charlie Spence ‘water enforcement’? Lol. You mean the cOAstGUArd?
Logan B ...we have Coast Guard, Sheriff, and Game Warden all on the water and all can perform vessel inspections. So water enforcement kinda sums them all up.
Alcoholic beverages are ILLEGAL aboard boats
It is not illegal to drink or possess alcohol on a boat
@@mikecarew8329 you have to show paperwork on the gun when the coast guard asks about it.
Good video. In the times that the USCC has boarded my boats they've always been very courteous and friendly.
My family was boarded at 1 am on July 5th a few years ago by cg from Gloucester ma. We had a couple fourth of July drinks earlier. We had all the equipment and it went just as smooth as this video but it was the middle of the night
So they were just checking flares, fire extinguisher, life vests, registration, horn, weapons ect..

It is also unsafe to transport firewood because parasites in the wood can spread. That's why it's against the law to do so.
It's not a search, if anything is found it's a plane view discovery
No, the coast guard isn't searching for drugs, they are making sure your boat is compliant with all maritime laws/rules/regulations
If they were searching for drugs there would have been more than 2 of them boarding and the boat wouldn't have just dropped them off. Not to mention their demeanor would have been remarkably different. The CG doesn't just search for drugs unless they have suspicion. This was simply a safety check to ensure the captain and his vessel were complying with boater's regulations.
what is a mini-season? what are the rules for firearms? is it by the state laws? what are the rules for firearms on the water ways?

But jurors on April 6 only found Szabo guilty of failing to stop his vessel when ordered to do so by the Coast Guard."
“When a person, being without fault, is in a place where he has a right to be, is violently assaulted, he may, without retreating, repel by force, and if, in the reasonable exercise of his right of self defense, his assailant is killed, he is justified.” Runyan v.

The slow march towards police state continues. Just a little bit at a time and before you know it the pot is boiling and we're all cooked.

MADD & dwi's also has changed greatly.
More boats on the water and a tighter CG budget has lead to this (on their side at least). More resources in the area also means if your day goes south they can get to you quicker. Plus if you've been boarded within a year's time then show them the copy of your inspection report. If no major discrepancies still exist then they'll be on their way.

A ‘Safety Check’ should be limited to checking mandated safety equipment, what part of that allows them to search a legally owned firearm?
They don't search off the bat, they initially ask about weapons on board because they're assessing the situation they're entering into.
All boats are different and the boarding officer will ask that the firearm owner simply stow the weapon (if not done so already) or work on a solution that works for everyone.

@@robertking3264 He was saying he wants to see more CG patrols due to people blowing through no wake zones. His punctuation was off.
It happened to me ... It bothers me that they bitched about expired flares in my can of current flares. I passed, all the time my fishing buddy had a bag of doobage in his shirt pocket. This was about 5:00 AM, before sunup, as we were heading out to our fishing spot in lake Michigan.
Yeah, personally I believe it's good to have current flares but also to keep expired ones
What happened to the good ol days where ya just FISH
Too many folks would buy a $4 rowboat and take it out to the ocean with expired safety equipment only to find themselves in a whole heap of trouble later on. The CG would then have to go save them, putting their lives at risk when a simple safety inspection or common sense could have prevented it.
The good old days are long gone
You gotta think though, its a whole lot more money, time, and hassle involved if they gotta haul your boat and corpses out of the water instead of just a couple minute check to make sure you got the stuff to prevent anything from happening.
this dudes ego tho
Let the skinny man have his day lol
That's typical of a 2nd class.
Muh' firearms
It shouldn't have any ego on account of his haircut.
think he was talking about the uploader no? Princess lol
the coast gaurd is lit
What happened to your knee ?
It got cut on the prop. I'll have a video showing what happened soon!
Why did you let them take control of your firearm?
it would be like been boarded by Pirates.
SR71ABCD - BETA TYSON wait till you need them and say that again
They are the reason US water's do NOT have pirates. You want to know what pirates are like go check out Somalia.
Like being boarded by pirates, except that they don’t steal anything and you don’t get your head cut off.
@dnh300 | He just did. Didn't you see the video?
WHEN DID THEY GO TO THE HAN SOLO HOLSTERS?!!! Our ops teams didn't even use those. Looks so vulnerable. Easily accessible, not only for the officer but for bad guys.
"Go away, baitin' "
A cop is a cop no matter how he is dressed. I had a friend who check out his boat all over. But he forgot his flares. They caught him with one out of date and he got ticket. The only reason they will come after you if you get in trouble is. IT'S THE LAW!
Are they feeding the coast guards? They're looking a little skinny 😅
Well they swim a lot... and if you look at how swimmers are built.... ...... ....
kyle warmerdam : salt water and kale.
hey man not all the cooks in the CG are good lmao
You're used to seeing and hanging out with fatasses. This is what healthy fit people look like.
Where were they for the S.S Minow?
"We just do routine 4th amendment infringement exercises."
Lonnie Unconstitutional
Lonnie read the 4th amendment, as a natural born American citizen, we have the right be be secure in our persons, and private property. Any obstruction, or violation of such rights is unconstitutional.
Lonnie I read my constitution every day, it is with me 24/7.
Lonnie read the 4th amendment.
Just a routine safety boarding if they suspected more would of had more personal and more weapons.
*would have
What in neck is mini season????
It's a short 2 day lobster season about a week before the regular season.
This is fine and all but does this fall under the 4th amendment?
Reece Mechanical no. Vessel inspections are not considered searches since LEOs are asking to see the equipment. Not searching for it. The boater said his equipment was in the compartment under the coasties foot. So its more like a building inspection.
No secrets of the coasties develops probable cause that a violation of law has occurred all the amendments apply.
Reece Mechanical that's a negative friendo
Nope. Maritime law.
