  • Using My Micro Mark Mini-Lathe to ROUGH grind slot car tires. I'm using a Dremel Flex Shaft and drum sander mounted in a quick change tool holder. The orange object in the background is an attachment for my shop vacuum. I'll use these rough ground tires to calibrate the 'Knob Job' precision adjustment systems that I install on Hudy Tire Truers.

It’s just for rough grinding. After that I’ll use my Hudy Tire Truer to finish grind them to size.

@@triggerman_designs5277 but why can’t you just use the lathe to finish de job?

@@jvtrevisanthe lathe is used to rough grind the tires after mounting fresh rubber on the rims. These tires are then stored in a freezer until needed, usually at the track. The Hudy truer is much more portable and accurate.

It’s done with a Dremel Tool flex shaft mounted 250-102 quick change tool holder. I use a 40 grit sanding drum.
