I have Basic Black, I like Japanese pattern books. You are right about the sizing, Japanese ladies have a slight figure ( mostly) and a short upper torso and longer lower body. All you need to do is run a tape measure over the pattern and make adjustments. Another thing to rember, no Sean allowance so add one when cutting!
Good to see you back, Diane. I enjoyed this video. You talk a lot of sense! Patterns and fabric are so expensive so it's refreshing to see how easy it is to save money. 😊
I enjoyed this review. I have the Basic Black book but have not yet made anything from it so I was glad that you spoke about the fit. Now I'll be making a toile in horticultural fleece of that shirt before cutting it out in fabric. I thought it might fit without having to do a trial because I had made a garment from a pattern from another japanese book that I borrowed from the library. That was a perfect fit so I thought the patterns in this book would be the same though it was by a different author- a very silly assumption, I know, Thanks for the warning.
Hi Bea, thank you for watching. If I can get my hands on it for a good price I will. I have just put in a request at my local library that they buy it, I have had good success with that before. Have a lovely week.

Love the pattern envelopes you’ve made, great way to store the pattern with the visual image as well
Hi, I find it useful for me otherwise I just end up with cut patterns and I can't remember what they are. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Love your channel, I bought myself a sewing machine now I need the courage to take it out of the box.
Hi Irma thank you so much. I hope you enjoy using it, happy sewing.
Great video. Thank you😊
You’re welcome 😊

Hi Barbara, I went right ahead with mine as I am impatient like that! I hope it turns out well.
Can you please show us how to make the garments of the latest book from Tilly and the Buttons. ❤️ from Antwerp.

Spelled your name wrongly. Sorry Dianne!
Not to worry.
