Omfg!!! I have got the exact same type of windows and I've been trying to clean the bloody things from the inside....unsuccessfully! Thank you so much for tip about the little clip thingy, now I can clean these bastards without falling out of the sodding window. Cheers 🙂💛
After two minutes I learnt something useful
I am so glad to have found this site and I have the exact windows, but really struggling to get the clip open on the top, any suggestions greatly appreciated....
I have learnt something very usefull😮 and now iam cleaning my wondows. Thank you❤😊
You don't need to press the clip... once the window is opened to 90°the clip will disengage automatically then you slide it across with them nico hinges
Thank you. This is so helpful!
Great video Kip 😎
Great video. Would you show us how you actually clean the windows in the next video please👍.
Sorry.. just noticed you fast forwarded that part... Wonder how long it takes for you to get fed up cleaning them that way🤣
My windows don't have that clip, but I can see the runners and I'm pondering as to how to release mine from it's present position....
Mine are the same. Identical window but no clip. It's quite frustrating haha.
Cheers for this
Top tip.
100% Thank You :)
After having lived in Germany, I find the British windows very badly designed. Opening outwards can catch the wind/rain etc.
Most German houses have windows that open inwards [tilt inwards with the top open a few inches- for ventilation, or open completely on one side so you can clean them].
My second floor windows have them here in England, why they didn't do it to the rest is beyond me [@previous owner].
They are due for a change so will incorporate the German way then.
pros and cons to both ways. e.g. opening inwards reduces the amount of usable space inside
@@BooyahBren But opening outwards = you can't clean them [depending on how they are set up] unless you hire someone [1st/2nd floor (rest of the world as America says the ground floor = 1st, so 2nd/3rd floor in AMerica] or get a ladder and then possibly injure yourself. Opening inwards [unless you are in a very very small room] takes up minimal space as you would not have furniture blocking the window. So a very lame statement.
Terrible system, you feel like the windows is broken. I have a silly system with this on once side and the other automatically creates that spaces for cleaning when open. So stupid.
Im stuck outisde of my house this is broken ive been outside for the last u hours
🎉🎉
Thanks for this fantastic and informative video. I used this trick recently to slide the window across to replace the old rubber seal on the upstairs windows. Made it a breeze 🫡
@Kip Hakes It really did. I'm grateful. Keep up the good work with your content 😇
Your windows open to the outside?
@@kiphakes I'm from germany, maybe my question was not clear enough. But i have never seen windows, where the glas is swinging to the outside. Here all windows open into the room. And i never thought, that could be different anywhere on the world.
@@thorz7304 That's interesting, I'm equally surprised to hear that windows open inside in other countries, thanks for the info! :)
@@kiphakes European windows turn and tilt, I saw it somewhere . Thank you for this video. I dread cleaning windows
@@thorz7304 I've seen a video with the windows that open inside. Soooo cool. I need to move to Europe
Embarrassing compared to the rest of Europe. Switzerland and Germany for example, the primary window swings inwards, and when that's open, on the inside of the frame of the second side, there's a lever which releases that window allowing it to also swing inwards.
No needing to reach outside and risk throwing yourself head first through a big hole of doom.
@@kiphakes right out the window, yeah 🙃🤭 I’m also from England by the way ✌🏻
I've finally mastered how to open the top window clip, as no amount of pressing was working, just broken finger nails. Once window is open 90° you lift up the window slightly & the clip opens up, no problem, to slide the window.
