Her story is typical of a lot of single mothers. They know what type of dudes they sleep with and they know exactly what they are doing. We all have seen and heard this scenario many times over.
The black family has been over determined by the dominant society. Our families have always been in crisis. BGS has said many times this is black life and black family. You can blame it on the women. That’s a real surface level evaluation. Deeper it goes right back to slavery and Jim Crow !
The chick on the right is probably the type of chick, who would catch a federal case for getting into a fight with the flight attendant on Spirit Airlines, because the airline does not serve crab legs during the flight..😂 That women is 85 AF..
He didn’t see his son after 3 times… SO! 🤷🏾♂️ Her son is in his twenties by the time he saw his father and she basically robbed a man of the chance of a family. They don’t know each other and he’s not a little boy anymore. They can both decide on how that relationship dynamic works now.
I can’t necessarily with that. Based on the first meeting, he was interested in a relationship with his son. He was a Pookie and she was a Keisha, when they had him. She searched for him, so how did she deny him? Dude was in prison and she didn’t know where he was, since he got booted out the group home. But trying to give him a guilt trip was some BS, when she did finally find him. He allowed his hating azz wife to keep him from his son. I assume if he didn’t have kids, is because she’s was infertile and that’s why she was so salty. My mother’s father allowed his wife who couldn’t have kids, due the same thing and he allowed it. This was back in the day day, but he found out when my mom was 10. His wife then encouraged him to reach out, when she was told she was die in the next 1-2 yrs and she wanted him to have someone. At this stage my mom was damn near 40. But they got together and had a good relationship until he did in his late 70s. She took care of all his affairs, as his real family weren’t on shyt and just wanted to take shyt like vultures.
Just trying to keep up with story so Grandma was 71, mom was 54, she was 36 and her son was 20.. yea the cycle continues and it all sounds about right..
My mom had a similar situation. My grandma refuses to tell my mom anything true about my biological grandfather. Her entire life we found him around 2020 and the resemblance was crazy also found out my mom has a sister. But by now it's kinda too late to really build a connection their. It's really disappointing because I'm sure that side of my family is why I think the way that I do and I know nothing about em.
Her story is not the ideal family blacks, or any other racial group, should strive for. If black people want to know what a real family should look like, go watch videos of "The Wantons". If we had communities full of households like them we would be making great strides academically, financially, and politically.
Listening to these ladies reminded why I am happily unmarried and childless. I do not miss the headaches and the heartaches.
