The way she spoke out the first words sounded so hurt as she's about to break down in tears any moment
She talks about the meaning of those lines in an interview. She had fibroid tumors and the lines refer to the pain she suffered from them, it's rough stuff - my partner went through it as well. Doctors don't take women's pain seriously at all, especially if you're BIPOC. "No, no novicaine". Seeing the pain my partner was in, how many doctors ignored her, and then hearing how bad twigs were....I can only imagine it's hard to think about let alone sing about.
@@jooname She did have fibroid tumors, but the line, "No, no Novocaine" is about how she didn't want to be on all of the medications and painkillers she was prescribed. What you're saying is absolutely true, but Twigs wrote that line thinking of how she didn't want to be on those medications, and not about how women's pain is dismissed and ignored by doctors. I initially thought the line also meant the same thing!

Is the beginning "Thousand Eyes"? Because the album version of "Home With You" is only 3:44 min
chris khan no she did 1000 eyes but at the beginning of Mary Magdalene, it was only a short dance intro and the album vers is much longer - 5 min
