I'm so sick of videos where the talking is super soft and you have to turn up the volume to hear anything and then BOOM the guitars are loud as hell. For fuck's sake people, balance your audio.
I don't think the talking was super soft, the music was for sure louder but I could still hear them distinctively without the need of blasting my volume. What monitors or headphones are you using?
Lol. It's so upsetting to watching a free video by someone else who did all the work to create it and not have exactly the way you want it. You poor little pussy..
Believe me, the Eclipse is something else than an LTD. For me, totally worth the extra money. But be smart, get a used Eclipse for the same price as a new LTD.
Curtis Wood I have 3 ESP Eclipses and 1 LTD Viper 1000. The Viper is awesome and have great quality but I would rather get an ESP every time over an LTD. But if you don't want to put the money you can get an LTD and never be sorry. But I recommend the 1000, never less.
some people just don't have the cash for an ESP, it's hard to beat the 400 and 1000 series for the price they're going for on the used market. I'm seeing 400s as low as 350$ and some 1000s even listing under 500$.
I owned two of the CTM's, a black and a white and regret selling them. And here also, I found the CTM sounded better... only because if "FELT" heavier/thicker tone wise. I regret missing out on a ltd 4 knob E-II that I spotted a few weeks ago. Great vid guys!
man thanks for this video was planning to buy a e ii but then figured maybe it's really not a standard because of their branding but this video proved it once again thank you man been looking for this info for a long time
I have the EC1000 see through black cherry on order and getting more excited daily for it to arrive. I have the LTD KH602 (Kirk Hammet) and love it. You cannot beat the LTD $1000 price point. Keep rockin fellas. Both sound great.
I've got the same EC1000T and mine was also a b-stock. Bought it from a highly rated U.S based retailer on ebay after seeing dozens of pictures and conversing back and forth with the store, I couldn't find a thing wrong with it to where ESP/LTD would denote it as a factory 2nd. There's one tiny tooling mark on the fretboard binding up near the nut, but that's it...and I've seen new guitars not listed as 2nds with more obvious blemishes than that. It's been in the hands of two different techs and neither of them could figure out why ESP/LTD would denote it as a factory 2nd. Probably one of the best steals I've gotten on a piece of gear. Paid less than $550 for it shipped to my door and it's been one of my main 6 strings since then. Swapped the EMGs and electronics out for gold covered Duncans(Custom/Jazz), and replaced the stock nut for a graphtech, but that's all that's been done to it. Fantastic guitar and since I've owned it, all the gas I had for owning a Japanese ESP eclipse has vanished. The only other thing I may do in the future is swap out the ESP branded locking tuners for legit gotohs or possibly hipshot open gear tuners but the ESP branded ones have been perfectly adequate and work as they should.
I've got a 2010 ESP eclipse, and the new CTM with the gold satin finish. To me, the satin finish on top of the type of cut on the higher end of the fret board makes the CTM play smoother, but the ESP build quality is slightly better. Mainly referring to hardware. Can't really gripe though, I live them both.
I own 2 custom shop les Paul's and a 2002 LP STANDARD that I love ,,,but I pulled the trigger on a ESP USA ECLIPSE ,and I am now a ESP JUNKY,,,So now I have 2 USA eclipses and the EII horizon .
I own an LTD EC 2015 40th anniversary with the same pickups and the guy i bought it from also had the blue E-2. i didn't get the play that one much but just by picking it up i can tell it was built with more care as you said. i didn't have the funds to get that one off of his hands but i really wanted to lol. although i love my LTD it is just waaayyyy heavier than the E2 and idk if that's a good thing or bad thing. I'm assuming because the 40th anniversary was built with a maple neck instead of a Mahoghany like the E2. but 9.4lbs gets a little heavy sometimes lol. still planning on one day getting an E2. awesome video guys!
Sweet riffage! Having previously owned an LTD e c 1000 and currently owning an ESP eclipse I agree 100 %. Build quality being the most glaring. Sub $1000 you really can't go wrong with the ltd ctm t 1000! Great demo!
I have an '05 LTD EC 1000 with amber sunburst finish. I love it. It came from factory with SD JB/59 combo. I switched them up for some Dimarzio D-Activators and then I finally threw the SD Custom/Jazz combo and I couldn't be happier with it. Sounds mean af! I use it in Drop B/Standard Db. I would love to try some of the newer Eclipses with that new neck joint that has better access to the upper frets though.
Rich Auclair I bet it does sound heavy. Haha! LTD is gold when it comes to what you get for the price. I bought mine used when I was in the US and paid half the price. Great deal.
Can't understand why always ESP Eclipse sounds so clearly more brighter, wide open, sharper and tighter compared to LTD EC1000? They have everything the same, emg 81, full mahogany, ebony fretboard, same hardware/electronics, so what's the factor remains responsible for that difference?
I had an EC1000 Deluxe that was exceptional for the price. ESP is maybe 20% better but cost almost twice as much. Is it worth it? Depends on your budget.
Okay Arnold, please tell me what kind of trickery you and Will are trying to pull here! By trickery I mean how the hell are you two playing guitar and getting a sound when one cable is connecting 2 guitars together? What sorcery is this?
So you have a USD 900 difference but if you get the LTD you still need to get the pick ups which are about 180 plus a case which is another 200 if you want an ESP model, besides what the other guy spent on making other mods. So the difference goes down to 520 or less for a custom single cut guitar instead of Indonesian 3-piece?
the Traditional sounded thick maybe because is it thick and chambered while E-II sounded tight. it will be more interesting if the have the Full Thickness and the FR too.
hey man what are those volume knobs on the ltd that he swapped over the golden ones..im searching for the golden ltd volume knobs...and what locking tuners does ltd ec fit the best??? and can u send me the links..it would be a great help bro...thanks in advance..great video btw
Cool video guys!I´ve tested myself both these guitars also and i must agree that the e2 has much more clarity and crisp to it ...for this reason i`ve sold my ltd 1000 already...build quality and tone are just simply things you can´t compare between these two guitars.Good luck and rock on!!!
I have the ESP LTD EC1000T-CTM, my luthier Leveled and crowned the frets with the setup and I bet it plays just as good if not better than that over priced E-II Eclipse FM...
+weiner dog going to give that some serious thought. I used to have one and I miss it, and I agree it fucking kills! But, that at the least would require a sizable amount of cash in addition to that amp. Upgrades or no, those go for between 300/450 all day on eBay and in used gear shops.
Hi my friend, I have a doubt, which is the difference between ESP ECLIPSE II STANDARD SERIES and E II ECLIPSE II DESIGNED BY ESP? The quality is the same?
E II Is the same as the esp standard series they changed the esp logo to e II around 2014 if im correct I think they just should have let the logo be esp
Revisiting the video that originally brought me to your channel a year or so ago. I like that Ltd more than mine, mines an older one with a rosewood and was stock with Duncan JB/'59.
Ebony fingerboard and the amount of wood in the body of the 1000 will never go away, it will always sound meaner. I have a T as well and it's like packing a log around.
Amazing video and song. I loved the fact you played together and then split it up! I liked the sound of the LTD more, but I can guarantee I wouldn't be as keen playing it. Not a fan of the bigger body/neck.
You said they had the same pickups, when he said he replaced his with the 57/66 combo. E-II's come stock with 81/85's I think, or did you switch yours out too? The LTD sounded a lot better imo. Less "sterile", more dynamic, just a better tone (probably due to full thickness body and the 57/66). I was able to "a/b" these guitars at two different music stores (3 LTD's, 1 E-II, and one older ESP standard) , and one of the LTD's was my favorite (bk-600, 12" radius like the ESP, Full Thickness body, Lace Sensor Passive Pups). so, I dunno. I think the LTD can be just as good, but you have to find a good one. There is a variation from Korea while the MIJ guitars are very very consistent. Just my experience with these. But I've liked every instrument I've played from ESP or High end LTD.
i want to black out my ltd ec1000t as well, and would like to know what bridge you went with and what size/brand. i would hate to buy the wrong one and not fit the guitar. also you guys did a bad ass job!
It's the standard Tonepros locking bridge. The larger posts fit 95% of import guitars like this one. Pulling the gold posts was kind of a pain in the dick, but there's lots of great instruction is you look for it. Happy modding!
I had a E-II, it sounds amazing. Before buying it, I read lots of reviews. One comment that kept coming over and over was "not for shredders". I can't tell if it was the paint on the neck or what but it was clearly not fast enough when doing rapid scaling runs along the neck. I resold mine to someone who liked it. But I did came to the same conclusion as the peoples in those posts. Cheers, Just sharing personal test results. I even saw a guy that sanded the back of its E-II neck!
+mjillson85 I use a Kemper because of the versatility and the ease for reamping purposes. As for pedals, I don't typically use them. I have an Airis Savage Drive, a Morley Dragon 2 wah, an ISP Decimator, and that's really it.
So to make them even the ltd needs around 600$ of work on it...the esp tighter sound could be due to the thinner body. Great guitars btw :D Need to save a bit of money, love the esp.
What's up with the socks? Haha! Thanks for the great vid. I just bought the 2016 E-II Eclipse in lemon burst with 66/57 EMGs. I had to think long and hard about it because I don't play modern metal, and the pickups were EMGs... This set is pretty good for hard rock though, and I don't think the 57/66's are a bad fit for Led Zeppelin or early Rush. These are my first active pickups and I was worried about that. I spent a lot of time A/B-ing between the E-II and an LTD with passive Seymour Duncan's in the guitar store. The passive pickups do sound sweeter and more musical than the EMG's clean.
So does only the Ltd line offer the "traditional" style? I have an older Ltd EC-1000 in Tobacco Sunburst but want to get another Eclipse as my '88 Orville by Gibson Les Paul is a studio whore these days.
yeah...i see these at about 900 usa dollars new (ESP LTD EC-1000). Black. THey seem a very solid guitar. However as we know.......... there is the PRS S2 right up there.......right
I'm so sick of videos where the talking is super soft and you have to turn up the volume to hear anything and then BOOM the guitars are loud as hell.
For fuck's sake people, balance your audio.
Make your own videos. Be the solution.
needleinkandpepper if it's too loud, you're too old! 😉
Hahahahaha
Believe me, the Eclipse is something else than an LTD. For me, totally worth the extra money. But be smart, get a used Eclipse for the same price as a new LTD.
There's no $900 difference in sound.
Quality and feel is different. Get a used Eclipse for the same price as a new LTD if you're smart. :)
or a used LTD for like 5 hundy, the used market is flooded with 1000 and 400 series ec's, great deals all over.

Curtis Wood that's true!
I got my Viper 1000 for $400 and it's almost like new.
I owned two of the CTM's, a black and a white and regret selling them. And here also, I found the CTM sounded better... only because if "FELT" heavier/thicker tone wise. I regret missing out on a ltd 4 knob E-II that I spotted a few weeks ago. Great vid guys!

the EII replaces the standard, now only the custom shops get the ESP logo on the head
I have the EC1000 see through black cherry on order and getting more excited daily for it to arrive. I have the LTD KH602 (Kirk Hammet) and love it. You cannot beat the LTD $1000 price point. Keep rockin fellas. Both sound great.
Anyone else they plugged the guitars into eachother during the play through
+Cavin Dobson finally someone caught that. Us trying to be funny.
+ArnoldPlaysGuitar haha, gave me a laugh :)
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing.
I'm ordering a EC1000T very soon. Will get a pleck job done for sure.
You are both killing it in the sock game!
Years later but still a really good comparison of the difference from ltd up to e2.
I've got the same EC1000T and mine was also a b-stock. Loving the In Flames vibe

Dual pick slides. Instant hard on. Metal as fuck. \m/
Not sure about the guitars but socks are hilarious (LOL)
... on a more serious note, this was a great demo. Thanks for putting this together!
in my ear - ESP is more "in your face sounding" LTD is "middy" type sounding :) i love both :)
Sweet riffage! Having previously owned an LTD e c 1000 and currently owning an ESP eclipse I agree 100 %. Build quality being the most glaring. Sub $1000 you really can't go wrong with the ltd ctm t 1000! Great demo!

Pedro Iago I have the 2005 EC-400AT goldtop and love it. SD 59 and SD JB. Sounds heavy as hell
Rich Auclair I bet it does sound heavy. Haha! LTD is gold when it comes to what you get for the price. I bought mine used when I was in the US and paid half the price. Great deal.
I got mine for $300 used. Also have a EC-400VF with same setup. Love tyem both. Prefer ESP/LTD over Gibson any day
Rich Auclair a n y d a y .
EC1000T-CTM is chambered body ,the reason it sounds more bassy and less tight
Can't understand why always ESP Eclipse sounds so clearly more brighter, wide open, sharper and tighter compared to LTD EC1000? They have everything the same, emg 81, full mahogany, ebony fretboard, same hardware/electronics, so what's the factor remains responsible for that difference?
Why would you go for rosewood over ebony on the ESP?
spydermunkie Tone and feel. Some prefer the feel and darker tone of Rosewood, while Ebony has a brighter tone and typically smoother feel.
I had an EC1000 Deluxe that was exceptional for the price. ESP is maybe 20% better but cost almost twice as much. Is it worth it? Depends on your budget.
Agree
Okay Arnold, please tell me what kind of trickery you and Will are trying to pull here! By trickery I mean how the hell are you two playing guitar and getting a sound when one cable is connecting 2 guitars together? What sorcery is this?
And also what pickup height i have this guitar and pickups seems a lil boomy
I agree with your analysis and opinions on these 2 guitars. Bit if the ec 1000 had the 24 fret slim neck it is fast and comfortable as the e2
I like the sound of the LTD
The e-2 had which pick ups , and was it weight relief? Not mentioned in vid
The fretboard size is smaller in ESP than the LTD ?
How about sharing that kemper tone even if it is not for free? :D That sounds awesome!
Nice video. I never really realized how different models of the same guitar could change tone so much.
Awesome song. Has a similar vibe to Embody the Invisible by In Flames.
+maccatheguitarist We are both huge fans of In Flames so we will for sure take this as a massive compliment! Thank you!
Yeah, that's pretty much my favorite song ever. Ever-ever.
Thanks dude!
the Traditional sounded thick maybe because is it thick and chambered while E-II sounded tight. it will be more interesting if the have the Full Thickness and the FR too.
Am I wrong or the guitars are plugged one to the other? 😂
hey man what are those volume knobs on the ltd that he swapped over the golden ones..im searching for the golden ltd volume knobs...and what locking tuners does ltd ec fit the best??? and can u send me the links..it would be a great help bro...thanks in advance..great video btw
If i put in slash seymour duncans into the ec 1000 will it sound like a les paul?? I really hate the cream binding of the les pauls lmao
LTD is way darker and better DAMN!
Yes, but ESP has more spectrum.
Eren Çelikkanat no it’s not, once you play the two of them you’ll never pick up the Ltd again.
Full thickness model, you can buy that from ESP too
Eren Çelikkanat no
The build quality may be better but the thicker guitar definitely sounds better
the esp got so much girth and growl with clear low end, its fn beautiful!
Great review, keep them coming. I like seeing these where I do not have access to a music shop unless I travel.
Awesome love going on there!Great to witness on UA-cam
Cool video guys!I´ve tested myself both these guitars also and i must agree that the e2 has much more clarity and crisp to it ...for this reason i`ve sold my ltd 1000 already...build quality and tone are just simply things you can´t compare between these two guitars.Good luck and rock on!!!
I have the ESP LTD EC1000T-CTM, my luthier Leveled and crowned the frets with the setup and I bet it plays just as good if not better than that over priced E-II Eclipse FM...
By the way...this guitar is currently for sale. Message me.
+weiner dog going to give that some serious thought. I used to have one and I miss it, and I agree it fucking kills! But, that at the least would require a sizable amount of cash in addition to that amp. Upgrades or no, those go for between 300/450 all day on eBay and in used gear shops.
+weiner dog gotcha. If you still have it after I sell my Eclipse, I just might take you up on it.
+ArnoldPlaysGuitar do you sell esp e II?
+AlexXx7ify7 not yet sir.
Oh no. Tell me, when you`ll do this, please!
The ESP Had a tighter low end, but thats most likely due to the thinner body, great shootout dudes. loved the track
Hi my friend, I have a doubt, which is the difference between ESP ECLIPSE II STANDARD SERIES and E II ECLIPSE II DESIGNED BY ESP? The quality is the same?
they're the same thing
thank's bro :)
E II Is the same as the esp standard series they changed the esp logo to e II around 2014 if im correct
I think they just should have let the logo be esp
What were you guys using for backing tracks?
Are both of you using the same brand and gauge strings?Change the channel name to ArnoldDrinksBeer.
Revisiting the video that originally brought me to your channel a year or so ago. I like that Ltd more than mine, mines an older one with a rosewood and was stock with Duncan JB/'59.

I liked the sound of the LTD more, but I can guarantee I wouldn't be as keen playing it. Not a fan of the bigger body/neck.
aw you've got daddy ear and baby ear - super cute!
EC1000T sounds much better, clearer and not so fuzzy.
I thought the LTD sounded better.
Took me a while to find that ESP E-II Eclipse FM STBLK with 24 frets & EMG's. Looks like they only make 22 frets anymore since 2016??
The burp at 2:53 and the other guy trying not to laugh was great.
Adam Harmon mine came stock with the 57/66, hiscame stock with the 85/81 and he threw in the 57/66.
Man that is so badass man
Where did you get the black hardware for the LTD? Looks realll good
Oh yeah quiet talking and then surprise deafening guitar. I love it.
What tuning ?!
does this song have lyrics?
Yes, "BURP!!!" 😂😂😂😂😃
i want to black out my ltd ec1000t as well, and would like to know what bridge you went with and what size/brand. i would hate to buy the wrong one and not fit the guitar. also you guys did a bad ass job!
It's the standard Tonepros locking bridge. The larger posts fit 95% of import guitars like this one. Pulling the gold posts was kind of a pain in the dick, but there's lots of great instruction is you look for it. Happy modding!
Did you guys ever get that Plek done? If so, how did it play after?
the Ec 1000 amber sunburst model with Duncans are the best Ec 1000 ever made
I had a E-II, it sounds amazing.
Do you guys prefer the feel of the thicker traditional body, or the thinner shape of the ESP's body?
I prefer the thicker body myself. Always dug heavier instruments.
I like the LTD better. I like the look and it's a little hotter in my opinion guitars sound great though
The E-II sounds quite noticeably better to me. $900 better? Dunno, but better.
Even with headphones on i.dont find any great difference in sound to justify the price difference ... id love either plank lol
Honestly the LTD sounds slightly better. More well rounded tone. And they have the same pickups so it must be due to the thicker body.
What color is the e-II, see through Black?
EC1000T blackened looks epic. Where did u get black volume knobs from ?
Local music shop had them. I THINK they were just Allparts brand knobs if I remember correctly.
Man, you guys are so good. I just put an order in for an E2 Eclipse in Satin black. Can I ask why you decided to part ways with it?
Just decided if rather have something else.
You seem to have quite a few in the flock. Can I ask what amp/pedals are your goto? The tone is unreal
+mjillson85 I use a Kemper because of the versatility and the ease for reamping purposes. As for pedals, I don't typically use them. I have an Airis Savage Drive, a Morley Dragon 2 wah, an ISP Decimator, and that's really it.
E-II better, has more mids. LTD some little scooped.
Active vs passive????
Is this for the ec 1000 ctm? Is it still available? If so I'll buy it right now.
Doubtful that Dan will ever sell that.
You can have it if you kill me in a man to man gladiator battle.
Did you have to drill holes for the hipshot tuner upgrades?
Axe vs axe
what distortion pedal are you guys using
esp is much more brighter and wide open
Sounds a little like this one COB song
Sounds badass, dude! What tuning are you using for this song ??
C Standard
why you sellin the esp?
fret wire the same?
where the hell did you get a can of Surge?!
Josef Lopez www.amazon.com/SURGE-12-16-FL-Cans/dp/B00OK0I4AO
Josef Lopez if you have a five below around you can get it there
So his is chubbier and yours is thinner.
(I can't believe no one made that joke already)
Ec1000 sounds better
The passive pickups do sound sweeter and more musical than the EMG's clean.
long live ebony fretboard 🤘
Do you guys have any tabs for these riffs sick song and eclipses!!
So does only the Ltd line offer the "traditional" style? I have an older Ltd EC-1000 in Tobacco Sunburst but want to get another Eclipse as my '88 Orville by Gibson Les Paul is a studio whore these days.
My regular ltd ec1000 is pretty heavy can't imagine how much more the traditional is
Heavy as Rosie O'Donnell after her daily KFC run.
yeah...i see these at about 900 usa dollars new (ESP LTD EC-1000). Black. THey seem a very solid guitar. However as we know.......... there is the PRS S2 right up there.......right
The esp just looked like it played better haha
What does the CTM stand for?
Custom
What is Dan's UA-cam channel?
Non existent!
Dan Eaton Common Bro, get a channel, you'
re a good guitarist, I would view your vids if you had them...🎸
you guys should try the USA eclipse,,,,,SO NICE
Whatever settings you’re using in the kemper, delete them
Why??
