1. They expect you to work alot 10 hours a day for 28 days. For him he did 10-18 hours a day 2. You learn a lot. Pace is crazy fast. New material everyday don't fall behind 3. Make friends and work together in a group. Don't do piscine by yourself 4. No teachers, no classes work by yourself. You have to teach yourself 5. Lots of people fail. There is a success rate of 10-40% Only 2% passed the final project. If you fail don't worry. Keep on going
I got a notification that someone liked my comment. I did the piscine and passed and I think the success rate differs a lot based on where you do it. I put 10-12 hours of work. Definitely make friends while you are there - know the smart people and work with them. There are no teachers or classes and you teach yourself. The success rate where I did it felt like 50 - 60% but that’s only because people dropped out. If you stayed and were likeable you were selected. Most people pass the projects some groups failed because of small errors but even if you fail the project you were still accepted. Just put in the hours and you’ll be fine
Currently at my 5th day of the piscine. As someone who studied langages and Art, I can tell you it is not easy at all lol. You learn a lot in such a small amount of time, the life balance is also affected since you spend so much time at the school. I recommand doing some meal prep, try to set yourself a schedule, I like to arrive at around 11am and then spend at least 10hours there. Try to talk to people, and also let yourself be approached, no one talks about this, but being social is not easy for everyone, also personnally it requires a lot of energy to talk to new people and get used to their company, it can be intimidating for sure! But honestly, best experience ever for now, in only 5 days I've learnt so much thanks to my peers, to the Internet and MYSELF which does make you feel some pride about it. Try it and you will see if the concept 42 is for you, and if it's not, it's totally ok
I'm going to come give it a shot! I signed up for the October Piscine, so I appreciate your input. I'm not a coder traditionally, I'm a theater nerd. But coding is a very creative practice. Fingers crossed!
@@Riael the US location is not accepting any new students this year. No online piscine or program except for people who signed up pre-covid. Other locations may vary.

I would not advise you to try the piscine in Paris. In France 42 is considered to be the best school of coding and the competition to get in is crazy high. They have more than 20 campus partners in the world and the competition might be easier.
@@benjiski6 it might be true but it's one of the closest school since i live in italy, i can't afford to go in the usa or Russia. One of the others is in Amsterdam but for this year i would wait the september piscine i think. Now i'm waiting for the Paris one. It might be competitive but i want to try it
@@lostinthefaq ok ! And for your information, there are plenty of foreigners trying the piscine. Also the materials exist in french and english from what I have heard.

Do you get to live in the dorm during PISCINE?
if they have space available yes.
What visa did you apply for, considering if you would get in or not?
So I applied for a B2 visa and thats what most international people do. If you want I can make a video about it.
@@skunz2224 Hi can you please make video on visa application?
Thanx a lot
@@skunz2224I think B2 Visa just allows to stay till 6 months, usually the 42 program is about 3 years, how do you handle it?

I suggest to live nearby or ask for dorm room.
How's it going now?

is it a necessity to learn some coding before applying ?
No. But it helps. If you're dedicated enough it doesn't matter. It's closed right now though. At least the one in CA
Did you end up applying? The piscines are remote
