    The mouthed “wow” made me feel so much better. It’s so easy to go straight to “I’m a horrible parent” instead of having some grace for yourself bc being a parent can be exhausting as well as your child dancing on your absolute last nerve. Of course you love them and will never ever quit but every once in awhile they do something that makes you want to sit in the corner and bang your head against the wall. 😂❤

    Toddlers are the prime example of “the slider is low to strong emotion, not sad to happy emotion” like little man is feeling so strongly but he is able to bouncy ball between happy and sad like no-one’s business, it’s fascinating to watch.

    • @mydirtyfeet
      @mydirtyfeet Рік тому +25

    • @cairoraiser9338
      @cairoraiser9338 Рік тому +96

      @@mydirtyfeet the slider is the concept of how people believe that ‘good’ or ‘happy’ emotions are one end of a spectrum and that ‘bad’ or ‘sad’ emotions are on the other end, when in reality you can quite easily change from happy to sad in seconds, since they are both strong emotions. What Cooper seems to be doing here is exactly that, bouncing between happy and sad since they are both strong emotions, and the short attention span of a toddler makes it much easier to switch than when you get older! (The typical situation for adults is when they’re seemingly chilling, and then something small is said and it’s ‘zero to sixty’ crying “all of a sudden”)

They have 0 knowledge form birth and uo until they go to school, you're one of their only sources of knowledge. When children have tantrums, typically it's not because they are bad or wrongfully upset. It's because they don't understand their emotions or how to react with them. Really??? All I here this kid say is I want, I want. What about pleases n thank you, no manners what so ever, n you think this is sweet n cute? I have a child more disabled then cooper, n he barely speaks but when he asks for something he says please n when given something he says thank you, n when told no he doesn't crack it at me. This kid has no manners what so ever n cracks it till he gets it. How cute n sweet he's going to be when his older.

      Not all disabled children, or children in general, reach the same milestones at the same time. This is called the “learning emotional regulation” stage. Disability can affect emotional processing, too. Your comment is degrading a young child - that’s just weird. Especially coming from a parent who says they also have a disabled child.

      @@shiboom1971EXACTLY!!! She feeds in to it & he plays her like a fiddle. She treats him like a victim & HE doesn't even realize he is "different". It's like people who carry around their blind dog. You have to treat them like they are perfectly able for them to truly thrive. I have a blind Dad who is an attorney & a Deaf brother who is a MECHANIC.
