    Something about a diesel engine running really early in the morning when everyone else is sleeping and the sky is pitch dark is just comforting to me…

    I'm glad you are putting this out there as you are the first I've seen, would have loved to work with you. Now retired but you bring back the memories of job gone by.

      For a job like this labor manpower and equipment's like crane and foundation work, how much will cost the contractor exclusive materials?

      Thanks for stopping in! 🙂 Only the towers that can be reached with a crane are built like this. Some towers are built using tuggers (winches) and gin poles.

    Does the customer have a qualified person on site to inform ground crew on proper placement of straps for the pick?

    • @ToTheTopCrane
      @ToTheTopCrane  6 років тому +2

      Jeff Pratt most companies have certified riggers. In the event that they don't, all of the support personnel in our company are certified riggers/signal persons. On this particular job, the person with me happens to be a certified crane operator as well.

      Down under you are not allowed to hook up any crane with out being a qualified rigger.

      Lawn Commander it was actually a pretty stressful job. You'll probably see why in part 2.

    Looks a bit nerve wracking. I think I'd have a bigger fan because I'd be sweating bullets swinging those sections in the wind. Have you ever been in a situation that scared the shit out of you? Thanks, and thanks for the videos.

      Duncan MacKenzie, there are times that it is very stressful. Part 2 of the cell tower is one of those times. Also, yes, I have had situations that made me check my seat afterwards. Lol

    This makes me wish I could still climb. I enjoyed it the few time's I had the opportunity.

    Does the cell tower contractor do the rigging and provide all the radio communications with you?

    • @ToTheTopCrane
      @ToTheTopCrane  6 років тому +2

      Chris Rowland we have our own two way radios. On this job, we used the ones provided by the tower company. All of the tower employees on this job are certified rigger/signal persons. In the event that the contractor doesn't have a certified rigger/signal person, all of the support personnel in our company are certified riggers/signal persons.

      What scope of work does rigging imply? How long was the crane installation if the winds were acceptable? Is 15MPH winds max for safety?

    Try putting the remote to your chin, it works with car remotes.

    • @ToTheTopCrane
      @ToTheTopCrane  6 років тому

      That1ufo, I tried. Since the Gopro smart remote uses wi-fi, it didn't work. We had another tower in the vicinity and I think it was interfering with the camera and remote.

    From the camera angle it sure looked like the ground man was walking right under that first section as it was partially suspended
