    How and where do you attach the micro inverters (Enphase IQ7+ example)?

    • @TheMetalRoofingAcademy
      @TheMetalRoofingAcademy  2 роки тому +2

      When using micro inverters or optimizers with our direct attach PVKIT system, the majority of the time the units are directly bolted to the module frame under the module. Often modules have predrilled holes in the frames for this application. In the rare case this is not an option, the inverters or optimizers and be attached to their own clamp or bracket under the module.

    Great video, Thanks! How do you fit microinverters under the panel when you mount like this?

    I called our local distributer, and was told that you do not sell to home owners, only for commercial. I wanted to purchase for our cabin. Is tis true?

      I do know that some distributors business models are set up to only sell commercially, but that is not the case for most of them. You can see our full list of distributors on our How to Buy page (www.s-5.com/how-to-buy/?swcfpc=1). If you need further assistance selecting the proper distributor, please contact us at support@s-5.com

    I plan to build a carport, patio stye, with 8 ft. Corrugated Galvanized Steel 29-Gauge Roof Panel from Home Depot. The carport will accommodate 20 solar panels, each measure 39"x65" . Are your product certified and meet city building codes and comply with power company for safety? If so please give me the list of things I need to mount my 20 panels. Thanks

      We almost certainly do have certifications for your jurisdiction, but questions like this are best handled by one of our application engineers. Please reach out to us at support@s-5.com and we'll be happy to help you on a project specific basis.

      Thank you for your comment and I would like to get more info from you on what S-5! products you use and the array design. In most applications there is no need to ground each mount to the roof as the entire array will be grounded through either the rails or our PV Kits and then a single ground from the array can then be attached to the roof. Please reach out to us at support@s-5.com to provide more details if you like. Also, please see the videos from our Resource Center in the link that discuss wire management and grounding.

    What about frameless panels??? The panels are only 8 mm thick...

    • @TheMetalRoofingAcademy
      @TheMetalRoofingAcademy  2 роки тому

      Currently S-5 PVKIT attachments only accommodate framed modules between 30mm - 46mm thick. However, there are racking systems for frameless modules that can be attached to metal roofs using our clamps or brackets. We are always developing and coming out with new & innovative products so follow us on social media and check our website often for new and updated products!

      Wire management and grounding with the PVKIT system is an easy task when designed and planned ahead. We also have cable clips, bonding jumper, and grounding clamps available (www.s-5.com/product-category/hardware/) to make the task even easier. Also, below are a few links to some of our videos that discuss best wire management practices.

    Nope. Flat mount will overheat under the panel, collect too much snow, can't be properly sun angled. There is no free lunch.

      While some projects certainly still have more success with a tilt mount system, the roof top solar industry has largely shifted towards flush mount systems. This is mostly since module efficiency has improved to the point that the ROI from the project is often better with flush mount systems compared to tilt. Flush mount systems can have more modules/roof space, compared to tilted modules which can get better efficiency per module due to the ideal tilt, but module/area is lower since space is lost due to shadows from the raised modules. Tilt mount systems also face much greater wind forces compared to a flush mount system.
