I don't think making a game based on a real life serial killer is a good idea since there are actual victims, wether they're survived or not. That is why Fears of Fathom is good cause you don't know how genuine the reddit stories Rayll based on, and the victims always survived to tell the stories.
This 1000%. The victims still have family members that are alive. Now their pain gets exploited because the devs are too lazy to make their game actually scary. The Golden State Killings weren't ~spooky~. They were sad and tragic and very, very real.
@@JoJo-is-the-name There are countless books and movies and t.v. series about real serial killers and tragic events. _But oh man, don't make a videogame about one._ Movies and books and t.v. series are something that people are actually likely to see, too. I had a feeling it was golden state killer inspired from the title. It just felt so weird because if you are going to make a game inspired by the killer be sure to make it good and incorporate some real stuff. Like how people bought dogs or the home made alarm systems that he really did get around, turn it into some game mechanics or something. I think it was a disservice to the people that were attacked to deviate so wildly then make it seem like he was just some cop looking for a thrill after he retired. It just seemed like it could have been better put together obviously
it's a complete rip off of fears to fathom AND it makes no sense. suspension of disbelief does not exist here bc why are you asleep at 3am at work and your coworker is still there and he has an rv he doesn't sleep in
That first one really just feels like a mockery of Fears to Fathom and games alike it, lmao. I can't take it serious whatsoever and refuse to believe it's not just a big ol' joke (I'd be concerned if it wasn't). LMAO
If you're interested in the real story behind the first game, there's a really good documentary called "I'll Be Gone in the Dark." The story about how they finally caught him is actually kind of crazy.
Lots of love for 616Games, and Fears to Fathom, Funeralopolis, Rat Shaker - here's a list. 1. Although I do appreciate 616's odd and daring choices, the loftiness and carelessness, 616 could've done their own style of night stalker fear without mirroring Fears to Fathom at all. I would love to know what that's like! 2. Funeralopolis: Extremely intriguing characterization, environment, and haunting visuals. 3. Rat Shaker: This is another world and I appreciate this mind and dedication to those vocals.
I knew the first game was gonna be a homage to the golden state killer. Kind of poor taste on the creator to base a game on such horrific events, esp how long it took to catch him and that they were only able to catch him due to those ancestry dna testing things.
when i saw the second game i thought like wow it really looks like Poland in the past... and i was right XDDD its Poland in the game. They even got the iconic washing mashine Frania in there hahah and also the guy Mr. Gnida... gnida is not a very nice word to describe someone....
Ok the characters are fucked Lenny is fucked, the MC is fucked, the NPCs are all fucked and dont even know how to talk themselves WHY is it so difficult to say things like "yeah you might not want to talk to strangers for no reason, but hello!"
All the "press F to pee" and random jokes about bathroom etc.. It was really childish and gross.. It was mixed up version of all the F2F s but let's say the quality was wish or temu level. Dialogues, story.... 4/10 at max.
They literally just ripped off everything from FTF and added like 86 toilet jokes... also the dialogs and story is cringe 5/10... cool concept, poor execution. This is like a Temu version of Woodbury Getaway + Norwood Hitchhike.
That neighbour looks far too much like GSK for my liking.. his name is Joseph too, and GSK was called the night stalker at some point as well.🤮 edit- Wow, took a break and came back to see it really WAS supposed to be GSK. Kind of gross.
What are you talking about, Insym? Are you saying that a person with a personality like Lenny/Leeny, who might act a little quirky, fart a lot, or get overly caught up in feelings for someone, doesn't deserve to be happily married? I remember my uncle was like that-he was even more "out there" than most, but over time, I got to understand the person behind all his quirks and happiness. Yes, he faced struggles like everyone else, but he still managed to smile through it. You're always talking, but it feels like you don't truly understand people. You judge things too quickly. Honestly, I'm really considering unfollowing you because of this, and I don't even care if that makes me sound petty. It just seems like you have a lot of hate for personalities you don't get or appreciate.
He didn't hate the personality, he just found the story telling a little cringe. I don't think fart humor is a personality. People who like fart humor can be cool but that's because it's only part of their personality. Lenny isn't a likeable character because the storytelling did him a disservice by not creating a full personality.
I feel like 616 just wanted to parody FtF with their typical Poop Killer fanbase and type of humor. But unfortunately if you know nothing about 616 or their games you probably won't like it or go looking for it.
I disagree personally. I played a ton of 616 games and just saying that mentioning farts a bunch of times makes this an obvious parody of fears to Fathom when most of the game is a 1 to 1 retracing of FTF doesn't hold water imo. Also if the intent was to be a humourus version of FTF I'd say this is a failure cause the only jokes were "hihi fart". And not in an over the top way like poop killer. More an elementary school humor way.
@Insym My comment wasn't meant to be negative, it was an answer to all of the confused people who are saying this is a clone of FtF's games but very shitty and seem to be unfamiliar with 616 games. So I am just offering them a possible explanation for the motivation/inspiration behind why this game was made. I'm not saying it's on the same level as Poop Killer with constant spam of juvenile jokes, but you can obviously tell it's made by the same dev in the first 5 minutes with some of the dialogue. 616 obviously has their niche for horror fans, I was just suggesting that perhaps if some commenters weren't aware, they wouldn't seek out this content and that's why it seems so bad to them - intentionally or unintentionally.
@@Insym I think it was intended as a parody of FtF, but fell flat because 616 overdid the bathroom humor, which I suppose is on brand for them. It ended up overshadowing the subtler digs, like the strangers’ reactions to the character interrupting them to introduce herself and the “I’ll do all the work myself” line at the house. And think how much funnier a send-up of FtF’s bizarre “using the toilet as a game mechanic” it would have been if they’d had the character poop out of nowhere after peeing twice without all the “bathroom destroyer” and fart-related dialogue beforehand… So yeah, definitely a parody IMO, but a poorly executed one that failed to be funny. Too OTT gross for the real jokes to land.
87 Dollars for a pizza is the real horror game here
Congrats on 1M! Still remember when you started Phasmo and got me hooked.
The same on me xD
Did they try to combine all Fears Of Fathom into one?
I'm nearly at 2h and has to say; clearly Yes
Your Mom died. She was strangulated. She was killed in the front yard.
Insym: 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lmao, I was crying too 😂😂😂😂

Its like making a game about the unfortunate columbine, sandy hill or any of the Ted Bundy killings, its just fucked up and beyond stupid
Yeah I agree plus in most cases that’d be giving the killer exactly what they wanted and probably just embolden more freaks to do horrible stuff

The first game feels like if someone made fears to fathom but in a low budget little big planet format.
The "Leeny" typo absolutely MASSACRED me
And then the message about the mother dying💀
Don't think I've laughed like that in a bit
this is the second day in a row I've laughed this hard and im so happy about it. Leeny can suck it fr
this first game is pissing me off lmaooo but it is very funny. "you're either stupid...or literally a sex offender"
it's a complete rip off of fears to fathom AND it makes no sense. suspension of disbelief does not exist here bc why are you asleep at 3am at work and your coworker is still there and he has an rv he doesn't sleep in
It did make it memorable, though. (Not the good sort of memorable.)
It seems like a parody lol

I'm sure it is, 616 devs make all the poop killer games so it's probably a parody of that niche of home invasion type games.
@@FleshMelter Some of these jokes are so subtle they really made me doubt myself hahaha, glad I'm not alone! It's actually much funnier that way

The name of that creepy neighbour in the second game - Mr Gnida - completely took me out as a Polish speaker 🤣🤣🤣
Ugh, I'm having a hard time watching the Fears to Fathom knock-off game. I hate toilet 'humor', and I'm only 20 minutes in, and I'm already hating it.
Glad to catch up with this! Mixed views so far but I always love your gameplay! ❤😊
What's crazy is she had two people who were completely unrelated to each other try and kill her in the same night.

Same, that Mr Gnida took me out. The first few seconds with the scene of the tram in the street and I was joking "Looks like Łódź" xD
Insym, you gotta play Pico Park with the pro team. It's gonna be fun and chaos
“I’m lost..” I’m lost on what is happening 🤣
That first game...reminds me of Steven He-esque "bootleg title" joke of a title
Like seriously? "Fears to Fathom" => "Tales beyond the Tomb"?
Ok what in the fuck is wrong with the MC, if you did that in real life, its technically bullying by all accounts
Ok the characters are fucked
Lenny is fucked, the MC is fucked, the NPCs are all fucked and dont even know how to talk themselves
WHY is it so difficult to say things like "yeah you might not want to talk to strangers for no reason, but hello!"

This was actually a treat - especially yee who shakes rats
That seemed like the copied homework version of Woodbury Getaway written by a teenager who thinks that toilet jokes are the pinnacle of humor.
2:19:07 For some reason, this reminds me of one of the AniMatrix scenes.

Man, they really did rip off everything from FtF. I’m almost positive the FtF devs could sue and win with how blatant the similarities are
watched the full live it was fun
They did so much bathroom stuff, because they made poop killer and that's just how they are
