- An in-depth look at the legendary Zeiss Ikon Hologon Ultrawide camera. With a limited production run this camera is rare but also amazing to work with. In this video I go into extensive depth on the camera, accessories, loading film, shooting film, processing and scanning film and provide many example images.

Very nice to see not only the unique camera but also the whole process …
That's a really nice camera. Somehow it reminds me of my Tamron SP 17mm, except that the Tamron is a rectilinear design. And the fingers in the frame thing remind me of the Lomography Spinner... I don't think I've ever taken a photo with this thing where they weren't somewhere in the frame. 🙄
BTW, I loved seeing your darkroom! 👍
I wish my old darkroom was still in existence- it was a thing of beauty but was destroyed with water damage around 2007. My new space is very much a hybrid space with a darkroom sink and several JOBO options plus printers and scanners and lots of window light 😄 many times I miss the days in the dim red glow of my old darkroom
You really explained this camera well. I came across someone selling one recently and was intrigued. Also wondering how you achieved the continuous photos. Trying to get my head around it.
Most cameras can do it with a combination of advancing and rewinding film to a specific amount and then advancing again- it takes a bit of practice to get to 100%
Really interesting. Thanks so much.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was fantastic! I had never heard of the camera, and the detail in the shots is beautiful!
It's Contarex, not Contaflex.
Yep- thank you for catching that slip of my tongue
