  • On this small adventure, we do something a little different. We are still looking at relics of the past. However, they are all in a store. On the water's edge in the everglades sits a very humble little building known as Smallwood Store.
This is a simple stroll through to look at some items of significance to the stores' history. On display are things that any traveller might need. As well as small glimpses into some history of the area and the owners themselves.
Another interesting fact that really intrigued us was that it's reportedly haunted. This was told to us by the current owner, who himself had a strange encounter. He also said there was an investigation, but the crew spent the night in their cars instead of inside!
Is it or isn't it? We don't know about that, but we know that is was a fun little place, and we were happy to have stopped in.
Your entry fee also goes to help keep the doors open for this notable store.

Thanks, Carol. We do attempt to research the places we go to as much as possible. Not always easy as sometimes there is a lot of conflicting info on the internet.

Cool place. A bit of sensory overload, I can imagine how overwhelming it was in person. Thanks for showing us all the neat stuff stuffed into that old store. It was interesting to see the many decades these products covered. The old Gulf gas pump behind the door was pretty nifty, I wonder if was restored. The colors were so bold and the glass was still intact. That's not the norm for those old pumps.

It was definitely a sensory overload. There's so much to see you'd need hours to look at it all!
