If the cam gear and the auto decompression have plastic parts......it will fail/melt if you don't have exactly the right mix or vary the mix different from the manufacturer's specs. And if the replacement part is all metal, you should just buy that, put it in, and save yourself some grief in the future.

These are NOT a 2 stroke with valves. They are JUST a 4 stroke, without an oil sump. Thats it. It is not particularly unusual, or special, but you do not often see this in small engines. Fairly common on much larger 2 strokes and 2 stroke diesels found in some marine applications. These are not one. Just a 4 stroke.

Agreed but you have to admit, they are pretty cool! You can't run a standard 4 stroke sideways without modification.... thanks for watching and commenting! 🙏

"it is not particularly unusual, or special but you do not often see this in small engines." Lol contradiction at the highest level

@@bartleyclevens Not at all. Just because they dont typically show up in a particular size of engine does not mean they are uncommon. The vast majority of non heavy duty car engines are gasoline.....would you say that diesel cars are uncommon? Nope!

@@ArionRaine Diesel cars are very uncommon lol. Well, at least here in the US.

@@bartleyclevens Here in the US, yes less common, but globally quite common. Probably more so here in the US than you think.

I think you need to setup another camera for close up shots when working on small stuff like this. It’s difficult to see the small details.
    Interesting engine design though.

Yes I agree. I noticed that same issue while I did the editing. I didn't have my camera person for this one!! Lol I might invest in another camera for sure!

It’s a 4 cycle engine that is lubricated like a 2 stroke, it uses 50 to 1 gasoline oil mix.
The reason the camshaft and gear that are molded together are made out of plastic, is that when plastic is in physical contact with smooth metal it needs far less lubrication strength.
And 50 to 1 mix is enough to deliver these requirements. It has more torque, better volumetric efficiency, uses less fuel and emits less smoke.

Only the Germans can unnecessarily complicate something

    It’s a 4 cycle , with a different lubrication system

It's more of a hybrid 4 mix with no oil slump, problematic engine.after they came with the 91r,their failed oil lubrication will fail Everytime
