  • We demonstrate the Pyro Creations .30 cal black powder cannon. It's important to understand how to use this gadget correctly and safely. We put it through the ringers to show how well it is made so that you can ensure you'll have a safe experience with it.
    Use only under adult supervision.
This is an unpaid (un-sponsored) demonstration.
I can not put a link to Pyro Creation's website due to YT's rules, but you can google it easily.

I was expecting smokeless gun powder as well, not flash powder. May generate more pressure than the flash powder. Don't know how they compare, and can't find any good info on the internet. Of course, there are many varieties of both.

Life would be better if I had an extra inch to play with. Every little bit counts. Ok, I'm gonna continue crying at the pistol range - every round fired brings me closer to the moment when I have to go home and face that "just an inch short"; while at the range, it's an inch low, an inch high, an inch to the left and an inch to the right, but never an inch longer. I can't win.

    Cool little responsible adult toy.
For cleaning the huge bore on that thing a product called
    Thompson Center
    #13 bore cleaner.
It's fantastic. A few squirts and most everything just runs out, follow up rinsing it with lots of Windex to prevent pitting. My good deed for the day....

Hey TAOFLEDERMAUS, not sure if this is the best way to message you, but I’ve been thinking it would be cool to explore the supersonic effects of various rounds. For example, on a calm day, shoot (or “propel”) a round near a column of smoke, across a placid surface of water in a tank, or through some thin Mylar ribbons. Would be cool to see the difference between streamlined vs blunt and compare with subsonic projectile effects.

you should load powder then use white bread for wadding and then load the projectile. its not loud because you need bread wadding and you need to pack with a brass or lead hammer and a wooden dowel rod. try loading with powder and white bread wadding only packed really tight and you will get a good boom and much more power on your projectile. i have been using black powder cannons for over three years and white bread seals and no embers and it does not need to be cleaned up.

Danny and OG could aim that cannon without sights and hit the eye of a midget fly at 100 yards.

    Define legal.
California law states “‘firearm' means any device, designed to be used as a weapon, from which is expelled through a barrel, a projectile by the force of any explosion or other form of combustion.”

But is this designed to be used as a weapon?

Black powder firearms are legally considered “antique firearms” under Californialaw and are therefore not subject to normal California regulations on assembling or manufacturing firearms. ... (a) As used in Sections 30515 and 30530, “antiquefirearm” means any firearm manufactured before January 1, 1899.

Cannon? More like a derringer with a funny looking grip. 🤔
I'm surprised flash powder generated any significant gas pressure-most of the combustion products are solid. It's intended to produce light, not explosive force.

The cannon produces more FPS than most Airsoft guns, and those can break skin and make you bleed already. This could easily go through you, so good on you for thinking safety first.

Thinking back to when I was nine or ten years old and playing with firecrackers and those little green plastic soldiers trying my damnedest to blow them up I would have loved this little cannon. Having said that I did make it out of childhood with all my eyes and fingers so it's probably a good thing I didn't have one.
