Innsbruck Stadtbahn route 5

For anyone who has not visited Innsbruck in the last twenty years would be pleasantly surprised at the changes that have taken place. The first of a two-phase modernisation programme of the tramway network was completed with replacement of the second-hand Duwag trams with a fleet of Flexity Outlook low-floor cars in 2009. Expansion of the network since has seen the addition of two new routes over former trolleybus routes. The opening of the eastern extension to Rum in 2023, completed a major section of the Stadtbahn line. Only the westerly extension to Völs now remains.
