Essentially, its to avoid skidding too hard when turning. Over skidding when cornering affects the speed, ensuring you have knowledge on the racing line for tracks you can get maximum attack. I have a video explaining throttle control which helps visually show what I mean
power helps your car to gain speed . faster speed gain means your car will run quicker and faster in ideal conditions, such as straight line. handling helps your car to reduce the speed loss during cornering. the more sliding produced, more power will be lost. less power mean less speed will be kept by the engine. handling will reduce the slideness of the wheels. this will reduce the power loss during harsh condition, such as corner and turn line. sometimes, depend of the corner, the power loss caused by sliding will reduce your raw power below the other car with lower power but higher handling.

Bear in mind my opinion is just an opinion :) The R34 has a slight edge more than the Rx8 in blocking, however the Rx8 I felt has more overall advantage in driving than the R34. It corners much better and blocking is ok despite its short size. Evo9 in cornering is the same as the R34, it slides a little more. You have to turn minutely earlier and more carefully in corners.

This gives you a few mph faster before changing gears. Give it time and you won't need to think about changing gears. I use the pitch of the engine to know when to shift.

You want to know first how much you need to turn, then know how to minimise corrections to avoid losing speed. There’s no quick method to this as it’s a part of muscle memory. Ah so it wasn't just me when I created her in the game, The slide personally helps at times but its actually pretty hard to go through corners I'd normally be able to get through using the RX7 or the AE86 while keeping the RWD in mind.
got an r34 in the game but i hardly use it, main the r33 instead and 180sx. the 33 and 34 handle fairly similar. the FD is there to test better approaches and most of the time destroy any time i spend with less capable cars...

Thank you dude. It takes alot of practice though, try going wide at the beginning so you leave yourself with plenty of room for the turn and using all the road. When you have that down, then you can gradually get tighter and tighter each time so you get as close to the walls as possible.

My car list are 370 Z, Impreza WRX STI hatchback, Silvia S15, MX-5 Miata (still working on story), Lancer Evo X(still working on story). I know those car mostly uncommon for other players, but those car really suits my driving style. And I like to be different as well.
r34 has more power than rx7,rx7 is better than r34 in hakone cause of its handling but r34 is more balance can play in any of the map not like rx7 it sucks at wangan or any straight map

From what I remember, the Silvia has an awesome engine noise and impressive top speed however the cornering is different to what is expected being a tuner car. It has a drift mentality to it so when turning it slides more than most of the other cars.
Definitely! Its most used on Hakone but not exclusive because its a driving technique. With enough practice your foot will be in tune of how much power to put down on each corner. You could drive on ANY track that has gradients or particularly challenging turns with more control over throttle. Even better is that you can apply the same skill to ANY driving game, I do it for GTA sometimes XD
