- More than six months in the making, “The Last Train” is loosely based on the last scheduled Pere Marquette passenger train to leave the depot in Whitehall, Michigan circa 1926. It was the 150th Fourth of July for our nation, and even a more extraordinary year for West Michigan. Everything was changing, and not everyone was happy about it. Will this be your last train ride?
