Have one really love it...quick question when you mix your instant pudding with the cool whip...can the cool whip part be just whipping cream instead.?

Awesome! I have the USV32 and does the double seal too. 4:42 looks like this model has a better clip method than mine. I don’t get enough clearance on the heat bar from the zipper.

I couldn’t afford an avid chamber vacuum. Got a different brand. They make packing freeze dried goods so much easier and nicer. I often recommend freeze driers to get one

You will love using your Avid Armor chamber sealer! I bought the Avid Armor USV20 chamber sealer almost 3 years ago and love it. It's compact and fits well on the kitchen counter. I can open the lid fully even while the device is under the upper kitchen cabinet. A chamber sealer is not like a vacuum sealer. Totally different process. You can seal liquids in a chamber sealer that you can't do with a vacuum sealer. I make a big pot of soup and use my chamber to seal leftover soup. The chamber sealer will vacuum seal a mason jar in 3-4 seconds. My FoodSaver vacuum sealer takes about 10-12 seconds to seal a jar. I've even put a FoodSaver sealed jar attached to the Avid Armor vacuum port using Avid Armor's vacuum hose and a mason jar lid sealer to see if there was any air left in the jar, and it pulled a little more air out it. Also, a great way to store your oxygen absorbers with confidence there's no air in the jar. Marinates food exceptionally well in a short amount of time. You can use longer bags but have to seal them externally. This function works like a regular vacuum sealer so you can't seal liquids. Check out Avid Armor's video on UA-cam...How to Vacuum Seal Externally Using the Avid Armor Ultra Series ONE Chamber Vacuum Sealer. John, you are going to love using the Avid Armor to seal freeze dried food.

Thanks for watching, Yes I didn't mention that or the marinade feature, sorry. Avid Armor has a great reputation for quality products.

Curious would you consider using that sealer with the 3 seals with this for even more protection?

I bought a VacMaster and it’s awesome! Just beware of the heat sealer bar. It may not completely seal the meal pouches due to the thickness. I found out the hard way. I always use the impulse sealer as a guarantee.

That’s a pretty cool gadget, John! Does it seal mason jars too? I’m running out of storage space for all my stuff and this just might be the solution. I have 10 black and yellow totes that I got from Costco (same ones that Lowe’s carries) that are full of freeze dried food. It seems like there is so much wasted space in them. This gadget could easily resolve that problem. My dilemma…..I’m running out of room for all my kitchen gadgets 😂😂😂😂
Well, never mind me lol! I saw the attachment for mason jars and it just left my mind as soon as I saw it. Sucks getting old 😆😆😆

@@JohnInBibs I’m right behind you! I’ve got a few more years to go! I can retire now, but that means less money from social security.
I’m sure you’ll find plenty to do in your “spare” time, lol! I just got chickens. I planted a LOT of stuff this year (not traveling for work or climbing those roofs anymore-yay) so I have a lot of stuff to keep me busy. I’m hoping for a bounty of food to process in the freeze dryer!

Thanks for watching. I can think of a few reasons that I would NEVER us my FD to vacuum seal bags or jars. I spent over 1000.00 for my pump. To vacuum seal in the FD you have to defrost it and remove all moisture and the tray rack. first. I seal my bags or jars as fast as I can after the FD cycle is done. To remove the rack so you can vacuum seal the bags or jars you have to disconnect the cable in the back. That connection is notorious for getting loose wires and causing errors. I understand a lot of people do it but I would NEVER do it that way. Sorry but I hope you now understand my opinion.

How in the heck do you vacuum seal a bag inside the freeze dryer? Never mind, don't answer I guess. I don't need to know cuz I won't do it.

congrats on your new toy. I'm sure you would enjoy it. I have thought about them but as of now will keep on keeping on the way I am doing. maybe later down the road. I saw a video where some freezed dried foods will just crush or stick together. I can't remember what food stuck together. maybe it was cheese. with one of those you can sure tell no o2 left in the bag, again, congrats on your new toy.
