You were right at the end. In german we most of the time use "studieren" to describe that someone studies at a university , while we use "lernen" if some e.g. learns a language or studys for a some kind of test. Thank you for the amazing Content, i always find your "learning german" videos exceptionally tingly. :^)
Hey great video! In todays German we would rather say "Krawatte" than "Schlips". "Schlips" is more like a old form. 😁 Your german is stunningly great! ❤
the story sounded so strange😂 maybe cause its just for practice but you wouldn’t talk/write like that. especially the part „Du studierst immer Karl, nicht wahr?“ als „Nicht immer, aber ich studiere viel..“ is just not real german. its almost like you would say „you always get enrolled in the bachelor program didn’t you Karl?“ and „Not always but i often take a very close look and speak a bit“. The better german sentences would be „Du übst eigentlich immer Englisch, stimmt‘s Karl?“ „Nicht immer, aber ich übe oft und kann schon ein bisschen sprechen“
fun fact, as far as i know it's actually illegal for beer to be the cheapest drink in German restaurants! there always has to be a non-alcoholic option that's cheaper. its called the apfelsaft-paragraf (apple juice paragraph) haha
Okay so its: „auf wiedersehen“ sagt er zu seinem freund. In this case when the thing he says is first then the verb is also first (i dont know how to explain sorry haha) but thats the storytelling version somehow. Otherwise it would be er sagt „auf wiedersehen“ zu seinem freund And the other is: sie geben dem kind ein glas milch am abend. Because its „das glas“ so neutral. If you want to say „sie geben dem kind ein glas milch abends“, i think its not wrong but its more natural to say „sie geben dem kind abends ein glas milch“

Oh yeah, it's very fake. It is only for beginners and I think the text is a bit old now but just repackaged. It is a good grammar book though :D
