This video was so interesting, thank you Doron and Elsa! I find it strange that a country that puts such emphasis and importance on family and births gives such a low level of maternity leave. Many countries in Europe give a whole year of maternity leave including pay!

Regarding testing, I believe that Iceland does something similar when it comes to pre-natal testing. Apparently, because of that, almost nobody gives birth to babies with Down’s syndrome. Pretty interesting.
Also, what’s the deal with pronunciation differences in Israel? Are they more regional or generational? Like at 7:56 Elsa says נִרְאָה instead of נִרְאֶה and sometimes I hear people say וְבְלִי in place of וּבְלִי or לִגְבָּרִים instead of לִגְבָרִים and things like that.

לגבי הבדלים בין האיזורים- ישראל היא מדינה מאוד קטנה אז אין הבדל גדול בין האיזורים(אם יש הבדל הוא ממש קטן). זה לא כמו ההבדל בין המבטא של טקסס לזה של ניו יורק.
לגבי הדוגמאות שנתת, זו לא שאלה של הגייה אלא של דיוק בכללים של העברית. בשיחות יומיומיות אנשים פחות מקפידים על הכללים האלה. כדי לשמוע את העברית עם הכללים המדוייקים ביותר אפשר להקשיב לקרייני חדשות ברדיו. מקווה שההסבר היה ברור:)
