Hi Toni, you can use a needle to thread the loose gold string through the wrapped gold string section. Go back and forth several times and it’ll be secure.

I love to make tassels. When I’m tying my gold thread on top I wrap it first then tie a knot. After that I pull the ends over the top of the wrapped thread and down thru the center of the tassel and cut the ends short. They blend in to the center and you won’t see them.🎀
I forgot to say... I pull the thread thru the center with a needle.😉

Cute tassels! I wonder, for tying the final knot, if you left some of the original "hanging" thread loose, if you could tie that to the thread you just cut off the spool at the end? Hope that makes sense! I will have to give this a try. I may have some large jump rings already, & I do have a ton of embroidery floss. Thank you for sharing, & have a fabulous day! :)

Put your thread on a needle, using the needle, pull the tail thru the wrapped thread on the tassel. This will secure it enough. Hope this makes sense. When wrapping the thread around I leave enough to tie a knot then do the above.
