@@cliveparaschis thank you, I was moved by your comment too! In that moment, I was imagining a sudden bolt of lightning on a dark, stormy night…and how the rest of the story would go. ⛈
Always amazed at how some people can be talented! This piece known for being complex, being able to play it at 16 makes me so jealous!! 😂 You played this Ballad in about 10 minutes, but we should never forget the many hours of practicing that preceded those 10 minutes.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful comment! 🥹🥹 Performing an intricate, timeless piece like the Ballade is worth all the hours of practice!
@@LillianFeng I was 15 when I first heard this Ballade and loved it, I'm now much older and still can't play it, although I practice the piano for about 1h30 a day in the evening , I must be doing something wrong 😂 Nevermind, if I can't play for a public and make people happy listening to it as you do, I can still enjoy the piano for myself. I wish you the very best for your future career! 🙏
bro actually noone is born soo talanted... everything is hard work i was soo god student in mustc school at early ages until 6th class but next i had literally 5 year of pause i was about to leave music... last year i couldn't even play chopin etude no5 and i thought it was the hardest piece im going to play all of my life what a cringe... just 1 year passed and now i literally play chopin ballade no1 and learned ballade no3 myself in 1 week, the only talent pianist needs is ability of hardworking because when u practice alot u do not only improve ur technical skills but also u grow up ur way of looking at music ur taste ur way of expressing that everybody is unique u just need hella hard intense hardwork to fibd out ur possibilites... some people see 2-3 hrs a day absolutely enough time for pianist to study but if u want such a progress then u haven't to complain about 6-7 hrs of practisings... at first its hard but after 1 month it gets easier funny and this long time just flys out like a second after that u dont even find this surprising someone plays ballade no1 at age of 16 because age doesn't rlly matter after such a hardwork
Also just learning it, started with the Coda. I have total respect for this piece. And yes, it is an inspiration to listen to this interpretation. Thank you for sharing....)))
Thank you, Roland! It’s such a technically and musically complex piece, and very close to my heart. I’m glad you liked my performance! Great idea to start with the Coda. Happy practicing! 💪 😊
Beautifully played, Miss Lillian! I especially like your use of rubato throughout and the rhythmic accents in the finale! All the best to you in your continued career. 🌹
Thank you! And I agree with you that this performance could have more rubato. I do have a later recording that is more expressive and flowing, hope you check it out!
This is a live performance. Music starts at 0:41
Thank you for watching! 🎶🎶
The music starts well before that: the silent contemplation before a key is struck is very apt . Very moving.

@@LillianFeng Was this an f278 or an f308?
@@frazzledude My guess is an f278 as it's a 9' Fazioli!
