I LOVE +all attributes. Everyone can find gear, anyone can start in normals and find some good starter gear, move into hr comfortable or go straight to hr and find decent upgrades pretty quickly.
I gave my friend a free code and all his experience is is dealing with alot of mobs and running into two teams early game making it chaos. Just want him to clear rooms, loot n get out.
idea, add weight to the throwing axes/knifes. Slow the nerds with the inventory of throwing bs to make it easier to hit. (im still salty about dieing to one before)
Honestly miss being able to do trio ice caverns and 5x5 goblin caves a 10 minute map rotation would be nice or just do free pick while we got 10k players
Lack of map rotation is going to drive me away in a few weeks. The friends I play woth don't enjoy the game nearly as much as I do and drop out earlier in the wipe, leaving me to play solo. If I'm stuck facing duos or trios all wipe to get quests done, I'll just play something else
I really like the solo queue now. As someone who barely had any PVP experience in this game, I'm actually learning a lot about it now. Though I prefer the 10 min rotation system too.
I think the current multi classing system is going to make end of wipe awful. You only get yo even use it if you play tons which will increase the end of wipe burnout since casual players will feel outpaced. It’s going to feel really shit when we start getting invisible barbarians and the like.
12:26 oh no that's also what happens in crypts too since they changed the circle timing a couple hotfixes ago. The one after they made just crypts available towards the end of last wipe. You now just spawn and have to start making your way to the circle or where you think its going to be becuase the first circle encompases the whole map. You have some time to loot as you go along but you really have to be aware of the circle over the course of the match. Because otherwise it's essentially chase the circle to be there towards the end or else you end up having to frantically find portals without being able to A. loot fights you won or B. fight at all at the end bc if you do, you all end up dying to zone. The only map this doesnt happen on currently is frozen caves because it got no changes other than a couple of statics removed. So the zone timing is fine.
I totally agree about map rotation, but the community will have a fit (the trio community) lol. I'd say leave trios in crypts and give solo/duo rotation I ran into a bis bard, cleric, fighter last night. They all had +8 all. I had epics with true and add. They took no dmg from direct fireballs and missles. It's def going to be a problem
I think the perfect solution is have trio crypts available 24/7 then rotate the rest. The biggest problem last wipe was the quests werent conducive to map rotation. Having to kill lich 15 times with rotation sucked because it took roughly 35 minutes to do all three levels and youd just miss the next trio crypts
Based, I've been enjoying the heck out of the current wipe maybe just solely out of new content BUT I've had the same thoughts. Those dang throwing axes are ridiculous lol. I also hope for rotation to come back. Cheers!
I think they should have a "ranged" slot. It holds arrows for rangers axes for barbs and knives for rogues and whatever for fighter. Then that ranged slot is the only place you can carry axes/knives and they only stack to like 3-4. No hoarding them in your inventory to hot swap them to your pocket slots
1. i do agree the 10 minute rotation would be so much better especially now that they're moving to epic 2. speaking of that "we didn't make the choice" comment tells me all i needed to hear; the higher ups took a money hat from epic so be ready for that exclusivity for a year 3. Gobolin cave....god what a mixed relationship, on the one hand it's chaos...on the other hand i'm a cleric and i haven't been able to get out more than 3 times. it actually reminded me that the meta hasn't changed in the slightest, that speed is king for every single class, no exception. 4. The Squire is dope, gives classes more variety, i hope they have him increase his inventory and the quality up to Whites as you complete quests for the other merchants....granting loading up as anything but the fastest is a terrible idea.. good news and changes, though i still wish they put more mechanics into the combat system so it's not just speed/kite meta as it's been for months. and yeah francs are still busted on the fact they hit so hard while haviing NO MOVEMENT DRAWBACKS unlike all us casters.
I pretty much agree with a lot of your points Spuddy but you forgot 1 negative THERES STILL CHINESE TEAMERS AND GOLD FARMER'S *Edit - Even got that nnds or whatever his name is banned from wipe day, teaming AGAIN
Map rotation is better (for solos at least rn) BUT, they have to adjust the portal count and not have easier maps or maps that have more loot. And that would take a lot of work in the current state. If people sit out maps on a regular basis it will negatively impact server performance, fun and que times.
They did some shenanigans to make the servers "feel" smooth. In reality what they actually did was just find out how to hide the rubberbanding behind massive desync. Watching playbacks and deathcams and seeing attacks go straight through people constantly and them being literally meters away from where you see them. Its actually way worse for the game health than the rubberbanding was and when people realize what is actually happening its not going to be good.
ok let's be real though, the clip of you chasing the last guy around the square is exactly why "wizard op" and the ranged meta exists. melee classes have a very hard time approaching you, even if you have to cast your .5sec spells
If everyone in these clips just ran straight at Spud he would've been dead in 80% of these clips. Giving the Wizard space is exactly what the Wizard wants. Wizards are not Warlocks; getting within melee range is almost always a guaranteed kill.
did you know that you can sacrifice a bit of damage and pdr to run faster and catch up to them. you should watch skinny pete how to melee class without throwing.
13:55 brother that one spawn where you open your spawn door and there is a goblin archer/bolaslinger to your right and a pdr fighter right infront of you with only a bat between you and him xD
So what im predicting here is a whole lot of pdr or magic dmg builds. With the new attributes on plate, and 2 all etc its easy to get insane pdr while still being insanely statted. Which means low hp phys dmg classes are in the gutter here. Which means warlock and wiz are needed in all comps late game. Warlocks have a waaay easier time getting their movespeed up, they profit the most by far from the extra addi/tru magic dmg they added and if everyone has more hp, the. Warlocks insta heal is waaay stronger all of the sudden. Which brings me to wizard. All attributes is insane for wiz for general stats. But more importantly u get so much knowledge and with that memory that u can run spell overload with 10 spells and just have double the spells at no real cost (cuz in bis ur gonna have that memory anyways) OR U just run arcane shield and ice shield, u build some armor and health and u can auto diff every class not running a shield cuz magic missile has the best dmg in the game. U can get loads of effective health this way so bis wizard is just gonna be tank wizard u can melee down...
Map rotation just really should be a thing. 1. Most players are solo's anyways (If info is still accurate) 2. Currently only trio's is able to boss at all 3. Trio's that cry about having to wait 10 minutes to boss so that other people can boss as well can let Cave troll sit on their face
Yeah lack of map choice is likely to get a bit stale for me once my friends hop onto other games and I'm forced to mostly solo for the rest of the season, as they don't usually stick around for the full 3 months, hopefully activity does pick up so we can get a little more option or a map rotation again, I genuinely didn't mind the rotation that much Sorry my bad "ahem" HOW DARE YOU HAVE OPINIONS OF YOUR OWN! I will be taking this up with the reddit authorities!
i think if iromace left +2 all in the game but just rewrote it to say on the piece "+2 vigor +2strength +2 dexterity +2 agility +2 will +2 knowledge +2 resourcefulness" it would be a lot more clear how outrageous it is to exist as a roll
Spuddy you hit the nail on the head--the first week of wipe is fun and then the issues with the game become exponentially revealed. Watched your stream today and you had the best idea I've heard: just have gear affect PVE. PVP is based on baseline stats so it can actually be balanced. There's simply too many variables for them to have base stats on gear, random modifiers, varying rarities--there's just no realistic way to balance that, it's the same issue with WoW PVP. Something is going to be insanely broken, and something is going to be borderline unplayable. It's a really bad way to design a game. The current system is bad. It makes the PVE boring because you just walk over it (or ignore it entirely and lock it behind a door). It makes the PVP frustrating because in most cases you either get steamrolled or it's you steamrolling someone else. It's very rare that a PVP battle falls somewhere in the middle. So if they made PVP just utilize baseline stats and values for each class, they could actually make the PVE difficult and balance gear around it. They could design maps with a PvE focus and allow the PVP to be an *element* of the game. Right now, it feels like the PvE is an element of the game, when it should be an important part of each dungeon, and the PVP is..... well, it's something.
Well written man, I doubt we'd see such fundamental changes though. It's a complete 180 for what they've been struggling to accomplish for ages. I hope something good comes of it.
One further thought: currently, dying in the dungeon is insanely punishing, since losing your gear weakens you in PVE but more importantly in PVP. You just lost a fight to someone, and now the next one will be even harder. Contrast this to a game where the gear only affects PVE: it's still fun to kill a player and take their gear because you can either use it to be stronger against monsters, or sell it. Looting gear is fun because you get stronger against the primary element of the dungeon, the PVE. Dying isn't as big of a deal because yeah, the monsters will take a little longer to kill, but your chances of killing another player are not decreasing every time you die. Gear changing hands is a GOOD THING in a game like this. But the current system only allows the strongest players to accumulate infinite wealth while the average player struggles to assemble a competitive kit, just dying to PVP again and again. It's a system that will only ensure that there is no casual playerbase for the game.
If there aren't enough players for a full selection system, then there needs to be at a minimum the dual system of partial rotation, partial selection. That way me and my team are never stuck with only a single map option. None of us want to play f**king goblin caves as a trio.
Here's to hoping they use that data they kept showing off like it meant something. The seemingly constant whiplash of coddling outcries instead of looking at the health of the game in isolation of player trends, is the main reason I am still skeptical. Active playerbases are good and all, but the formula for the game has staggered so hard off of the playtests that it almost feels alien to play. The pitch of a medieval dungeon delver that becomes entrapped by the appeal of it's plunder is slowly becoming tarkov skyrim, so much so that I played quake champions instead just to get a feel for it again.
Idk much about epic or any controversy surrounding them but I know they released the unreal engine 5 free to use, make and sell your game with, and they only take a cut if your game profits over $1 million and even then it's a pretty fair cut (5%) so I respect them for that. It's invaluable for small/Indy dev teams like IronMace and countless others.
I do find it hilarious that the devs have stated they want the PvP to have longer TTK, but go the opposite direction of that by making gear "rarer", buffing the damage stats and reintroducing +all attributes. (They also say they made gear rarer even though people are now pulling named items from gold piles, one of which is really easy to access in frost caves, and you can now stack a ton of luck through gear.) +all attributes is the definition of gear diff and we also have 10%+ armor pen/damage bonus on weapons, along with +4 additional damage on amulets. Yeah, you can now also build PDR/MDR to insane amounts (bards can basically hit the hard cap of PDR), but it's the same thing in a different way, leading to the same problem: Can skill realistically make up the difference between a player that will die in 3 hits, versus one that will die in 10 hits? Probably not. This along with changes to leveling and the introduction of multiclassing does not make me hopeful for the later stages of wipe. The differences between a generic full purple kit and a full purple with the best rolls is staggering. We're moving further away from having skill expression and it's even more gear oriented. People hated gold kits because it allowed people to easily make insanely optimized builds which usually rolled everyone they came across. We now have something stronger than that, but it's random to find. Regardless, once someone pieces the optimal build together, it's just gonna carry them in every fight except for when they meet their counter class. Then, depending on how multiclassing works, the difference between the "skilled" player and the player who just has way too much time on their hands will be unreasonable. I can't wait to get triple shot by a ranger with smite, or get shot with a crossbow from someone who has reckless attack and blow of corruption. How about a cleric with spell overload? 6 lesser heal, 4 sanctuary, 4 earthquakes, etc.
I stopped playing once they forced us to queue for a map depending on party size. Map rotation was the best and most fun. As always sweats ruin fun things for everyone else.
i really believe the +all is back simply because of multiclassing so say you can be a barbarian and with enough +all you can cast spells better, ya know?
Throwing meta did get slowed down a bit. You dont auto equip any throwable to your hotbar from picking them up, the option to autofill hotbar is gone completely and there is an equip time for each throwable. Not a hard nerf but cant spam more than what you got equipped for a fight...usually.
The average player will still throw around 6 (3 utility slots) of them before equipping more. I have seen people carrying no Torches or meds in their utility slots just to carry the max amount of frannies. It was a step in the right direction, but it's still dumb
I wonder what would happen if someone was blocking and you put the explosion spell right on their shield and they dropped the shield on the ground like "HOT HOT HOT!" would the explosion still be on the player? or on the shield on the ground?

Just wanting to point out. I’m not somebody who grinds out the Crypts bosses but, the way it was before was wait 10 min for ruins to come up, Go thru ruins, then crypts, then hell just to boss, not get the right boss because there’s 3 of them, and have the match take anywhere from 25-30 min only to have to then wait another 5-10 min for the next time ruins shows back up. I didn’t get to finish my boss runs for the quest because I kept getting screwed out of the right boss or had another team meet us there, and we’d have to fight them and run out of time to fight the boss. Map rotation made doing the quests horrible. I feel like if they make the AP lobbies for the leader board on a rotation so that way you can prove you have mastered the maps and are good at the game not just farming one map, and make the pick your own map system on the side for people to grind gear and bosses. Then also making PvP more incentivized by boosting how much a PK is in the AP lobbies it would make the grind way more fun and actually make the game feel playable.
Map rotation was way more than 10 minutes. It actually was an hour it felt like lol. Plus it stayed for like 30 minutes so you could only play 1 game for the most part
I personally hope they add a report button in the future. I'm tired of the massive amounts of teaming that happens in the goblin caves, and its basically 'off-meta' for not teaming because you have that safety cushion of ganking people in HR solo's.

I LOVE +all attributes. Everyone can find gear, anyone can start in normals and find some good starter gear, move into hr comfortable or go straight to hr and find decent upgrades pretty quickly.
Dude i couldn't agree with you more. You hit the nail on the head for every issue, they need to just hire you at this point.
i'll have you know, good sir, that the more i hear you talk about cinematic techniques on stream the more i notice you use them in your vids. :D
:)
(im still salty about dieing to one before)
Love the editing on these vids
Cheers
Man i cant believe this guy microwaves kittens truly a evil man
I agree with you on the map rotation, as a solo I liked being able to play all the maps in solo lobbies. Hoping they’ll bring that back soon
Dude same
The part where the guy didn’t think you saw him was gold
Glad to see you aren't letting the haters stop you. Your content is hilarious. Cheers mate.
Cheers
I aspire to be a fraction as funny as you consistently are cheers dude!
Cheers, surround yourself with funny people 💪
12:42 i love the direct headshot with no hit-reg
I totally agree about map rotation, but the community will have a fit (the trio community) lol. I'd say leave trios in crypts and give solo/duo rotation
I ran into a bis bard, cleric, fighter last night.
Cheers!
Literally every game ending 13:00 in the arena
Everytime I watch your videos I want to come back to Dark and Darker XD
Calling crypts the fun map is the truest thing any human has ever dared to speak out loud.
This wipe is so awesome! Having a blast on my Warlock that i didnt touch last season, and the new Perk is insane.
1. i do agree the 10 minute rotation would be so much better especially now that they're moving to epic
2. speaking of that "we didn't make the choice" comment tells me all i needed to hear; the higher ups took a money hat from epic so be ready for that exclusivity for a year
I pretty much agree with a lot of your points Spuddy but you forgot 1 negative
THERES STILL CHINESE TEAMERS AND GOLD FARMER'S
*Edit - Even got that nnds or whatever his name is banned from wipe day, teaming AGAIN
I miss map rotation too was nice being able to go to other maps as a solo without getting perpetually fucked into the dirt by trios or duos
I personally won’t be playing solos until rotation comes back, I’ve never liked goblin caves
This season, player Count gonna drop rapidlY
Map rotation is better (for solos at least rn) BUT, they have to adjust the portal count and not have easier maps or maps that have more loot. And that would take a lot of work in the current state. If people sit out maps on a regular basis it will negatively impact server performance, fun and que times.
I love you because even though I know this is work and that can be a pain in the ass, you love doing this work. I hope you blow up soon Spud
Best Dark and Darker content Creator ! Cheers !
Cheers Boys! 🍻

"The quests look like you can accomplish them now" *zooms in on in-compleable quest*
I can already see a meta barb with vigor +all + health and overheal cleric late game........ It's gonna happen.
Im with you fella. Bring back Rotations! 🙌🔥✨
But more importantly u get so much knowledge and with that memory that u can run spell overload with 10 spells and just have double the spells at no real cost (cuz in bis ur gonna have that memory anyways)
OR
U just run arcane shield and ice shield, u build some armor and health and u can auto diff every class not running a shield cuz magic missile has the best dmg in the game.
U can get loads of effective health this way so bis wizard is just gonna be tank wizard u can melee down...
Map rotation just really should be a thing.
1. Most players are solo's anyways (If info is still accurate)
2. Currently only trio's is able to boss at all
3. Trio's that cry about having to wait 10 minutes to boss so that other people can boss as well can let Cave troll sit on their face
Yeah lack of map choice is likely to get a bit stale for me once my friends hop onto other games and I'm forced to mostly solo for the rest of the season, as they don't usually stick around for the full 3 months, hopefully activity does pick up so we can get a little more option or a map rotation again, I genuinely didn't mind the rotation that much
Sorry my bad "ahem" HOW DARE YOU HAVE OPINIONS OF YOUR OWN!
I think a rotation would be nice. But also 5x5 Gobo caves was just so dam good and way nicer than the gobo caves we have now. I miss the 5x5 alot lol
Appreciation to the cocktail throwing skill residing in muscle memory
I wish everyone would use the gathering hall rather than asking for map rotation. It's actually really good.
Throwing axes should NOT slow when being hit by one
If there aren't enough players for a full selection system, then there needs to be at a minimum the dual system of partial rotation, partial selection. That way me and my team are never stuck with only a single map option. None of us want to play f**king goblin caves as a trio.
The map rotation swapped every 30 mins on NA West, would love to see it be back with queue swaps every 5-10 mins
Waking up at 6am to find a spuddy video?? Day's already looking bright and brighter ✨️
GOATed video
As a solo player, I agree with map rotation
I think the perfect solution is map rotation but leave trio crypts accessible 24/7
I love the open map with the wisps thats my favorite map. I want it back.
I agree with rotation, I don't think free choice will work yet with population yet. But there's a lot of good shit this wipe so far.
hey get the suggestion to them that you can't strafe whilst throwing an axe, only go forwards and backwards
Love you spud 🤣 always true to the comedian side and the wholesome game “reviewer”
glad to have you back in the dungeons friend
Your humor is exactly what this community needs
This update definitely feels good to play. I just hope my casual buds will give it a go..
Tbh map rotations would be a good thing to have if, like, they were only available on weekends or something.
We love ya spud, everything you said is on point
BreakingInMan rreporting in with the famous question: "Hey Spuddy, what do you think about the new dakka 'n' dakka play?" I would like to see more gameplay with the finger blaster 3000. Finger bang, finger bang bang you!
Haha, more soon as rogue 😂
personally, i absolutely hate goblin caves as a solo player. so, i'm having trouble starting since all i do is ice or crypts, but i die to most pvp there because obviously teams vs solo me
As a solo player, rotation was great! But now that it's gone, I've had to go out of my comfort zone and make new friends just so I can play the maps that don't suck. Thanks for forcing me to be social and no just a murder-hobo, Ironmace...
The axe thing is true.
I dont even want to play this game anymore and im still watching your vids spud. Cant wait for the CPM channel to pick up.
Cheers. Soon tm brother
bro the dude sitting on the ledge hahahaha 7:35
Map rotation for the win spuddy, I agree with you
I liked rotations more too but they just need more similarity in gameplay between the different maps
The demigod reward is a joke, the cape looks like those glow in the dark space stickers slapped on a cape. I really hope they don't lean more on the BR side for this game. I was interested in the extraction looter part
Bro OCE servers are actually A L I V E again I am so stoked!
What if crypts had a voting phase for what boss would spawn?
Map rotation was way more than 10 minutes. It actually was an hour it felt like lol. Plus it stayed for like 30 minutes so you could only play 1 game for the most part
I personally hope they add a report button in the future. I'm tired of the massive amounts of teaming that happens in the goblin caves, and its basically 'off-meta' for not teaming because you have that safety cushion of ganking people in HR solo's.
