What scares the crap out of me is the huge number of people in my country who have absolutely no regard for truth, logic, evidence and in general, critical thinking - trumpers.

I know you're using that term casually but there's an actual medical mental illness term for this, I forget it exactly but it's something along the lines of: flight of ideas, clanging, cluttering, circumstantial thinking, derailment of thought (I don't think that's the actual term in the DSM though).
Just look up the Wikipedia for Thought Disorders and you'll find all of these. It's pretty eye opening. Some of them even apply to myself. I tend to tell really long stories with a ton of detail that delays getting to the main point. I didn't even know that was unusual until my therapist explained it to me.
What he says, or knows, or doesn't know, makes no difference to the frightened, deluded, followers that have fooled themselves into believing in his every word.

1) That is not a bad thing. Part of being socialist just means that some of the institutions of the country are owned and run by the government, like the fire department, the police department, schools and hospitals.
2) As such, being a socialist country does not mean that it can't also be a democratic one.
If you don't like socialism at all, then that means that the police would be a private company, whose service you pay for. Guess what happens if you can't afford to pay them? They don't protect you.

I believe the question may have been referring to the disparity in how different races are treated by the police, rather than the disparity of the racial mix within that force.
However- Yes, any nations law enforcement will be dominated by the most numerous race in that country, as Dominus X says.
The problem lies in- 1 . An innate racism in that law enforcement agency of virtually all nations ( whether it be the USA, Britain, Norway, Thailand, Jamaica, Mexico , India ( in their case often due to the Caste system) etc etc, it will still be there) and -
2. The distrust and dislike which less numerous, mostly poor races have for that police force, usually as a result of their experiences. Poor, ethnic minorities, particularly in urban areas, are factually statistically more likely to commit crime: They historically have less opportunities to work ( unless they have an ability to start and run their own business), are marginalised in low standard, rented accommodation, are less likely to inherit assets from parents, experience racism and suspicion, and thus may turn to crime. Hence, the one -race dominated police stop and search them more often. This stop and search bias is now influenced by police forces having to meet so many tick-box targets ie An arrest is another tick on the total and will help keep the bean counters at bay. The viscous circle is completed by these minorities having little wish to join the police.
If more joined, the increased exposure to different minorities would help open the minds of the dominant race in the law enforcement agencies, as well as those of ethnic minorities. It should be a hearts and minds issue, where police forces show their human side, ask to go to religious festivals and places of worship, and invite people from minorities to similar places and occasions in return. Everyone can introduce themselves and talk as equals.
If certain religions choose to reject such advances, and isolate themselves, that is their unfortunate choice. That shouldn't stop those approaches being made, and made again and again. Persistence can be an admirable quality. It causes barriers to come down.
