Pete was such a great college coach. Back when Saban was at his peak and I was still worried about him moving on one day, I always said Pete Carroll would be who I called to try and lure to the capstone. I know he was in the league but Bama can be tempting. Anyway, Saban stayed so that scenario, thankfully, never had to come into play. But I'd love to see him back in college.

UNC alum. Couple things. Gotta believe Bill's old OC absolutely boat racing the Heels in Boston the other day with a backup QB had to have the Hoodie thinking, "Hell, I can do this in my sleep." Also HC in the NFL basically devolves to making a billionaire happy and sometimes what makes a billionaire happy is NOT sharing his team w a HOF coach and GM. Even in the college ranks HCs do not want to get stuck in a sitch where a handful of big donors run the program, as we saw with the recent Mike Gundy business. Bill might see Carolina as something of a sweet spot; plenty of resources and brand, moderate expectations, and no puppetmaster in his suite on gameday. However, we are already seeing pushback at the school from the same anti-FB forces that ran Butch Davis off. The hour is late and there is no real Plan B. Hoodie or bust.
