Your video clips of these old 8mm cine films are just awesome - fantastic. As I used to work for British Airways these shots give me nostalgic feelings of the old and also much better times. Thanks a lot for your excellent work!

You have no idea how much I appreciate the correctness of your audio in this film. Sound technicians seem to think everything with a prop needs to sound like an R-1340 wailing its way through the sky, and every Heli sounds like a Bell 206. Superb work😉👍
Many thanks. You're right; did you see the Viscount take off in The Crown? They spent millions on the series but still had piston prop noise over the turbo prop Viscount. I have a sound library that's actually all video clips, from memory it's just over 400Gb, all catalogued as to airliner type and what action is taking place. Not every match is perfect, as some sound just doesn't exist. So if I have a Viking with a sleeve valve Hercules, I'll use the same engine from a Varsity. But the Hercules on a Bristol Freighter sounds quite different. Fortunately I have the correct sound for that!
Yeh, the Freighter has stacks and the Varsity has a collecter ring. Wow I take my hat off to your movie clip collection, that would also be very entertaining to the initiated. A movie like the aviator was a big let down in this area but no multi engined R-4360 powered aircraft flying existed to source for the H-4 as the Berlin airlift Stratocruiser hadn't yet flown. But it's always a good laugh to see a piper cub in some movie that roars along to the tune of a RR Merlin. My family and friends think I'm odd for getting bent out of shape over such details. I will say though that Spielberg warmed my heart in that scene in "Empire of the sun" with the P-51 attack. How many grown men felt that they were Jim at that moment?@@howardasbridge4497

It's really wonderful that these aviation films are being preserved for the future. Super!
