Days of Our Lives is not being cancelled. This is a planned hiatus. The writer’s want to be able to make quick changes to storylines so the show is taking a 4 month break. Everyone was laid off to save money til then. I just read about it last week. When they return, there will only be a 2 month advance of taped episodes instead of 6 months like it’s been. It will be positive. If viewers like or dislike a storyline, they will be able to change it much faster.

I hope they don't cancel Days. I missed it a few days, & when I came back it was 1 year pushed, but I wondered why? I figured it was a dream, but I don't know. All I know is I'm a long time fan & I will stick with whatever the writers put out there. Please stick with us if your a die-hard fan. I know I've complained, but in doing so it hurts the story. NBC wants to keep the show on 100%. It is Sony's fault this is going on. Corday Productions which owns the show is suing Sony for $20 million regarding several things that Sony has done in the past several years to hurt the show. If they can't come to some kind of resolution, Corday will have to voluntarily stop producing the show. But NBC if anybody will do whatever it takes to keep the show on.
I watched days with my mom when I was a little girl. I'm 41 and still watch. I can't imagine not watching. I laugh, smile, and even cry with this show. NBC will be losing a lot by losing days
Donni Lee I so agree. I’m 45 and my Mom and I call each other as soon as the show goes off. Think we could talk bout Days for hours. My Mom watched it with her Mom. Be ashamed for it to end. I’m trying to give it a chance with what’s going on now. Who knows with time they might get it back to all the love it had back in its hay day. Hopefully 🤞🏼

Same here, I was 12 years old when I use to watch Days with my mom. I am 57 and I still watch Days. When I was stationed overseas in the 90s, my family used t record the shows and mail the tapes to me. If the show is indeed destined to be cancelled it is very disheartening. I kept watching as one of my ways of keeping a tradition with my mother, she has gone on to heaven 26 years ago.

They can deny it all they want but it doesn't look like they're being honest at all! They've said they're far enough ahead in taping to go until Summer 2020.... which is when they're up for renewal. I remember when NBC cancelled Another World and said they were planning on going to an all daytime news or talk show format; so, I've been waiting for the shoe to drop on Days ever since. When they say, "We're still here!" as they did on Instagram, they aren't saying "until we wrap it up"! Maybe they're "still here" because they're taping the "tying up loose ends" part of the show! If that's the case, then they MAY get one more year to tie up those loose ends. Remember: Billy Flynn (Chad) and Abigail, stated they weren't leaving the show when, in fact, they were! We all know: NO network releases ALL their actors from their contracts at the same time if they're coming back from "hiatus"! Besides, when you bring back every beloved character from the dead and bring our favorite couples back together, it's way too hard to believe you!!! Until we see you on air AFTER Summertime 2020, don't hate us if we doubt you! What's really sad is NBC not caring about Days' fan base! Do they really think any of us will tune in and watch another talk show or more news?!? Soaps are like the trades: it's a dying art! NBC cannot be making a more huge mistake! Then again, one can't say much about the NBC execs' intelligence these days, can one?! Either way, NBC is making one of the poorest decisions they've ever made --- if cancelling Days is in the cards! Get ready to drop to the bottom of the daytime ratings if you do choose to drop the longest running soap! After 50+ years, Days has die hard fans and we'll watch it to the end --- then we'll turn NBC off for good during the daytime and get things done around the house!!!
My Grandparents started watching Days when it started in 1965. My mother became hooked and then I got hooked too. I'm 59 almost 60. This show is important to me. I don't watch any other soap operas and I'm saddened by the end of this show. If this show ends, I will not watch any other shows on nbc. If nbc does this I will walk away from this channel.
I have watched DAYS since I was 9 yr old. I am 51 now. I pray that it is not cancelled. Of all the soaps that used to be on. It is the only one left that I watch. I record it everyday. As far as the time jump... It's different but it is worth watching and giving it a chance.
ken corday heard the fans were worried,but he said that days has already been renewed. The ratings are up and they are staying consisent. If there is a soap that should be worried about being cancelled, is general hospital. they need new writers that can actually write.
My grandmother turned me on to Days years ago. I am a 60 year old woman so I've been watching Days for most of my life. Like Phoenix said this is a very depressing day. This is the very best soap that there is. Let's all unite and save Days. Let's get the ratings to sky rocket so that the show does not get canceled. I know if we all stick together and think positive we can make this happen. 🤗
This breaks my heart because I started watching Days with my momma as a small child. She passed away almost 3 years ago and watching Days is one of the few things that brings back happy memories. I'm going to be so sad.

I hope they don’t fade out this is the only thing I look forward to everyday and this will be a big let down and don’t get the main characters to leave the show that’s been on there for so many years it’s hard to get use to new characters especially with the great ones that’s already on the show I hope the story line of Ben and Ciara will come back to the love story instead of trying to hurt someone and don’t change the characters they are so sweet to each other
That's such crap! I live in Idaho and my mom in Florida and we watch daily and then spend hours talking about it! I have done this since I was 12 and I am almost 49. Day's, please don't end the show. It is 1 of the few reasons my mom holds on to life. She lives for 2 things, watching days and 7 pm bed time!
My husband came home from work last night about 8pm and said he heard on out local radio station that it was going to be canceled and that they had released all the actors from their contracts. He didn't know anything about it yet and knows that I talk to my mom about it daily and was like what are yall gonna do now?
Wow...I'm in shock!! You are absolutely correct!! All of the negativity about the show needs to stop, and more positive energy needs to be put out!!. I've seen so many great shows that have been cancelled, and talk shows, games shows, and realty shows have taken their places!! There are only 4 soaps left. If NBC does this to Days of Our Lives, which I have been watching since the 80s, it's a matter of time that CBS and ABC will follow. It was very sad when As the World Turns, and All My Children left. We do not want another casualty. So everyone needs to rally together to save Days, or all Soaps will eventually be extinct!!😪

But I'm still into it to this day. Like it alot. It's an amazing Daytime drama. Always was. A few shows I think gets ideas from it too. I hope and pray that they don't cancel! Take care. Thanks! It's not being cancelled. 1. They have already filmed shows through July of next year. They won't film anymore until NBC renews. They also are shortening the tape to air gap from 9 month to 2 months to allow for storyline corrections based on audience feedback. Production is going on hiatus for 4 months. This is not anything new. They've done this before. Business wise they have to release everyone from contract.
I swear if they cancel days, I will NEVER watch anything on NBC AGAIN!!! When my wife and I were dating 27 years ago she used to watch the show religiously and I used to record it for her on my vcr. Id vome over to her place, we'd have dinner and then watch the show. At first I really wasn't into it but then I started watching Stefano, John Black, and Bo & Hope, I got hooked. Weve been married for 25 yrs now and still watch it at home at the end of the day. Its been our thing! And now they wanna pull the plug?!!! I'm pissed, totally pissed!
I just learned online, while looking for how to affect Days Of Our Lives ratings that Days has been set to be cancelled since last year, specifically Sep. 19, 2018, that upon the entry of Kelly Clarkson talk show the immediate cancellation would be Steve Harvey's show and in the long run it would be Days Of Our Lives. So if there is someone here who doesn't like her talk show they can let NBC know by either changing their channels or let Kelly Clarkson know that we don't appreciate her invading and throwing away our long time running soap, Days Of Our Lives.
I have a good news, sort of! I just went back to the same web address and I noticed they have a segment where people share their feelings of Days being cancelled and I read a lot of people showing their love for Days. And so, I added my own comment there right away!

Princess Gina.... that's the one character I will never understand them bringing back --- and don't care to! Stefano is dead because Joe Mascalo died and bringing back that character is ridiculous! They tried that before with the Machu Picchu storyline decades ago.... This Gina thing stinks.... Why the writers ever decided to bring that character back is beyond comprehension! They even have Chad bringing him up! Let it go!!! I want to see Sarah and Xander, Ben and Ciara, and Gabi and Stefan (Brandon Barash)! Couldn't care less about Chad and Abigail anymore....

If all DOOL fans, viewers, supporters, and all of us who are shocked should rise up in unison and let the voices of concern, love of and for our Salem FAMILIES we've brought into our homes for so many years only bash this last ditch effort to hear&learn our feelings on this, are all defiant...for sure won't even try to stay around! It's similar to the holidays. Think about this: WHEN FAMILY-FAMILIES COME HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS AND EVERYONE MAKES SURE THEY GET IT THAT THE PLACE THE GATHERING IS AT, SHOWS THAT THEY AREN'T HAPPY TO BE HOSTING THEIR LOVED ONES. WOULD YOU WANT TO GO BACK NEXT YEAR? ABSOLUTELY NOT! THIS "IS EXACTLY WHAT THE WRITERS ARE FEELING THE SAME UNWANTEDNESS, THE FAMILY I WROTE ABOUT WOULD BE FEELING! " HAVEN'T YOU EVER BEEN EXCITED ABOUT A TRIP TO GO SEE SOMEONE AND BE INVOLVED IN EVERYTHING THAT'S OFFERED? I HAVE BEEN. Please don't cancel Days of Our Lives I have watched it from the very first episode I can't tell you how much I look forward to seeing it everyday before I had the VCR I had to make sure I was home so I can see it and when I got the VCR I recorded it if I wasn't home and now I have a DVR and it is recorded automatically everyday and sometimes on the weekends I will binge watch it shows that I've already seen all week so another words I have watched it twice I love this show when one of the older cast members actually die not just die off the show when they actually die upsets me very much because they have become a part of my family I mean after all these years I know them as part of my family I remember when dr. Horton die I cried my eyes I mean the real man he died it upset me so much because I never had a grandfather and if I would have I would have liked for him to have been like Dr Horton so please don't ever cancel Days of Our Lives
I’m not sure who made the decision to do the time jump, it is the worse writing ever. I watched the show since 1998 and I have just rolled my eyes when they killed everybody and they ended up alive on an island and now here we go again. The line of writing with Gabbie having a single source with an app holding a cop- a cop hostage was below deck. I gave up on the show. After all I did graduate fro high school. Remember the guiding light, they got stupid with their writing too. They’re gone.
If anything need to be taken off and need to be Bold and the Beautiful repeat of Liam HOPE and Stephanie waffling all the times with their relationship has been going on for years so this need to be stopped and they need to have a new storyline stop all the back and forth and the bed hopping between these characters HOPE and Stephanie and one man

All I know is I'm a long time fan & I will stick with whatever the writers put out there. Please stick with us if your a die-hard fan. I know I've complained, but in doing so it hurts the story. NBC wants to keep the show on 100%. It is Sony's fault this is going on. Corday Productions which owns the show is suing Sony for $20 million regarding several things that Sony has done in the past several years to hurt the show. If they can't come to some kind of resolution, Corday will have to voluntarily stop producing the show. But NBC if anybody will do whatever it takes to keep the show on.
I watched days with my mom when I was a little girl. I'm 41 and still watch. I can't imagine not watching. I laugh, smile, and even cry with this show. NBC will be losing a lot by losing days
Donni Lee I so agree. I’m 45 and my Mom and I call each other as soon as the show goes off. Think we could talk bout Days for hours. My Mom watched it with her Mom. Be ashamed for it to end. Same here, I was 12 years old when I use to watch Days with my mom. I am 57 and I still watch Days. When I was stationed overseas in the 90s, my family used t record the shows and mail the tapes to me. If the show is indeed destined to be cancelled it is very disheartening. I kept watching as one of my ways of keeping a tradition with my mother, she has gone on to heaven 26 years ago.

I remember when NBC cancelled Another World and said they were planning on going to an all daytime news or talk show format; so, I've been waiting for the shoe to drop on Days ever since. When they say, "We're still here!" as they did on Instagram, they aren't saying "until we wrap it up"! Maybe they're "still here" because they're taping the "tying up loose ends" part of the show! If that's the case, then they MAY get one more year to tie up those loose ends. Remember: Billy Flynn (Chad) and Abigail, stated they weren't leaving the show when, in fact, they were!
We all know: NO network releases ALL their actors from their contracts at the same time if they're coming back from "hiatus"! Besides, when you bring back every beloved character from the dead and bring our favorite couples back together, it's way too hard to believe you!!! Until we see you on air AFTER Summertime 2020, don't hate us if we doubt you!
What's really sad is NBC not caring about Days' fan base! Do they really think any of us will tune in and watch another talk show or more news?!? Soaps are like the trades: it's a dying art! NBC cannot be making a more huge mistake! Then again, one can't say much about the NBC execs' intelligence these days, can one?!
Either way, NBC is making one of the poorest decisions they've ever made --- if cancelling Days is in the cards! Get ready to drop to the bottom of the daytime ratings if you do choose to drop the longest running soap! After 50+ years, Days has die hard fans and we'll watch it to the end --- then we'll turn NBC off for good during the daytime and get things done around the house!!!
My Grandparents started watching Days when it started in 1965. My mother became hooked and then I got hooked too. I'm 59 almost 60. This show is important to me. I don't watch any other soap operas and I'm saddened by the end of this show. If this show ends, I will not watch any other shows on nbc. If nbc does this I will walk away from this channel.

I have watched DAYS since I was 9 yr old. I am 51 now. I pray that it is not cancelled. Of all the soaps that used to be on. It is the only one left that I watch. I record it everyday. As far as the time jump... It's different but it is worth watching and giving it a chance.

My grandmother turned me on to Days years ago. I am a 60 year old woman so I've been watching Days for most of my life. Like Phoenix said this is a very depressing day. This is the very best soap that there is. Let's all unite and save Days. Let's get the ratings to sky rocket so that the show does not get canceled. I know if we all stick together and think positive we can make this happen. 🤗

This breaks my heart because I started watching Days with my momma as a small child. She passed away almost 3 years ago and watching Days is one of the few things that brings back happy memories. I'm going to be so sad.

That's such crap! I live in Idaho and my mom in Florida and we watch daily and then spend hours talking about it! I have done this since I was 12 and I am almost 49. Day's, please don't end the show. It is 1 of the few reasons my mom holds on to life. She lives for 2 things, watching days and 7 pm bed time!

My husband came home from work last night about 8pm and said he heard on out local radio station that it was going to be canceled and that they had released all the actors from their contracts. He didn't know anything about it yet and knows that I talk to my mom about it daily and was like what are yall gonna do now?

Wow...I'm in shock!! You are absolutely correct!! All of the negativity about the show needs to stop, and more positive energy needs to be put out!!. I've seen so many great shows that have been cancelled, and talk shows, games shows, and realty shows have taken their places!! There are only 4 soaps left. If NBC does this to Days of Our Lives, which I have been watching since the 80s, it's a matter of time that CBS and ABC will follow. It was very sad when As the World Turns, and All My Children left. We do not want another casualty. So everyone needs to rally together to save Days, or all Soaps will eventually be extinct!!😪

I agree with everything you had said about Days, Phoenix! It is sad. I have watched it for over 30 years at least. My Mom had watched Days from the beginning! Deceased. But I'm still into it to this day. Like it alot. It's an amazing Daytime drama. Always was. A few shows I think gets ideas from it too. I hope and pray that they don't cancel! Take care. Thanks! It's not being cancelled. 1. They have already filmed shows through July of next year. They won't film anymore until NBC renews. They also are shortening the tape to air gap from 9 month to 2 months to allow for storyline corrections based on audience feedback. Production is going on hiatus for 4 months. This is not anything new. They've done this before. Business wise they have to release everyone from contract.
I swear if they cancel days, I will NEVER watch anything on NBC AGAIN!!! When my wife and I were dating 27 years ago she used to watch the show religiously and I used to record it for her on my vcr. Id vome over to her place, we'd have dinner and then watch the show. At first I really wasn't into it but then I started watching Stefano, John Black, and Bo & Hope, I got hooked. Weve been married for 25 yrs now and still watch it at home at the end of the day. Its been our thing! And now they wanna pull the plug?!!! I'm pissed, totally pissed!

I just learned online, while looking for how to affect Days Of Our Lives ratings that Days has been set to be cancelled since last year, specifically Sep. 19, 2018, that upon the entry of Kelly Clarkson talk show the immediate cancellation would be Steve Harvey's show and in the long run it would be Days Of Our Lives. So if there is someone here who doesn't like her talk show they can let NBC know by either changing their channels or let Kelly Clarkson know that we don't appreciate her invading and throwing away our long time running soap, Days Of Our Lives.
I have a good news, sort of! I just went back to the same web address and I noticed they have a segment where people share their feelings of Days being cancelled and I read a lot of people showing their love for Days. And so, I added my own comment there right away!

Princess Gina.... that's the one character I will never understand them bringing back --- and don't care to! Stefano is dead because Joe Mascalo died and bringing back that character is ridiculous! They tried that before with the Machu Picchu storyline decades ago.... This Gina thing stinks.... Why the writers ever decided to bring that character back is beyond comprehension! They even have Chad bringing him up! Let it go!!! I want to see Sarah and Xander, Ben and Ciara, and Gabi and Stefan (Brandon Barash)! Couldn't care less about Chad and Abigail anymore....

If all DOOL fans, viewers, supporters, and all of us who are shocked should rise up in unison and let the voices of concern, love of and for our Salem FAMILIES we've brought into our homes for so many years only bash this last ditch effort to hear&learn our feelings on this, are all defiant...for sure won't even try to stay around!
It's similar to the holidays. Think about this: WHEN FAMILY-FAMILIES COME HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS AND EVERYONE MAKES SURE THEY GET IT THAT THE PLACE THE GATHERING IS AT, SHOWS THAT THEY AREN'T HAPPY TO BE HOSTING THEIR LOVED ONES. WOULD YOU WANT TO GO BACK NEXT YEAR? ABSOLUTELY NOT! THIS "IS EXACTLY WHAT THE WRITERS ARE FEELING THE SAME UNWANTEDNESS, THE FAMILY I WROTE ABOUT WOULD BE FEELING! " HAVEN'T YOU EVER BEEN EXCITED ABOUT A TRIP TO GO SEE SOMEONE AND BE INVOLVED IN EVERYTHING THAT'S OFFERED? I HAVE BEEN. I HAD A PERSONAL EXPERIENCE THAT I was made to feel as though they would have been happier if I'd have stayed at my home all alone. That was in May 1991. I've never wanted to be around them even one time in 28 years! I made an attempt in 2015 only to be so hurt worse than before! Unity b.v, I will never forgive myself for allowing myself to want them in my life and trying to do any an everything I could do to accomplish it. Even to the point that I was allowing them to do anything they wanted to do to me to have them involved for my 4 member existing family to have them if I didn't get well so they'd have someone else and wouldn't be so lonely. Boy, did it take me to a hurtful place and now, through all my efforts, they managed to turn it against me and now I'm the one who is hurting the worse.
DOOL, I'm sure, are doing the same thing. This it s the last ditch EFFORT to try to get our attention!!! So...how many of us are feeling like becoming an Army and making Days Of our lives see we do want them to continue coming into our homes, and stay a family member? I DO! Please don't cancel Days of Our Lives I have watched it from the very first episode I can't tell you how much I look forward to seeing it everyday before I had the VCR I had to make sure I was home so I can see it and when I got the VCR I recorded it if I wasn't home and now I have a DVR and it is recorded automatically everyday and sometimes on the weekends I will binge watch it shows that I've already seen all week so another words I have watched it twice I love this show when one of the older cast members actually die not just die off the show when they actually die upsets me very much because they have become a part of my family I mean after all these years I know them as part of my family I remember when dr. Horton die I cried my eyes I mean the real man he died it upset me so much because I never had a grandfather and if I would have I would have liked for him to have been like Dr Horton so please don't ever cancel Days of Our Lives

I’m not sure who made the decision to do the time jump, it is the worse writing ever. I watched the show since 1998 and I have just rolled my eyes when they killed everybody and they ended up alive on an island and now here we go again. The line of writing with Gabbie having a single source with an app holding a cop- a cop hostage was below deck. I gave up on the show. After all I did graduate fro high school. Remember the guiding light, they got stupid with their writing too. They’re gone.
