Thank you very much Laura, yesterday, following your advice, I changed the Thomastik Dominant strings from my Stainer 3/4 for the Ascente ones that I had from another unused violin. The result was better sound. What I didn't understand is what you say about the late response in string changes. Could you clarify it for me? I use two Stainer violins, a very nice powered 3/4 and another Stainer also but 4/4, in the latter the string changes are not a problem, in the small one they are a little more complicated. I really liked watching you play. Thank you so much!
Late response just means that you don't get the sound immediately when you change the bow direction or the strings. It's something you might not always realize until you get a really nice set of strings that have instantaneous response.
I bought the Ascente medium tension synthetic core My opinion: the E and A strings good sounding The A string is thick as the G which means the D string is thinner than the A That means an unbalanced tension because the G and D are soft to press due to being thin A is thick and requires more tension to reach its tune. Therefore is harder to press Despite the A being harder to press, it sound good The D and G are low sounding. Not good I wouldn’t not recommend this set
You “wouldn’t not recommend this set”, so, you would recommend them? Anyways.. just bought a set to give a try on my electric (yamaha yev body, BTS pickup)
@@AlexC80 eh.. so for me: i like the gauges on D and A, E is fine.. G is a little floppy (i fiddle pretty hard). I dont mind the tone, im going to play plugged in tomorrow evening for a live/loud event, im thinking that ill immediately change over to my chromcor and be back in business depending on how the evening goes.

Sometimes when you change bow direction or change strings, the response of sound is not immediate. That's what I mean with late response. Hope that helps!

A CodaBow Joule with Clarity Rosin might help. Wittner Fine Tune Pegs would help with tuning it to pitch.
Thank you for sharing your knowlage!
You're welcome!
