Thanks for the tips! I’m restoring a vintage bike. I have NOS decals, however some of the edges have curled. They also don’t have the protective film over the top. How would you go about installing these and addressing the age related issues? Thanks!
I've been researching how to apply vinyl graphics to motorcycle seats and how to make them hold up to the wear and tear from the rider. Any tips or ideas you might have? Or maybe you know of any other places I should check out or ask?
I have never done this before but i am in the process of repainting my entire bike and plan on adding flames on each side of the tank that are vinyl decals. But i thought i was supposed to put the decals over the base coat of paint and then spray the clear coat sealer over the decals. Am i supposed to spray a layer of clear coat before applying the deals and then another layer of clear coat after applying the decals ? Does the vinyl decal stick better to the clear coat than it would on the paint ?
Any ideas on how to apply a small sticker (Ready to race) on ktm duke? The letters stay stuck to the base of the sticker's material and I don't know what I'm supposed to do. Do I have to apply each letter individually maybe?,
If it is a quality decal it should have a mask on the top that keeps the spacing. Carefully remove the backing while keeping the letters on the top mask.
Use soapy water as I show. There is also specific products on the market that achieve the same result in allowing you to position while applying one I have uses is called Sticker On!
OMG! I'm doing the same graphic on the same color tank except on a G31M 100 instead of an F9. Looking for your clear coat over the graphic video. Did you make one?

It really doesn't matter. I usually put the decals on then burry them in clear.

What kind of vinyl do you use?
You make it look so easy. I'm about to apply 2 new OEM $90.00 a piece Honda decals on my fourwheeler fenders. So there is no room for error lol.

+Bob DeMuth no, I didn't, but seriously prep as anything else that is clear coated.
Clear coat a must?
Or petrol spill will make them peel
Great tip cheers! worked for me
Thank you for your help!
Nicely done.. great demonstration.
+GTs Garage Thanks. This technique works will nearly all types of graphics or stickers that are large.
Which tank it is? Kavasaki boXer?
What is a boxer?
Looks nice.
That was really helpful. Thank you.
Brilliant thanks 😊
Won't a pencil scratch the paint?
No
Gorillaz - Last Living Souls, haha, jk. It came out nice.
good info
Only 1 mints
Whatever you guys do don’t buy from motostickers. Their stickers are nothing like in their videos
These are reproduction decals from Diablo Cycle
Good video but you have no idea how annoying and distracting it is to have that stupid jazz playing in the background.
I appreciate the view. You will notice I have changed the style since this was made.
