Vintage Brooch Board DIY| My Brooch Collection

- We're doing a little DIY today friends. Do you have a brooch collection? How do you store/display it? I thought I'd show you a quick and affordable way to make your own brooch board. I thrifted this frame and used leftover material. I purchased some 1/2 inch foam and a can of spray adhesive from my local craft store. Make sure you use the spray adhesive safely. It’s funny how brooches bring a sense of nostalgia and happy memories of our loved ones past more than any other type of jewelry at least in my opinion.
I think so too. I think it’s because they are so unique.
I LOVE the umbrella brosch!!!! And the spider one! The pearl grapevines are very beautiful, as well! And OH MY GOSH the PHONE broach!!! I’m so jealous right now!!! Alright, I seriously think I’m addicted to broaches now, because the OUIJA BOARD BROCH! I CANNOT!!!! They are all SO cool! You are THE luckiest woman in the world! Oh my goodness, I am so envious!!! I cannot wait until I’m older and can have my own broaches, and my own furniture, and my own Pyrex!!😁I don’t even know you, but I already know you’re so cool!
Love brooches.your collection is wonderful. I used a shadow box with my collection. As I'm old enough to be your mothrr, I grew up with a grandmother who had a beauty shop. The women coming in for their weekly hairdo, dressed with their gloves, hats or scarves, red lipstick, costs and or dressed with their accessories; necklaces and brooches. Nice to see others enjoy as I do.

I have a cameo from a factory in Naples. I got it on our way to Athens, Greece in 1955. It was one of those ports that we stopped in on our way to Pireaus, port of Athens. I also have my mom's brooches and lots daddy gave me plus my own. I have my mom's jewelry stand and 2 drawers are full of just brooches! I love and I wear. I have a white Rudolph with his red nose daddy gave me. It is very special and a circle one in mother of pearl I believe daddy brought mom from the Phillipines before we joined him on Guam. Probably my 2 favorites. I love your display boards. I rarely look at the thrift shops for them but will now. I really don't need any more but I like to look. Im so glad I found your channel.

Laci Fay The Vintage Girl Next Door I have a few Sarah Coventry. One of the pins I have I bought for a few $$$. When in NY I stopped into a thrift store and the same pin (markings were the same) was $100! My pin was $10 in a vintage store in Princeton.

Ouija spiders & skull girl like cameo are the coolest!!❤❤ Love the boards great idea. Perfect for storing & beautiful decoration. The boards make it so easy to grab, see what u have to get the most use out of them. Great idea really love the boards. Love your collection. ❤❤❤
Lacy, these are so pretty done on a board covered with green velvet - in the shape of a Christmas Tree - with your vintage jewelry- you can see them - when you google them !
And they’ve been around a long time - there was a craft magazine type - diy - way back - with instructions/ pattern for the tree - and the colors of velvet to use - and you hang it out for the Holidays each year - then you place the velvet tree on a covered board - in a gold/silver frame 💛

Beautiful! I love your brooch collection, too. They "live" in old check boxes labeled with what's inside [they are all the same size--200 checks to a box] and stack nicely in one of my drawers. I have some from grandma, mom and thrifted. One of my favorites is a pair of ruby slippers with red rhinestones touched with a magic wand. I wear it often; these days!! I found a real cameo [in a thrift store]. Real cameos are made from shells and are cold when . . . here it comes--putting it up to my bottom lip to test it [NO WAY, today]! LOVE your brooch board! I think if I had a board like yours, I would wear mine more often! ❤❤

oh how beautiful with the display on your picture frame. I have 2 of them you have the victorian girl on the brooch that looks orangeish red, & the red & blue anchor. That is a lovley piece from 1918 wish I knew the history of the lady that wore it Emma Spencer Thank you for showing us the brooches & how you put it togerher in the frame. I got thinking about this big flower brooch I have, so I dug it out. I found 3 others I forgot I had! I think all but one were my mom's, and I think they're maybe 60s but have no markings. I have a pretzel one that I think I possibly got thrifting. I'm kind of excited to break these out, now! :-)

We have a common love of brooches. We even have a few of the same ones. Thanks for showing me a way to display them and keep them safe. Some of yours look old enough to be worth a bit of money. Lets face it. Most costume jewelry was not made to last and so some of the pins have become rare. I have some from my Grandma Rene and some from my Mom.

Enjoyable video! I love brooches! I have many that I've collected over the years. Not all are vintage but I like them. I've never thought about making a board to display them but now I will be for sure! I really like cameos. I have one that was my late Mothers which I really treasure. Thanks for sharing!
This is a great idea! They are little pieces of art, and what a clever way to display them. I do not have very many, but if they were out on display like this I think I would wear them more. Love it! I made something similar. I Modge Podged some sheet music, of my favorite old time songs, to a foam board, framed it. And I hang my jewelry from it! So fun! Great video, Happy Memorial Day!

I love this idea! I wear brooches every day I leave my house, and at the moment they're all living in a jewelry box. I basically have to dump them all out to find the one I want to wear, so this would be handy for me. My collection started with inheriting my grandmother's brooches. Most had matching earrings, so I took all the clips off them and replaced them with posts. I love that connection to her.
Love this idea. Just looking at all my brooches and was thinking, I need someway to display these so it’s more likely I wear them. When the thrift stores open up, I’ll have to keep an eye out for a nice frame.

That is such a smart idea to display brooches instead of keeping them in a drawer. You don’t see people wear them anymore but it’s a nice finishing touch on a dress or sweater. I like the close up of your collection. Brings a new life to them. Take car ❤️ 🇨🇦

I do have a collection that where family pieces, gifts and ones I garage sale etc. I like you when I am dressed for work a top sometimes calls for one. I love vintage jewelry and also have necklaces. Yes, I collect brooches, mostly Christmas and always prong set. I have several which are quite beautiful. Earrings as well. Requirement is they have maximum sparklage. You have quite am extensive and amazing collection.

My Gram had and wore broaches. Especially for special occasions, EVERY Holiday. She ALWAYS had one on her winter Jacket. I was not able to have them when she died. These boards are adorable. 😍 My dad made two similar boards for me. One I use for pictures and the other one for earrings. The frames are "thrifted" from my greatgrandma (?) and the grandma of one of my best friends. I keep them like the apple of my eye. 😅
