My jaw dropped when you shuffled the tiles... I've never tried to riffle shuffle a stack of tiles! Nice!

For the curious: nearly every colour combination occurs twice.
I also want to add that there is more strategy to be had here than the video suggests. It's all about placing the lake tiles in such a way to create the right opportunities for scoring the lillies. The strategies around the placement reveal themselves as you play it and make mistakes.
It can be played super chill but it can also be rather exciting if you are really invested in the game. I've been greatly enjoying it, both ways.
Thanks for the additional notes! I've avoided delving into the exact number of color combinations, assuming that each (black/yellow, yellow/black, etc.) appears at least twice and trying to place tiles accordingly so that I don't cut off my chances for blossoms.
Yes, you can definitely improve your odds for success by paying attention to which tiles and which color combinations you've seen - but you can also just wing and see how things work out... -WEM
I was just having a conversation yesterday about the fact that Uwe Rosenberg made both Bohnanza and A Feast for Odin. Vlaada Chvatil comes to mind as well: Mage Knight but also Codenames and Bunny Bunny Moose Moose. I don't think it's an accident that I really like a lot of Uwe and Vlaada's work, on all sides of their fences, so I'm glad to see Kevin Wilson enter the ranks of "delightful surprise" in terms of design styles!
A Gentle Rain has remained my most played game every month since I bought it in May. It has also replaced Railroad Ink as my casual cup of tea & a leisure evening solo game. I'm obsessed with it.
This game has been sold out all over America for some time now. Last year I went to Mondo games offices in Texas and they tried to find me a copy within their stuff but didn't have one. They said they no plans to reprint it. Too bad..
