What a feeling it must be to 40 years later have so many people at one time sing a song that you wrote and to know every word of your song touched millions of people all over the world...
In his 70s & yet he's still fuckin smashing it. A true music icon singing such a legendary tune
❤❤❤agreed so glad im
An 80’s child I had all the albums ! Learnt this song on electric guitar because of him ! I remember watching Police in Japan do documentary at Xmas ! Loved it was glued to it. ! Saw The Police last gig 2007 Cardiff have the t shirt still ! None of this Oasis crap reunion lol bring back sting Andy and Stewart ❤❤❤
@@Justamanda_Sombre_Moon_ I agree with u apart from the Oasis bit as I'm an avid Oasis fan fuckin obsessed with them just like I am with The Stone Roses
@@chrissilvester5663I like the three bands but Oasis is clearly the lesser band, music-wise. The Police and The Stone Roses are great! As well as The Cure!!
@@Texturas75 You're entitled to your opinion man. We all each have our own preferences to who our fave bands are. I fuckin love the likes of The Who & Pink Floyd aswell
Mr Mister were amazing too
Interesting to see Sting back in the power trio format and it looks like he is enjoying it! Excellent performance!
Yee the power of just 3 is insane....no tracks nothinggg...!! Only few artists can do this today!!
Just wish it was the original three… tickets to the Atlanta show October 22nd
This is why those that know use the 70's, 80's and 90's music scene as a benchmark for good music. As good now as it was then, absolutely timeless...more, more, more, please
I was born in the 80s, grew up in the 90s, so was a bit too young first time round. To this day I'm so jealous of my mum for getting to party and go to gigs in the 70s and 80s. You're all so lucky!
Wow still bloody awesome at 72 years old 🔥🔥🔥🔥 absolute legend 🎶 xx #iconic #legend
Such a freaking monster bass player too.
True for sure… Though, seeing this performance through a bass players eyes…I was left wondering why he didn’t play the full original bass line ..?
@@tonirusso9253 probably just keeping it fresh for himself.
Wow this guy never ages! He looks and sounds great!
He’s basically my hero
I hope everyone had fun. Sting always delivers.
Love the style and the sound of the drums, Chris Maas great addition!!, Dominic Miller amazing sound as usual and the legend Sting!! My favorite artist ever!!
Sting has been playing since the 70s and is still rockin in his 70s!
Amazing how good the sound of this live recording is!
pretty impressive performance, still rocking it in his 70's.
What does age has to do with it?
@@jmlecouediceverything
@@jmlecouedic Maybe the fact that some musicians, singers especially, don't sound anywhere near as good as they get older compared to when they were young. Unfortunately, I'd say that this is the case for Sting as well.
I was lucky enough to be there with my friend 🎸🎶 😊
Legend
you just took the words straight out of my mouth!
@@g4zzauk really? Thank you Bro 🌺🙏
Still killing it after all these years! Just wish the other 2 were there with him as well...
Timeless
greats!!! Sting for ever
I WANT THIS WHOLE CONCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERT!
The crowd only woke up for Englishman in New York, even he seemed shocked they actually responded! I love Dom Miller his guitarist.
Sting you wrote and sang Fields of Gold a song in my opinion unmatched my absolute favourite song of all time and still gives me shivers.
I love you Sting!
Your love is wasted on him. He certainly does not care about you!
Love sting ❤ you still got it 👌 grew up listening to you and dad always used to play fields of gold to get me to sleep, peace and love to you ❤
LEGEND
ANOTHER GREAT BAND
Sting you are still amazing ❤
Dominic can be proud, Sting is mindblowing! ♨️
CLASS-ACT! LEGEND!
Adore this man ❤
Reminds me of my teenage years absolutely killing The Police Album "Regatta De Blanc" on cassette 😊
First cassettes I ever bought,Regattas
de Blanc,and Outlandos d'amour .I was 16 years old.
Incredible, always was, always will be !
something is missing. .............
yes, steward and andy.
BBC Music, This is great! I liked it and subscribed!
He is a one of the greatest singers in my world and the world.
Que bajo mas precioso ,un instrumento que se curtió con mil batallas, tocado con maestría por una estrella querida en todo el mundo,
ICONIC
Yeah!
Sting is great, but the drummer here is absolutely amazing!
I can imagine Stewart Copeland's reaction to the drummer butcher his drum beat just like Sting's reaction when he witnessed José Feliciano slaughter "Every Breath You Take." 😂
Most boring drum rendition of this song I've ever heard. It literally drains all of the energy out of an amazing song. Wtf
@@mollieandtomato6533 you are just being silly. Great drummer. Do you seriously think Sting would play with anything less…
Drumming was hopeless. Stewart Cope-less even. Not a patch on our American friend behind the skins. Sting is a caricature of his former self.
correct. Andy's guitar parts are reproduced lackluster also
Almost nothing is as good as the original. This is one of those instances. You just can't copy The Police. I've seen The Police live twice in 1983 and 2005 . This is good but, it can't compare to the original. Whether Sting wants to or not.
Who needs to create his own label and put out some more new music possibly. I mean if he is this nostalgic just put the police back together because he's the only one that doesn't want to do it with them because they fight so much it seems. Then he could have more concerts in America possibly.
I saw Sting live in 2000 and he was great and his band was great but this just isn't as good as those other three instances for me.
CHEERS
Love messages bottled in one thousand songs. Gracias STING. 💙 💙
that guitar is on fireeee
2:14 As a non native speaker back then I misheard the lyrics "Message In A But t hole" :D
Turn on captions... 😂
They usually have an echo!
My wife use to think it said .. A year has passed since I broke my nose ... hehehe
Ein großartiges Concert...Sting ist immer noch sehr erfolgreich.....Danke...
🎼🎶🎵🔝💯...
saw him at delemere park in june, not much more needs to be said, legend forever and always
Just can't wait going to SA soon
Will be going to his Concert March 2025🎉🎉😊
The Police forever.. please reunion again.. last time.. last chance
All we need a last reunion of best band in the world - THE POLICE! Please Mr.Stewart and Mr.Andy!
Sick and tired of reunion. Oasis, money, money, money! They do it for themselves, not their fans. So, no Police reunion, please, because they love their fans.
Epic! No, i mean it, as trivial as it can sound....EPIC!!!!!❤❤❤
Dominic Miller just knocks it out of the park
what a god
This is what we call "rock star".
That's class.
Sounds like he needs to sing the song one step down now, but we should all be so lucky to keep holding it together into our 70s like Sting!
It's a step down here already, but you're right - it's Sting we're talking about and he can sing his songs however he wants to : )
Oh do be quiet
@@xplanet2112Oh, I meant I could tell that he’s already singing it a step down (as necessitated by those aging vocal cords). Perfect pitch :)
Played a full step down from the recording, more metal, more jazz... genius! The Police are eternal
Insane Fender
his drummer is nothing like stewart copeland
"Not playing like Stewart Copeland" has been a job requirement for Sting's drummers since 1985.
@@audibletapehiss3764Josh Freese did a pretty good job
Brilliant performance. Sting and the rest of the band are so tight. Anyone know who the guitar player and drummer is?
Domonic miller on guitar who's been with him for years and chris mass who played with munford and sons
@@joelmorris8368 Thank you for your response. Both of them are really good players.
Killer drummer!
All that Tantric Yoga paid off I guess 😛
What to say?? Amazing!!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Epic!
💙💙💙
💥
Awesome muscians
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
At Glastonbury 97, my friends and I set alarms on the Sunday to wake up early to see Sting, who was playing at 12pm on the main stage. We all went down and pelted the shit out of him with mud. A friend of mine threw a tin of hot dog sausages at Sting, which sadly missed. Another friend hit his guitarist's guitar, which you saw on the BBC video. Those were days.
And 27 years later both Sting and Dominique Miller, which I assume was that mentioned guitarist, are still rocking on stage while you are writing this meaningless anecdote which, if true, would describe how sad and pathetic was you and your friends' acts.
Life, aye?
@@carlosce5179 It's 1,000,000% true. The only sad thing about that story is my friend missed Sting with the tin of hot dogs.
@@bungle3912 No, mate ; the only sad thing about that story is that you're still insisting on being ridiculously pathetic 27 years later, innit
😉
Well done Stingo
The audience 🥶
👏
Either Sting is shrinking or that’s an enormous guitar
That’s always been the size of hos Bass Guitar, hehe!!
Bass
This band should be called "The Mall Police".
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Omg love for this drummer. Staggering Sting chose him. Hate the ride in the verse. Hate the double crash. He’s no Stewart.
Why Andy and Stewart aren't there???
Not big enough
They haven't been in the Police for quite some time ;)
@@roblbm7934 Seriously, bro? Come on, there are certain songs that only Andy, Sting & Stewart can play. Don't be fooled! 😉
@@netones What are you on about?
Please Police reunion!
He lowerd it 2 or 3 tones
Where is Vinnie Colaiuta? 😢😢
how is this guy still going?
Nice to see Dominic Miller on guitar
Too much wrong notes 0:52
They fixed the audio then.
Has to be played with the harmony.
Copeland was busy?
Looking good for over 70, but a poor arrangement. Fields of Gold was awful too.
It loses a lot of energy because he’s transposed it down by a step now. (His voice just can’t reach the high notes anymore)
Does anybody know - who is the drummer?
Chris Maas - Luxembourg born. Not Christmas. ;-) London-based since 2005
Andy & Stewart are not replacable as you can hear. Apart from Sting obviously with a great smoother bass approach, it's a police cover band...
Has Taylor Swift written anything remotely as good?
No !
Either he's flat or I'm sharp
in 1980 he did it better live
This clearly proves that Stewart Copeland made sting great - this version is no where as good as when he places with Stewart and Andy. Just compare.
Too much compression on the guitar imo…
Messed up the riff
really bad vocal mixing , voice is not prominent ,very low compression.
Unfortunately I must say that thus is the worst performance of MIAB I´ve ever heard, sorry Gordon.
The tech behind the scenes was shocking. The volumes were so bad on vocals and guitar... The bass was too high and drums cancelled out.
such a self indulgent performer
OVERALL, THE WORST OUTSIDE BROADCAST AUDIO RECORDING I HAVE HEARD IN 50 YEARS. ABSOLUTE JOKE.
What's wrong with it?
@@Solid_Soup yeah, sounded good to me 🙂
I’m with ya. It’s amateurish. The song arrangement is crud too.
@@paulhiggins6024 what makes it sound amateurish?
@@bonnie43uk I didn't say it was good, Just interested to hear why people dont like it
Постарел сильно
flat drumming, so far away from Stewart Copeland… guitar… just not even close to Andy, another cover band of The Police
what is this garbage?!
