Different for each individual case, when young fit etc I was get over the physical pain in about 3-4 days, as I aged it got much longer about a week to 10 days while in my 50.
On the 3 or 4 times I was on methadone, the withdrawals took close to a year each.
Then at around 62 yo after around 45 years of use ranging from once a week to 10 times daily I woke up with this distinct feeling that that something in the grand scheme of things had changed. It took 30 minutes of self reflection to figure that the whole obsession was over had the dependency had ended.
What a roller coaster ride that was

There is a line between severe chronic pain issues (pulverized spine) n getting high. I find that the trauma is always when I try to go through a 40 day program. The world doesn't gaze upon a pain patient for after a decade of treatment the amount of medication needed is so high, up to a gram of morphine sulfate equivalent. The trauma is severe enough that I teared up reading your comments 😪
God grant me serenity to accept the things I must, the courage to change the things I can as well as the wisdom to know the difference
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Man I don't miss being sick all the time! I used for a little over 10 years and the last year or so I was always sick a few days out of every week due to not having money and being at rock bottom, it was such a miserable existence. If it weren't for Suboxone I know I'd still be using or probably dead or in prison. December 10th I'll have 2 years clean from heroin/fentanyl. I never thought I'd able to say that. Thanks for your videos doctor B! I've learned a lot from them the last couple years.

I was on opiates for 22 years, prescribed meds, then buying more in the street, I had my back surgery and was in pretty good shape with my pain, one day I decided that I want to live so I went to my doctor and told him what I was doing, ethically he couldn’t prescribe to me anymore, he set me up with an addiction doctor and I’m 17-1/2 months off of them, I’m tapering off of Suboxone now, I’m down to 2mg, on my way to 1mg, this can be done, it’s a question of what it is that you want for yourself, you can’t quit because someone else wants you to, you have to do it because you have made up your mind that this is what I want for me. I’m just one person, everyone is different and it’s not easy, but it is possible. Hope this helps just one person get well sometime soon. 🙏🏽

I'm on day 14 off 8mg sub strips after 16 years. Suboxone saved my life, but Buprenorphine is no joke. My doc and I tapered down to .25mgs, but I started getting light symptoms after a few days of .25 mgs so I don't think that low dose did much for me. Aside from insomnia and mild symptoms, Im ok.

Try taking a Benzodiazapines of any type of a Z-drug (Zopiclone or Zolpidem) as that will help you with the transition of tapering down because my mate rattled hard and that was just off 5ml or Methadone but when he took some Diazepam (Valium), Temazepam and Zopiclone basically anything to take the edge off he actually came through to the other side. Just only take them for 2-3 weeks no longer because you really don't want a Benzodiazapines addiction as a rattle for that can kill! Anyway good luck and we'll done my friend. 🇬🇧👍

I used to be against long term MAT treatment for wd but I’m here to say the odds are very stacked against you for relapse if you do NOT get on AT KEAST a 3 month sub taper. Why, you will 100% get your life back, stop doing risky/illegal behavior, spending money, and risking overdose. Your cravings will go away and u will be amazed how good u feel. Now, I will say, I don’t think I need to be on 8 or 16mg every day the rest of your life but I think 2-4 mg a day will keep u out of trouble and if u want to come off those later in after you’re very stable then do so

The part of the opiod user population that takes oxycontin for recreational purposes Destroyed it For legit pain patients to get sufficiently medicated, due to their abuse, misuse of the medication.
