Add view, remove view, add some feature to Scala, remove feature from Scala... Backwards compability issues, TypeSafe became Lightbend, Scala frameworks became Java first, Tweeter move to Java. Why such a good language as Scala now is about to die?

Scala is getting more mature niche technology. There was a really huge hype around Scala and now it's about to end. It doesn't mean Scala is dying but it probably will never be such popular as 5-10 years ago. But still more popular than OCaml, F#, Clojure and Haskell (all of them are great languages). The reality is Scala can't be new standard for industry, such as Java, because it "too smart" for mediocre developer, who doesn't want deep into Scala really complex type system. So it's will not die, it just will get into its natural niche of high-tech projects with strong developers who used to push their tools to the edge
